  1. very very lucky there
  2. I had a similar issue when hooking up my Defi VSD I could get the revs by taking the feed of the ECU but when I tried that with the Speed Signal it just gave nothing. I ended up taking the signal from the wire coming directly off the Speedo feed from the dash and worked a treat. Not sure if that will help you any? Mike
  3. Hamilton is topped up to the brim, he's going to be a moving road block for the first half....

  5. Sorted now, turns out it’s the old age problem of the coil pack connectors. What looks like what was happening was that when I was braking downhill especially, it exacerbated the issue where he first three clips weren’t being held in properly and they were backing off as I broke causing it to drop to at least 3 cylinders and then stalling out. £12ish fix from Paul at Whifbitz
  6. The problem with that idea is that the manufacturers point are remaining the same so the team wont wont to lose points if they are down in say 6th, 7th or 8th places.
  7. I've stripped and cleaned this but no difference.
  8. I hope to god this isnt normal mine has only just started to do this in the last month or so. the only other thing that I was thinking was a faultly water temp sender screwing up the readings. I had this on a old Clio were it would constantly read cold so would have the choke on full all the time, but this seems to running in reverse?
  9. it's one of those PITA problems that has no clear issue standing out and becasue its intermittent you cant garranteee any one part causing it. think I'll just strip each component out in turn and check them.
  10. I'm running a AEM AFR gauge, it normally goes off the scale when letting of the accelerator but when coasting upto a stop its fairly steady at 14.9 or 15 unless it tries to stall when it goes off the scale.
  11. its a two year old Walbro. Possible its gone faulty but I've never heard of that happening (not to say it doesnt)?
  12. Does anyone know the cost of a standard FPR part number 23280-46030. I'm getting some strange fuelling issues when braking and everything else along the fuel line has been changed. Basically what I'm finding is occasionally when braking to a stop the fuelling goes off the scale lean on the AFR gauge and then stalls. It seems to be an intermittent fault when she is warm, unless anyone has an idea of what might cause this? cheers Mike
  13. they're down next to the power station, about half way down to the civic amenity site. exact same thing that happened to mine, but also could be a seal gone in either the master or slave cylinder (had those changed before opening the inspection plate and nearly having the fork drop on my head)
  14. my advise would be drop it down to South Coast and get then to visually examine it either via the inspection panels (Although I'm not sure if the 5 speed have them) or to just whip the whole gearbox off. Its easy enough to get a new release bearing or pressure plate from one of the traders here depending on what is failing
  15. A Toblerone by the looks of it
  16. I need in increase my screen contrast then.
  17. lol its practically an episode in itself!
  18. I thought she was on the verge of bankruptcy or was that another of this annoy "Celebrities"
  19. Ah but if you cared to actually look at the picture you'll notice that I'm wearing a Helmet as I'm competing on a Hillclimb event which the only place I do any type of speed so please dont lecture me on "another Supra fatality" because unlike some other speed jockeys here I limited my racing to the track!!!
  20. definately someone elses stupidity behind the wheel. I dont mind if I do something stupid (done it may times but i know the risks)
  21. It wasnt too bad actually, got the expensive bits from Nic and got everthing replaced in one go, my belts looked fine to be honest but had both the timing and aux belts changed at the same time as it all has to come off anyway. Have a search on here for squealing and startup and you should find a lot (well I did anyway) I had the same thing when it got warm it quietened down, I wouldnt ignore it or hide it with silicone spray as it will get expensive.... Its worth checking this thread to check your crank pulley, hopefully it isnt that. Crank Pulley also this one
  22. I've just had that, had to replace the Aux belt and crank pulley as it was starting to come apart.
  23. I very much doubt it, only 20% of their total income comes from their WRC effort so even though it will be a big loss for the sport it wont really bother Prodrive. infact this mght open them up to buying Honda's F1 team?
