  1. The odometer is not as clever as you think . It is simply a pulse counter. Whether it displays the word "miles" or "km" depends I think on a small wiring modification on the back of the odometer unit. I've never done it so I can't say exactly what you'd have to do. It sounds like you have a speed converter fitted. I guess you have the original Speedo dial (complete with "kph" written in the middle), but the needle position is being scaled back by a converter. You can remove the converter by removing the dash panels (not difficult) and look for non-standard wiring.

  3. No, the Supra ECUs aren't chippable. If you can find one you can replace the stock ECU with a Mines ECU, but the gains are marginal (they add about 10-20bhp I think)
  4. Thank you, it's really good to hear the info has been useful. Work's very busy currently, so I only grab a few minutes on the forum on occasional evenings. But I'll try to get some time to make a sticky. That's interesting - maybe it was the other speed sensor (there are 2) that was giving the speedo the signal to work. - - - Updated - - - Thank you, it's really good to hear the info has been useful. 5. The speed sensor on the gearbox. It's the speed sensor's signal that makes the odometer count up.
  6. Hi Evinx, have you used these yourself?
  7. It looks like the bushes aren't available separately, so I may get aftermarket bushes to get the MOT renewed. Is it the rear upper wishbone bush I need? https://www.strongflex.eu/en/sc300-sc400/1281-rear-upper-wishbone-bush-5902553511871.html Looking at the list of bushes available, it's a bit of a minefield: https://www.strongflex.eu/en/1097-supra-iv-93-02?orderby=reference&orderway=asc&orderway=asc
  8. Thanks Dnk: can the bushes be changed without changing the whole suspension arm? It looks like part numbers 90201-14031 and 90201-14020
  9. My NA Supra has failed on "bush excessively worn nearside rear inner (upper rear)". The MOT centre unsurprisingly couldn't source a replacement part. Does anyone know what part I'd need please? Appreciate there's not much info to go on. Would it be this part (see attached) number 48790-19025 ? Or can the bushes be changed without buying a whole new arm?
  10. Yes please, if they're still available and undamaged. Do you have a photo please to double-check they'll be suitable?
  11. Branners and others, this is really encouraging to read. I wish I could give some time to the forum but my job and commute makes it very difficult.
  12. I have a ticket for Cyber security and cloud expo in Olympia, London on 25 and 26 April, but I can't make it. It's a 2 day gold pass, now selling on their website for £499. I can get it transferred to someone else, but it's too late for me to get a refund. I'd sell for £250 ono https://www.cybersecuritycloudexpo.com/global/
  13. I'd advise against that, unless you're running something like a single turbo. Fitting a bigger filter might change how quickly the oil flows around the engine. It's more likely to cause problems than to eliminate them on a stock engine.
  14. Sound advice. You can use Toyota as a backup. One thing I've always done is fit genuine oil filters though - not pattern parts.
  15. Going ltd sounds easier than I was expecting. Thanks guys. - - - Updated - - - Going ltd sounds easier than I was expecting. Thanks guys.

    Sole Trader

I'm about to become a sole contractor for the first time. Does anyone have any recommendation about how to handle the admin side of things? e.g. do you use an umbrella company to handle NIC, payroll, IR35, etc? Any tips on how to set up payments so they're as tax efficient as possible?
  17. Thank you! I'd got the seat height raised up. By refitting the wheel and lowering it, I could get access to the bolts.
  18. I'm trying to remove the cushions from a driver's seat. The bottom cushion is held onto the frame with 4 bolts, one at each corner. The seat is out of the car and the plastic trim is off, but one of the rear corner bolts is extremely hard to get to. The metal frame makes it hard/impossible to get a spanner on it. Anyone got any tips on how to get it off?
  19. Whoever it is also has a Celica ST205. They like their red sports cars!
  20. Still looking for a W58 from a 2JZ.
