Hi guys, I'm looking to get a boost controller and boost gauge setup for my bpu supra. I've just recently purchased a Fuel cut defender so that's all good. However I was contemplating on purchasing a HDi boost controller and gauge after hearing good things about them on the skyline owners forum. Some of you may have heard of them, I have been told they are an Australian based company and are quite popular over there. Just wanted your views on the setup and wondered whether you guys had tried and tested one? http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/231293457188?nav=SEARCH Ideally looking for a reasonably priced boost controller and gauge. Not looking to spend too much. Any help appreciated Regards Ash

Hi guys, I have a 93 MK4 supra with na shell and tt engine and just had a couple of questions regarding the rear subframe. I'm looking to refresh the rear subframe by purchasing a good conditioned second hand frame. But just wanted to know whether the na rear subframe and tt subframe were the same? Also is it worth installing solid subframe mounts or should i stick with the standard setup? Regards Ashley

So just to clarify where I thought I had skipped up on mod wise, I.e steering wheel and oil cooler etc, Adrian flux did in fact have them in there system. The only thing they had not listed which again I had told them about previously was the seats.
-
I see where your coming from mate and yes I hope that every member on here declares all there modifications as it does pay off in the end. Mine however was a genuine mess up in communication. They had every mod listed with Adrian Flux, engine, alloys, clutch, exhaust, body kit and even steering wheel. For some reason, I had paperwork which stated only the engine, alloys, exhaust, intercooler and bodykit. But minus some of the others above and no seats, which I thought strange as I did initially tell them about all of these. I mean as said i have talked it out with Adrian flux and marker study are happy to insure me as of now for my upcoming renewal. If it were a case of it being as issue they wouldn't allow me to do so.
-
Well the thing here is that I did tell them. I try to be as honest as possible. For some reason the mods to my engine were listed under the heading of non standard engine, which caused some confusion and bodykit heading included spoiler side skirts etc. They also had different mods listed on there system as to what I had from one of there print outs. They also hadn't listed my new seats which I did tell them about originally. So quite a bit of confusion. They have now redone the list of mods and re sent it to me. It would be quite unfair to void my policy especially if it was a case that they did not write down the mods I told them about intially. Seems to all be ok now as they have now offered a renewal and at a decent price too
-
Hi guys, Can anyone point me to the direction of someone who might have one for sale at a reasonable price? Regards Ash

All seems to be ok now. Adrian flux sorted me out

hi guys, As you guys may know a lady reversed into my supra at traffic lights on 9th January. I'm with Adrian flux and wad advised to go through ULR as they work on claims on behalf of Adrian Flux. It took up until mid march for the third party to admit liability, to which I have now received a cheque for the repairs, so I assumed everything was settled and rosy in the garden. I then received a phone call last week from marker study who I am insured through Adrian flux to provide them with info on the incident as they were not aware of it, which I found strange. I told them that ulr had settled the claim and they said they would contact ulr to close the file. Now today I receive a letter from marker study stating that I am to contact them asap to validate the claim. So I gave them a ring and went through the entire incident again that happened on 9th of January. Letting them know where it happened and who was hurt, what damage was down etc. I then had to tell them my cars mods. To which I did. They then said that the system stated it did not reconise some of the mods declared. Which I may have honestly slipped up on and not mentioned as they were added after I had originally insured the car. Minor things like 2 seats a steering wheel and an oil cooler. My question is where do I stand? I thought this was all resolved but apparently not and would these minor mods that I slipped up on cause my insurance to be cancelled or anything like that? Should I speak to Adrian flux again and state these mods and question why marker study needs all my info again? Any help appreciated Regards Ashley

Cheers guys for your help. Picking the B03B diff and driveshafts up on Wednesday evening. Car is finally coming together
-
As title. Would the b03b big case diff fit my supra? Its a mk4 93 na shell with tt engine and I'm having a v161 setup installed with driveshaft. Wanted to pair this with the big diff? Any help is appreciated as I have found one to buy Regards Ash
-
Yeah that sounds good Keron. Not sure if I would need the driveshafts. I believe I have a na LSD diff as of now. Would the driveshafts be different? Will the small 6 speed diff be strong enough up to around 500bhp or maybe more? Also Is it LSD and suitable for daily driving? Or am I ok with the current na LSD with a v161 setup? Regards Ash
-
Yeah i thought that was steep for any kind of diff. Especially a standard one. I've linked it below just to see what you think of the ad? It states its model A01B? http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/261818872458?nav=SEARCH

Hi guys, I'm looking into a big case 6 speed diff or a small case diff to complement a V161 setup. I have tried the wanted section, not sure if you guys know of anyone who's selling one or can point me in the right direction? Also out of interest, I have come across a big case diff for sale on ebay and the seller wants £2000 for it, what are these diffs generally worth? Any help on this is appreciated Regards Ashley

Hey guys, Just got the supra back from the garage today after having quite a bit of work done. The reason it had been there was that we discovered the rear of the cam covers were leaking, which should now be resolved. We installed new seals and the new rubber washers etc. The other issue was that there was a minor power steering leak. For this, the copper washers were replaced on the steering rack as this seemed to be where it was emitting from. Had to take the car straight to the body shop today, so didnt have time to have a full look over, but my mate did notice a small bit of liquid on the ground where the car had been driven into the body shop. It would have been from the right front side of the car (engine area) by the looks of it. Not saying it was anything to do with my Supra, but I believe that was where the power steering leak emitted from before? Checked under the car after being stationary for a few minutes and then did a few small manouvers and checked again. Still no leaks or liquids etc. So my question is, could this just be excess liquid from when the steering fluid was topped up or previous liquid that had leaked? Or is it a case that the copper wahser required some kind of rubber piece which helps keep it tight to stop leakage? If it is a case I have a small power steering leak, is it still ok to drive around for the time being, as I will be driving up to Paul at Whifbitz in 2 weeks time?

