  1. If we're thinking of the same thing, then yeah my car is like that. I can stomp on the gas from a standing start and there's quite a bit of a delay before anything happens, for example, I envisage you could go "stomp, stomp, stomp" and not move anywhere (other than the creep that is). It's like the tranny goes "duh..woooooooOOOOO" as it spins up. It's as if there's so little torque at idle that it takes around 500msec just to actually move. I may be imagining it all though.
  2. That car has some other stuff to get that effect though. I remember Dude telling me about it - something to do with the top layer having silver or gold added or something.
  3. Yep.. that's Candy (or Kandy!) apple red. It's called that because.. it looks like those toffee apples you get on bonfire night.
  4. Good greif. Was he the killer, or a very distraught friend or relative?
  5. Anybody know what the hells going on? Been sat here in the car for about an hour and a half and not moved an inch. About 300yds ahead, the traffic stops, then about another 300yds up there are some police cars doing nothing. Somebody called into one of the radio stations saying there's "somebody doing a jump off Junction 10". Not sure if that means someone attempting suicide or what. How annoying. Oh there's a helicopter flying up ahead. What an irritating way to try to top yourself. FFS do it quietly without interfering with the rest of the world! So, any body know what's really happening?

    keyboard help

you could try just tapping on ALL the keys momentarily, although I don't think it'll help. Sometimes, strangely, windows looses track of whether the shift keys (ctrl & alt usually) are pressed or not, so pressing them again fixes the situation. Unfortunately the behaviour you're describing doesn't fit at all - e.g. alt-p, alt-o, ctrl-o, ctrl-p hasn't been happening. (You don't have shitloads of stuff coming out of your printer do you ? )
  7. Just been reading about that stuff here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tupolev_Tu-144
  8. carry on.. this is really interesting! I was just gonna say that the forum clock is wrong, but it's been fixed before I finished typing
  9. That is cheap, but I'd rather spend the right money on having it done right. Every place I've spoken to (tyre specialist in Manchester, Specialist Mercedes repair-shop in Trafford Park, and Chris Wilson) have quoted between £170 and £200.
  10. Furry muff I just heard it referred to as a strut once before and it kind of stuck. So, having just looked up McPherson struts on wikipedia.org, I now understand. I had somehow thought that a McPherson strut setup was something good, but it seems the double wishbone is far superior for sports cars
  11. it's nice that. Kind of looks like the Porsche Carrera GT nose.

    how funny is this

    mmm good suspicions!
  13. ah, I see.. so it's all down to moving the wishbones. I was thinking that the spring/damper combination was called a strut, guess not eh
  14. So, is it possible to adjust caster on the Supra? I just can't figure out how you might tilt the strust forward/backward, considering that the top mount is fixed and the wishbones don't move forward/back, do they?? Curious..
  15. Hmm, impressive. What did they charge?

    how funny is this

I thought I'd seen it before, until the end bit! Fantastic
  17. HTF does one change Caster? Surely there's no way to adjust that in the Supra?
  18. me too. I've had it in mind for some time, but just haven't got round to it. My front tyres have lasted since October and are down to wire already on the insides now I've just ordered my new 18" rims from MVP so as soon as they come, they'll be getting Toyo Proxes T1Ss and the full Lance W setup
  19. I've just ordered a steering wheel for my motor, but it doesn't come with a boss. I need a boss which will allow me to keep the cruise control. I see Whifbitz has an 'airbag and cruise' Momo one, but it's £110. Does anybody know of any others? My new wheel doesn't have an airbag, so I don't know if I need the airbag boss - not sure if it refers to what's currently on the car, or the steering wheel to be fitted. cheers
  20. I wonder if it'll have the 8spd Automatic gearbox of the forthcoming LS460? :yipeee: Some reading I've done says that the LS460 comes with a 4.6L V8, but there'll be a Hybrid 5Litre version coming which puts out 450bhp. So... is it gonna be a Hybrid Supra?
