My email is [email protected] "Updated Price" £16,495 or near offers welcome!!! -
Due to a change in circumstances and a new job opportunity, I am now having to put my one pride and joy up for sale. I now require a daily that’s all round good on fuel etc, to get to work and back and won’t really have the time to use the Supra much, hence the sale. I am by no means in a hurry to sell. I want the car to go to a good home and someone who will take care of it as I have. The Supra is MOT until July 2016 and has just had a recent service at the end of July, where engine oil, oil filter, gearbox oil, diff oil, coolant, brake fluid were all changed. The 2JZ jap spec engine has covered around 80,000 miles. The NA shell has covered around 195,000km, which shows on the milometer. This car has had over £32,000 spent on it over the last 2 years, in order to get it to the high standard it is now. In fact most of the car parts listed are brand new since July 2015. I can provide every single invoice of work. All work done on this car was undertaken by Whifbitz London and Horsham Developments. Two top tuning companies. Feel free to contact either in regards to the car and the work done by them. http://h-dev.co.uk/index2.php?page=home http://www.garagewhifbitz.co.uk/ you can even view whifbitz supra club thread page, for more info on what was done by them. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?321982-Ashleys-Supra-5-speed-to-6-speed-conversion-and-other-stuff-too! The car started off as an NA shell and then later had a Jap Spec Twin Turbo engine installed. Since then it has dramatically transformed. It’s had a full respray in white with a custom body kit installed, a brand new V161 6 speed gearbox has been installed, with a light weight flywheel and Spec stage 1 clutch. Great for daily driving. Garage Whifbitz also installed brand new Hybrid Twin turbos along with a Greddy Profec boost controller to take the power to 400bhp! Cheers guys. So just to clarify, as soon as you revved the car in neutral, it would emit a rattle/chatter noise? And like Chaz said, sounds like a small bag of nuts/bolts.
-
Anyone else experienced rattle from gearbox/flywheel when blipping low revs in neutral etc?
-
Ok cheers bud. Mine rattles a bit when you blip the revs slightly in neutral. Just wondered whether that was normal as I hadn't noticed it until I decided to blip the revs earlier this evening in neutral on my driveway. Might have just not heard it before lol.
-
Does it chatter/rattle when you blip the accelerator at a stand still?
-
Anyone have experience with the lightened flywheels on the supra?
-
Spec stage 1 clutch 6 speed and spec lightened flywheel. The flywheels I know are prone to chatter.
-
Hi guys, Just a quick question regarding my lightened flywheel on the supra. Now I know they are supposed to cause a quite a bit of chatter from the gearbox when warmed up and when turning off the engine. But what I just wanted to clarify, is that when i blip the accelerator pedal in neutral stationary, It seems to emit a rattling noise every time I rev slightly. Maybe up to 1500rpm/2000rpm. Is this normal for the rattling noise to be apparent when reved slightly in neutral? Just peace of mind really. I know its a noisy box already Any help/advise is appreciated.

And i have an aftermarket Whifbitz power steering cooler system.
-
Yeah mines defo not right to the top. Its just about in line with the main hose that comes off the top of the rad. - - - Updated - - - I've got an aftermarket power steering tank with braided lines coming off of it.
-
Hi guys, Just a quick one regarding the supras coolant and power steering fluid levels. Just trying to figure out when looking in the rad at the coolant, where should it come up to? Mine is currently just about at the level of the main pipe feed at the top of the rad. Should it be above this level or is that correct? And regarding power steering fluid am I correct in saying that this should be above the the top feed? I have braided lines going from the tank. Reason I ask is that I have fluid on my metal undertray. Its red in colour. I know my power steering pump line is leaking slightly just below the braided line. Because there Is quite a bit of liquid wasn't sure whether it was maybe coolant. I've checked the levels tonight and the coolant level is just inline with the top pipe feed and the power steering tank fluid is just above the top feed. Any help on this would be appreciated.

