yeah but that's just about allowable on a motorway (instant ban once you hit 100), but on an A road it's a bit worse.
  3. Is this the one with the air-intake headlamp? How much did it go for in the end?
  4. Probably not great for reversing!
  5. I saw it at a place called Bogle and Timms nr Manchester, and immediately though of the pending fuel filter change and bought it for that. Was about £4.99. I guess the ideal thing would be to freeze the inside part somehow so as it contracts, but I think the idea is that it shocks the parts into being movable.
  6. great, thanks. Picture hasn't appeared.. might relate to your session on that site or something, but I think I can imagine what you mean. Is it sort of almost closed so you have to slip it over the pipe and then slide up onto the nut?
  7. mm interesting, thanks. I'll try to find where the fuel pump is (it's in the boot somewhere isn't it?) and might have a go tomorrow. What's a flare-nut spanner?

  10. I've been pondering doing mine for a few months. I have some Loctite Freeze & Remove (I think it's called). Supposed to freeze the nuts to -28 and lubricatingly penetrate too. D'ya think it'll help? Didn't fancy trying heat on the nuts How do you stop fuel pissing out everywhere?

I think you'll be fine. Just take the three points. If you have the time (a couple of days off work for court.. maybe just one) then go ahead and take a chance with an excuse, but don't fret over it.

Honestly are you really this dim or are you trolling?

erm, I shouldn't think so. Most people have points on their licenses. 34mph in a 30zone will get you three penalty points. You could lose your license if you amount 12 points, under the 'totting up scheme'. If your employer had a policy of sacking staff who get three points on their license I think they'd be in serious trouble for unlawful dismissal.

Potentially. If you come across well, but consider that there's an element of coincidence what with there being a copper right there too. It's obvious that you were actually speeding and shat straight onto the brakes when you saw the copper. I was in court the other day and public speaking isn't my thing. I'm ok after about 3 minutes, but at first it's hot sweats, and this time my mouth went so dry my tongue was sticking too. I don't think that helped my case, as I also had an 'excuse'. I was found guilty but the penalty was reasonable.

3 - 6 points I'm afraid. In reality, it could be three points. It'd be helpful if you could find out what their intentions are. http://www.dvla.gov.uk/drivers/endorsem.htm

I just still don't understand though. Surely the letter says what the police are intending to do. If it says "driving without due car and attention" then you need to go and look up the standard penalty for that. Hopefully it won't be three points, but it'll quite likely be a £60, just hopefully not with points as well.

What does the letter say? What are they charging you with?
  23. Tough question. Probably something like a new M5 or RS6 Avant.
  24. Nope I can't even think of that - don't think the autobox would stand up to it.
  25. Awesome. Is this your first MKIV then? I thought you'd picked it up from being upgraded to single, hadn't realised you'd just bought this monster!
