Monthly Meet - Yorkshire - 1st Tuesday of the Month
crock replied to michael's topic in England - Yorkshire
My cars going in the garage tomorrow for some work I dont know when I'll have it back so i wont be able to come. However I'd love to come and meet some other local supra owners so would be deffinately interested in meeting some of you in the near future -
So today it got to to around 1pm and I had nothing to do and seeing as it was my last day off I didn't want to waste it, so I decided the sensible idea was to travel to the other side of the country and go for a drive around the lake district, well because why not? So I started off in Keswick and had a drive down the side of the lake towards Honister Pass which was a fantastic drive I then continued on to Buttermere which i think is the best lake in the lakes and stopped at a spot I use every time I'm in the lakes for a quick picture over looking the lake After that I traveled down the A591 towards Windermere which was a great road to drive, I didnt take any pictures on this section of the trip. After Windermere I traveled round the back of Coniston back towards Ambleside and onto the best road of the day, Kirkstone pass what a road that was I loved every second of it, maybe because it was empty the whole way along apart from one car which was kind enough to pull in to let me continue past I then continued round round Ullswater from one end to the other fantastic drive right on the lake side Last picture of the day overlooking Ullswater from Howtown, but the light was now fading and starting to rain on an off so time to call it a day And this is the end result 327m (not Km) Best part of £140 of fuel and a bit of a detour on the way home due to a diversion and me missing a turn off so ended up in Durham rather than Teesside Money well spent if you ask me, what better way to spend an afternoon than driving round such an amazing place on some fantastic roads
-
i live 2 seconds away from the moors, so i spend all my time up there when i go out in the supra, but yeah i drive that road weekly its known as the helmsley TT round this way
-
So not much has really happened with my supra recentely, i've just replaced all 4 tyres for ultrac sentanna's, fitted the spoiler and been out spent alot on fuel and loved every second of it, i've just been purchasing the last couple of bits and bobs i needed to BPU the car, MOT is due on the 23rd of this month so i'm going to wait untill after to fit my bpu parts and saves the hassel of having the car decatted and trying to pass. heres some pictures of the car below, She doesn't look bad for a 20yr old girl i spent 4 hours cleaning and polishing the car, this is new to me after owning a modified 4x4 for the previous years which I liked mucky as it added to the look i think i need some practise as i wasnt overly impressed with the finish after my efforts but it was turning dusk as i finished so hopefully i'm happier when a bit of sunlight gets onto the paint

Late June would work for me, if thats when we are looking at, i'm off work the 22nd to the 1st of July but i think i've came to conclusion any date i'll try swap my shifts around and get it off so i'm easy on dates, tell me where to pay my money and i'm there
-
i'm in the same boat as the above, but would love to come on a trip up to scotland, i'm from north yorkshire so would be joining in from there, also due to working shifts it would be date dependant for me, but with a good notice i might be able to swap my shifts to get the time off 1) supraleeturbo 2) wattwatt 3) supragal 4) grasmt 5) Crock

i've bought a set of fronts and a set of rears, two different orders from tyre leader this month, the fronts came in 2 days was over the moon with the service, the rears took around 6-7 days and an email, however they were nearly a £100 cheaper than any local tyre supplier to me so i was happy with the overall service from them

I'd like a supra mug, i need a new works cup
-
On the same note, similar to Abz i dont want to clutter my car with more guauges, there is already a boost gauge in my heater vent, I have a AFR guage sat waiting to go in but i dont want to put it anywhere really http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/INNOVATE-SCG-1-AFR-Wideband-Boost-solenoid-controller-Gauge-3882-/291197118672?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item43ccb368d0 Has anyone came across one of these before? It seems to be everything I need for bpu, boost gauge, AFR and boost controler and i can put it all in one place,

as a london newbie, i stuck to where google maps said to go, and due to traffics works i seemed to meet side streets more freequent than i had hoped, to be honest the 20mph speed limit, the tightly packed cars and the way you have to force your way into traffic also made me uncomfortable how ever if i'm down and there is something going on, i would be more than happy to meet up with people
-
i may be ocassionally down london in my supra, i was down last week, however it was a quick day trip but i must admit, i didnt enjoy driving the supra down there and the speedbumps were killers!

happened to bump into my friend and his gto earlier, (litterally by chance, couldnt miss a photo op)
-
just thought i'd bump this up as i'm now a proud owner of a white TT6 supra, it has been a long day traveling and i havent been home long, but what a car i've fallen in love straight away. once its light and i've got some time off work i'll start a topic on the car and upload some pictures one from her first fill up, surprising i've managed the 200 mile drive home and only used 1/2 a tank i was expecting much worse
-
just given the forum a search, Chris i'll be in touch on Monday, if all goes well i think i shall order myself a clutch from yourself if i return being the proud owner of a supra cheers mike
-
is the clutch and flywheel change a box out job then? pretty much rebuild anything outside the box whilst it is out? i'll have to start pricing things up to purchase on Monday if all goes well cheers for the info, Chris i'd love to hear more about your uprated clutch, how would i go about that?
-
cheers for the info that's nice to hear the car I'm looking at the guy says it needs a new flywheel, so I'm looking at a replacement, either a Toyota flywheel or upgrading to a solid flywheel, but if a new stock one is up to the job I don't see the point in the upgrade, I've also been told the clutch is fine that's why I'm asking if its a job that needs doing together, or if I'm looking to go more powerful in the foreseeable future is there any point putting a new clutch in at this point
-
I think I'll stay stock for now, rather than complicate things if its not needed yet, BPU should be happening relatively soon into my purchase of the supra from my understanding the stock clutch is okay, or would a uprated clutch be advisable? As far as an engine builder goes I haven't got one yet, things are just in the pipeline, I need to get my hands on the supra first, If the clutch is okay at the moment, is there any downfall with just changing the flywheel and leaving the clutch as it is, or is it beneficial to change them together, other than labour costs in case it goes again,
-
cheers chris i'll look into them i seem to find the ones i've been looking at, ALOT quote a 40% increase in tourqe ect then but then also quote a bhp figure, so its the tourqe figure i'm looking for? how about the flywheel would a stock flywheel hold up or would it be something i'd be upgrading anyway at around 500bhp? cheers again sorry for the questions all a bit new to supra, this will be my first
-
I'm looking at purchasing a supra thats in need of a new flywheel, and seeing as i'll be paying labour for the work for it to be fitted i feel it would be worth while upgrading, the car is currently standard power, with my aim to get use to it then quickly bpu and if all goes to plan probably single next spring ready for summer (500-600bhp) so rather than pay out twice i'm thinking solid flywheel and uprated clutch now and save me the hassle at a later date, has anyone got any thoughts on the matter, and if it doesnt seem a bad idea what kit to use, a friend of mine highly rates compotion clutches are they any good? cheers in advance mike