Hi guys, May seem like a strange question, but gonna give the supra a good old clean next week when im off work and just had a query regarding the front mounted intercooler area. Normally I wash the car over first using a power hose. Not particulary powerful. And just wondered whether it would be suitable to use the power hose to clean off the front of the intercooler, without removing it? Its covered in dead flys and dirt etc and just wanted to confirm that using a powerhose on it will cause no harm to the front mounted intercooler or cause any other issues? Or is there any other suggestions on cleaning the front of it off, without removing? Any help/advise would be appreciated. Regards Ash

Hi guys, May seem like a silly question to some, but I recently had a 6 speed box put into my supra along with a Spec stage 1 clutch and spec light flywheel. Still getting used to it as I used to have a 5 speed setup. Anyway, we live on a slight hill and had to maneuver the car around this evening. Gave it a few revs whilst bringing up the clutch to pull away a bit quicker to get out of the way of other cars coming along. Afterwards when coming back onto my drive, I experienced a burning smell from which I think was the clutch. Should the clutch be ok after this? Just wanted to know for peace of mind really. Any response would be most appreciated. Regards Ash

A quick update on this guys, as I know its annoying when the resolution to the problem isnt posted up lol. I had the supra trailered to Whifbitz, just in case and found that the cause of the strange rattling noise was due to air trapped in the power steering pump system. The power steering system was re-tested and fluid was also topped up and now no more annoying noise Thought you guys may like to know the end result. Regards Ash
-
Cheers guys for all your help. Me and my Dad have had a good look, using the old flathead screw driver and putting our ear to it to identify where exactly the noise is emitting from. No luck. Don't believe it to be the induction heat shield as it would have made the noise before as well i would have thought. This car has been a right pain, since I bought it last year in March. I knew it was going to be a project. But its quite disheartening when you spend all that time getting it all fixed up, then thinking its finally done and ready to drive a year later. Then suddenly another issue shows up, like the one above :/ Hopefully its nothing major. But I will defo keep you guys updated and let you know the outcome later this week
-
I should also point out it had a new crank pulley last August 2014.
-
Hopefully so, I thought it was a bit strange to happen all of a sudden. The only thing that worried me at first was that when I picked it up from Whifbitz last Wednesday, I did have to fill up on a tiny bit of unleaded fuel as an emergency, only £15 worth to get me to the next station for super unleaded. Since then I have filled up on at least a tank and a half of super unleaded. So I would have thought it would be ok and not the cause of this?
-
I would certainly do, but am quite limited on the tools to do so. Its going to be trailered to Whifbitz for inspection, as i have been advised now by a few not to drive it anywhere atm. From your experience guys and the noise in the video, it wouldn't be engine knock would it? That's what I am trying to find out, as really hope it isn't?

I have a brand new v161 gearbox with new spec aftermarket light flywheel and spec stage 1 clutch. They are all good. I know the flywheel/gearbox you can hear slightly in the background rattling away. I'm more concerned with the the clanging from the engine bay. The engine was warm when this was happening. The noise did seem to go away or go quiet for a period of time then come back etc. I checked the engine oil with my Dad and it seemed to be ok. Anymore ideas?

Hi guys, Been driving the supra around for a few days now after having a bit of work done on it. Been very smooth so far until later this afternoon. Later today I pulled up onto the drive after having spent about an hour or so driving around and down the dual carriage way. Not driving too hard, just a spirited drive. After pulling up, I noticed a odd clanging noise coming from the engine bay? I am aware that the new 6 speed box rattles etc. But this was defo coming from the engine bay area. Video below: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=13BF382DA5B63B49!17521&authkey=!AMO47yC02x_sEjg&ithint=video%2cmp4 I have a top secret bumper with metal SRD undertray, so wasnt sure if those were clanging, as the car has 264 cams and does vibrate quite a lot whilst idle. I have shown Paul the video and he says it dosnt sound right. But i am not sure whether it would be advisable to drive to south wales with it or not tomorrow? Any ideas? Help appreciated. Regards Ash

Anyone going to the silverstone TRAX car show this year in July?
supra_24 replied to supra_24's topic in Supra Chat
Can anyone on here arrange a stand for this event? As I am already going to the event anyway, but it would be great to meet some of you guys as well Think we have until 11th July to buy tickets. -
Has a show stand for this event been organised? Or can one be organised at all? I would defo be up for this I used to organise a few show stands at Santa pod on the s15 owners club and it was always great fun. Even had members from Sxoc turn up on our stand lol. Let me know if this does go ahead, finally ready to put the supra on display after a year of restoration Regards Ash
