  1. Just done it! I was right about the clip, that needs to be prised off (screwdriver worked best for me), and then the wheel itself just slips off its shaft.
  2. Do you have the horn (with mounting bracket)? The uppermost front one that's mounted near the bonnet catch?
  3. I've just tried pulling and levering. It absolutely doesn't want to budge. Are you sure that's how it comes off? When I've been levering it against the black plastic trim, I've seen that the shaft has a weird piece of wire surrounding it, kind of like a clip. But it's position means that it's extremely difficult to get the wire off. I don't even know what the wire's attached to. Any ideas?
  4. I know it's a long shot on New Year's day, but I'm asking for a bit of help as soon as possible... I'm trying to change the cushions on the driver's seat. But I don't know how the seat height adjustment knob comes off (see photo: http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f246/stevie-b/frontseatmarkedup.jpg) Any ideas anyone? I've tried prising the centre cap of the knob off, but I just ended up breaking my screwdriver.
  5. I thought it was supposed to be 1 chirp when arming it. I think 5 might mean you've got a door open or something.
  6. Yep, that happened to me this morning! Mine did go down, but only with accompanying cracking sound as the ice layer was ripped off as the aerial descended. I think I'll leave my aerial down in this weather (using my handy switch).
  7. Can you mix Dextron III with Dextron II? I'm not sure what mine contains already, and it could do with topping up.
  8. Cheers dude! Better to be safe than sorry. Don't don't to make it easier for them that it already is.
  9. I'm sorry to hear about your car. Gutted. Carl0s: would you mind editing post #78 to remove the details about security please?
  10. I think it's a grade of fluid/oil, not a manufacturer. I might be wrong though because I've never touched the stuff before.
  11. I'm reviving this old thread, hoping for an update. Can anyone offer advice on how to do it safely on cars with ECUs (e.g. what order to connect the leads), or can the danger to the ECU not be reduced? (I find it hard to believe that it's a no-no, otherwise jump leads will soon become pretty much useless) Also, if my supra ever needs to be jump started, is it possible to do this safely, or would I need to get it towed back home where I can remove the battery and plug it into a mains charger?
  12. Thanks Dave, much appreciated. BTW, other people on here to recommend using Dexron III not II. Any thoughts? I don't know what mine contains. Can you mix them?
  13. A quick numpty question for you: Where should I fill to with power steering fluid on the dipstick? For example, assuming the engine's cold, should it be at the bottom of the "cold" box or the top of it? Thank you muchly.
  14. I was quite excitied when I first saw this thread, then realised that the title was in the singular.
  15. In the fuse box in the engine bay, I think the fuses are numbered on the underside of the lid. There should be a fuse on the diagram on the lid marked as "#1 EFI" (or similar)
  16. I fitted one from grille-tech. I mounted it a bit differently from what they suggested, but it's good stuff. Powder-coated, either black or silver, 2 choices of mesh pattern.
  17. Test for error codes held by the ECU. All you need is a paperclip and a couple of minutes. Can't remember the details, but it's on here somewhere.
  18. Sorry resurrecting old-ish thread! I'm still having trouble geting my front seats out of the car. Are these the clips I need to remove before undoing the bolts that hold the seat in? (see pic) If so, how do the clips come off? Mine seem pretty well in there. I'd rather not bust them off if I can help it. http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f246/stevie-b/frontseat1markedup.jpg (PS before anyone says it, yes I'll treat my car to a valet for xmas!)
  19. My point exactly. The huge warheads almost cannot fail to kill a few million people (either immediately, or over a few months due to radiation sickness). I can't think of any possible conflict whereby the UK govt would be willing to do that. One of the current hot-spots in the world is of course N Korea. I can't think of any conflict between N Korea and the UK where the UK would deem it necessary to launch a big warhead at Pyongyang, killing everyone who lives there. Also, is it still a deterrent if your opponent truly believes that you'll never pull the trigger?
  20. I don't think the big ones can ever be used. If they're city-killers, public opinion in the UK won't stomach the sight of foreign civilians on TV being scorched by a nuclear blast, and coughing up their internal organs. Keeping non-military casualties to a minimum is the main drive in conflicts these days, and big nukes simply don't allow you to do this. Much better to have tactical nukes that can be a bit more precise in the damage that they cause. "Pinpoint" is the wrong word, but you get my drift.
  21. er.... ahem..... nice weather today, isn't it?
  22. Mmm, I can see what you mean. Baseball caps are soooo 2005!
  23. Yeuch! I feel really dirty now! Looking at pictures of men at night!
  24. My thoughts entirely! Didn't think that was possible, but it seems it is.