Hi guys, My supra is going into the body shop this week and I am having a top secret bumper fitted. I was however also considering changing the bonnet to a top secret one. I know these have quite a few vents on them and wondered if I'm daily driving out in all weather conditions, would water passing through these vents cause any issues for the engine bay? Or should I stick with the stock bonnet? Just thought I would ask for some advice before making any decisions Regards Ash

Supra is getting a brand new V161 6 speed conversion kit ;)
supra_24 replied to supra_24's topic in Supra Chat
Yeah to be honest I guess in hine sight I should have done that exact thing and purchased a fresh import. But at the time I guess i didnt think through the cost of restoring this car. It was in pretty bad shape, but i thought £4000 for the whole thing was a bargain and it wouldnt take much to sort it out. How wrong I was Well in the future I wont be making the same mistake again as it has cost me. Not sure if I will even restore a car again. I will get a clean example in the first place, like i did with my Nissan Silvia S15 -
Supra is getting a brand new V161 6 speed conversion kit ;)
supra_24 replied to supra_24's topic in Supra Chat
Cheers guys. yeah I could have perhaps purchased a supra with a 6 speed, but to be honest, having already completely rebuilt this supra, it would be mad to go and get another just becuse of the transmission. Atleast I know with my supra whats been done and what hasnt. No nasty suprises and Ive seen a few lol. If I went and got another Supra, whats to say it wouldnt have other issues needing attention? Everything possible has been done to this car as you guys saw in my for sale ad list. I have used only the best parts, no cheaping out. Besides, this is a brand new V161 full conversion and the car is also going in for a full respray next week. This will only increase the cars value when I come to sell in the future In regards to the right side diff mount, yes it was missing intially, but since that photo I have purchased and fitted the right side mount also. -
Supra is getting a brand new V161 6 speed conversion kit ;)
supra_24 replied to supra_24's topic in Supra Chat
Yeah its not to bad to be honest. My total bill was around £8000, because I had all the other bits required for the conversion from my 5 speed to 6 speed. You guys dont happen to know about the above Diff do you? Can I use an LSD NA diff with the rest of my 6 speed conversion? or what do you recommend? -

£5100 for the gearbox alone bud. But then I had other costs involved like clutch, flywheel etc. -
Hey guys, So I have finally gone ahead and arranged for a 6 Speed conversion to be done on my Supra. This was all thanks to Pauls help at Whifbitz My supra as its stands has a UK spec TT engine and W58 5 speed gearbox with stage 3 + clutch installed. Around 400bhp. The car drives smooth as butter as it is, but I wanted to go to the 6 speed knowing that I could then if needs be, up the Bhp without any worry in the future. So I contacted Paul in regards to the conversion setup and he sourced me a brand new V160 from the US. A bit pricey, but I went in with the mind set that if your gonna do it, do it right the first time. I then later got an email letting me know that the V160 was no longer available, but for the same price I could have a brand new V161 gearbox, bonus So I confirmed the order and am now awaiting on all the parts required for the conversion at Whifbitz. Looking forward to experienceing the new setup. On another note, I currently have a diff with driveshafts for my 5 speed setup, which i should be able to use with the 6 speed conversion. I know for a fact that its LSD, but wanted to confirm whether it was from a TT or NA, as the proprshaft was modified to fit it? I have a picture of it and wondered if you guys could identify it?

Supra Top Secret Bumper Clearance vs Ridox with Carbon Splitter Clearance?
supra_24 replied to supra_24's topic in Supra Chat
Funny you mention that, as I did originally have the standard Toyota supra bumper on my car, but then sold it as a I had the full jdl kit fitted. I was looking at the top secret bumper and ridox bumper as they seemed to match up ok to the rest of the jdl kit. -
Supra Top Secret Bumper Clearance vs Ridox with Carbon Splitter Clearance?
supra_24 replied to supra_24's topic in Supra Chat
My supra is on standard shocks I believe and standard ride height, but with HKS springs. Has not been lowered to my knowledge. -
Hi guys, As you may know, a while back some silly lady reversed into my supra at the traffic lights outside my house and damaged my JDL front bumper and intercooler. You will be glad to know that I did win the case and they are now sending me a cheque for the damages I still require a new bumper and am considering either a Top secret bumper with undertray or a Ridox front bumper with the carbon splitter. However I just wondered what the ground clearance was on both as my JDL bumper was preety low to the ground and would scrape the drive most times, even on small inclines lol. I would like something a bit higher up that I can easily clear speed bumps with no worries. Does anyone have experience with either or can advise? Regards Ashley
-
Ok bud I will do that. Just need to sort out the rest of the kit tomorrow hopefully
-
Thanks guys, very informative. Priority will be the 6 speed gearbox upgrade. Whilst I'm here, I know I would need a new clutch for the conversion. However I would also need a TT diff and drive shafts. Would anyone kindly point me in the direction of where I might be able to obtain such items?
