  1. Have to admit to not enjoying the licence bit, had too many joypad hurling moments ! But enjoying the game itself, my Supe is 832bhp now and leaves most things behind I did buy a steering wheel ages ago, might just have to dig it out of the loft Matt
  2. A Supra isn't gonna be cheap to look after, but it being a Toyota means it's pretty reliable, strong and built well. Plus some Supra's are more than 10years old, they are gonna have frailties. Case in point is the pulleys on the cambelt Dude mentioned last week, even a car with just 30k on it could have a problem with cambelt pulleys simply cos the car is 10years old. However, bang for buck is simply ridiculous - have you tried to think what else you could replace a TT with for similar money ? It's an awesome car with massive potential, serious respect and a big grin factor ! Yup, I love mine too. Matt
  3. Hi all, I'm pretty sure I got the mumps when I was little, but you hear very little about it nowadays. Anyhoo, my little boy Jake (almost 6months) has had the most torrid few days, clearly distressed and screaming etc. But then last night, he slept right through and is feeding again, he woke up pretty happy and normal except - one cheek is HYUGE ! Looks like half a hamster (I've been repeatedly told off this morning for laughing at his one big cheek ) So the missus trotted him off to the quack and he has mumps. Obviously he was too young for the MMR vaccination, but being a new parent I haven't a scoobydoo how long it lasts, if it's contageous, if the parents can carry the virus etc Anyone know more than I ? (not difficult really !) Cheers Matt
  4. Looks good mate, subtle Matt
  5. Nah not for me I'm afraid. Yes it's better but it's still like the old F355 kit for the MR2, you're always gonna be saying 'er no it's not actually a Ferrari, it's a Supra'. And besides, why make your car look like something slower Matt
  6. Nipped up to my local Blockbuster as I couldn't be arsed to go right into a town centre for Game etc, and to my pleasant surprise - £29.99 Finished the first set of licence tests (National A ?) and got SO bored doing I headed off to the Beginner Events. Have now completed all of these bar the Convertible event, but skint as a fart so have to build up funds again. (And that's despite starting with 110k !!! Where did the money go ? Er, a Supra and an Evo5 with over 400bhp and an F150 lightning with 523bhp ) Ain't it home time yet ? Matt

    proud moment :)

Congrats mate, my little lad is 6 months in a couple of weeks Where did those months go !!! Best thing I ever did tho All the best. Matt
  8. I'm, er, working from home this arvo (ahem). Must admit, the licence bit gets right on my tits, as it did in GT 1, 2 and 3 ! Anyhoo, just won the Sunday cup with ease - but then again you would in a BPU Supra Must go
  9. Guy I work with had an S-Type R, and that was a lovely car.
  10. Sky+ is my friend, and I watched it this morning. Well it was nice to see Michael Schumacher die on his arse, and DC put in a good drive to come in 4th, but otherwise ? Nah, still boring. The one set of tyres might spice things up at 'say' Monaco, but we'll see.
  11. Oh, and I've just got off the 'phone with AON to arrange it all. The Supra is also on an agreed value of £15k, NOT market value. How they're doing this is totally beyond me ! The only conditions are that the Supra must be kept in a locked garage between 10pm and 6am whilst at the home address, and that the cat 1. alarm\immobiliser must be working. Matt
  12. Yeah 3000 miles doesn't seem like much, and I will probably make it 5000 but when I had just the MR2, I was only doing 2000 ish between MOT's. This surprised me because it was getting used most fridays and MR2 outings\shows etc. And I'm 30
  13. Hi all, I'm not trying to annoy Mawby here 'cos I know he's put in a lot of time and effort for the club insurance schemes, but I've had a result that I have to pass on. The problem I have is I want to keep my Supe in tip-top condition and so not use it for the daily to-and-from work, but you can only use your no-claims on one car. For the last 3 years, I have been insuring my heavily modified imported MR2 Turbo with AON Classic for £300 odd a year MODS DECLARED but on a limited mileage policy, it used to be 5000 miles pa but I never did that many so knocked it down to 3000 miles a year. But as it is a classic policy, it required no no-claims and I could put this to the 'daily' car. I then bought my Supe and used my no-claims on this, paying about £700 a year through Osborne and Sons. I soon got pee'd off with paying to repair stone chips, a kerbed alloy, 15mpg etc plus I was putting miles on my very low mileage Supe, so over the weekend I bought an old 525i SE. However, insurance was to be without no-claims and was looking to be about £600 for this new BMW. So my insurance costs were : MR2 (yup still got it ) £397 Supra £700ish (can't remember off top of my head) BMW £600 Total £1,697 PA I just spoke to AON to see if they could insure my Supe as a 'classic' as it's 10years old. Again I declared all mods, and the result ? 'We can ADD your Supra to the MR2 policy and providing you do less than 3,000 miles collectively, the yearly cost will be £493 ' So now it's : MR2 and Supra £497 (£552 for 5000 miles pa.) BMW (with NCD) £297 Total £794 - YIPPPEEEEEEEE...... So if you're using your Supe as a 2nd car, give AON a call on 01384 455011 and ask for the Classic dept. Sorry for the LONG post, but I just saved £900pa and thought I should pass it on Matt
  14. I had a 9-5 2.0 low pressure turbo for a couple of years, twas very comfy and drove very well. But even that had trouble with toque steer. FWD is just so wrong
  15. Well, I did get one - so now my shiney, low mileage Supe can stay all polished up and live in the garage, only to be used when the sun is shining and the weather is good. (Or one of those frequent days where the missus says 'what car you taking' and this big childish grin breaks out all over my face - THAT is a Supra day ) I opted for a few less miles and bought one from a local BMW specialist. A 1994 525i SE Touring in Orient Blue with Silver leather, apparently a VANOS engine and seemed to be in cracking condition. So I'm now looking forward to owning the road, sitting in the outside lane, cutting people up, calling my car a 'BM' (cos THREE initials is just too many ) and thinking I have the bestest car ever Matt
  16. Er, 10 out of 10 for misunderstanging the term 'Parallel parking'
  17. I think you'll find that neither exist in a BMW I'm actually warming to the idea of owning the road Matt
  18. YUP Not if you're gunning it, if you just stick your foot down it's more like - ready ? WAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH pst WAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH pst WAAAAAAHHHH. The auto box changes up very quickly HTH Matt
  19. Ok mate cheers, I'm not a BMW guy generally so I know little about which engines are good, which aren't etc. Thanks Matt
  20. Hi all, I'm looking for a cheap but comfy barge to go to-and-from work, that way I can keep the Supe pristine and free from bastid stonechips There's an old 1990 BMW 525i near me, leather seats, electric everything, long MOT etc, thing is it's got 180k on it. It's cheap as chips at only £800, so if it died on it's arse in 6 months then it's no real biggie, but I'd rather it didn't. Is 180k just too risky for a petrol engine ? Cheers Matt
  21. Would it be better bigger ? Matt Disclaimer. I'm far from a Photoshop expert, but did this in 2mins just to see if bigger would be better.
  22. Have to agree, it does look well done on a workmanship level - but it's not for me either. The real F50 bonnet is much larger, but this looks like you've taken one of the generic F50 scoops favoured by the Saxo brigade. If it was much bigger, it may have been better. Just my 2p, sorry mate. Matt
