I just thought I would gain some advice on hear of what direction to take first. As said, they shouldnt be randomly uploading peoples vehicle details to their website/facebook pages. It also may be helpful to anyone who was potentially looking into booking with them. A friendly word of warning. That was all

Ok Guys, I am actually extremely annoyed by this! I took the Supra for an MOT to Mels Motors in Bracknell industrial estate the other day as they came recommended. The Supra unfortunately did not pass emissions at this time, fair enough, i will resolve this. However, I have just noticed today, that they have uploaded images of my car to their facebook page WITHOUT my expressed permission and written about it in a manner i find to be out of order! (Also clearly displaying my number plate) Please see below image and I would be grateful to hear your opinions. Can anyone advise on where I can go from here?

Help/Advice needed - Supra Single Turbo 1993 - MOT Emissions Test
supra_24 replied to supra_24's topic in Supra Chat
Yeah i did see that chart. The thing is it should be a non-cat test surely as only the UK Spec would be listed on their system and mine is clearly an import from Japan (Jspec) Dont see how else a single turbo Supra is gonna pass an MOT otherwise? You cant even buy a CAT for this setup, so that is out the window. ANyone have a single turbo setup that can advise? -
Help/Advice needed - Supra Single Turbo 1993 - MOT Emissions Test
supra_24 replied to supra_24's topic in Supra Chat
It was set to low boost during the intial test. Thats one of the lowest maps I have. Also reading on here. It should have had a pre 95 import non-cat test. On the flow charts it states that if no data on the system is found regarding emissions it goes via a non-cat test. They put mine through a CAT test. But no details regarding my car and emissions would be on the system due to it being an import. This is where I am confused. Any further advice on this matter? -
Hey guys, Went to a local MOT workshop this morning to get the Supra's MOT done and it failed on the first emissions test. They checked the exhaust pipe with a probe and failed it due to a 1% difference. Also they were not happy with it being decatted. I found this very strange as the car has passed all its previous MOTS with it being decatted and emissions etc. I was under the impression that due to it being an import and 1993, that it wouldnt go by the same regulations for emissions as newer cars etc? My V5C even states its a 1993 import and has no emissions listed to go by. They stated I needed a CAT fitted, but to be honest, their is nowhere to fit one on a single turbo setup. So I am a bit lost on where to go from here? Supra Specs is as follows: 1993 2JZ engine single turbo conversion Whifbitz 264 Cams Syvecs ecu 800cc injectors Remapped via Litchfields and Whifbitz Borg Warner 6262 single turbo twin scroll. Screamer pipes and twin wastegates. Aftermarket BOV. Single turbo exhaust downpipe. HKS silent high power exhaust decat. Whifbitz exhaust manifold. Can anyone please advise on the above? That would be most appreciated. Thank you. Kind Regards.

supra_24 replied to BoostJunky86's topic in Supra Classifieds
I may consider offers on mine. But I would be looking for offers on the later end of the mentioned budget. Meets all of your specs listed. The supra is a recent Single turbo, 660bhp, manual v161 6 speed in white. All work done by whifbitz and mapped by Ryan from syvecs. Thank you for your input, appreciated. Any ideas on the clutch feel? Just seems to feel a bit gritty/rough when lifting of the clutch sometimes. Maybe im just not used to the newer clutch The supra just feels smoother and that has a recently new clutch, strange.

Hey guys, So about less than 2 weeks ago, I took ownership of my brand new Honda Civic Type R GT. Awesome car and really loving it. However, over the past week now driving it more frequently, I have noticed two things with the car that I am concerned about and wondered if anyone could kindly advise. So here are my two concerns/questions: 1) Firstly I have a strange burning smell emitting from the car after driving long distances. Haven't even pushed the car yet as I am getting used to it still. I just get a burning smell every time I am parked up. Rang Honda and they stated that it was everything breaking in. Exhaust coatings, engine coatings etc. Smells almost like burning plastic or metals. 2) I know everything is still wearing in, but on occasion when the clucth is depressed/let off, I can feel a gritty sensation through the clucth pedal. Feels almost like sand paper I guess. Has anyone experienced this with a new car or even better a Honda? Any help with the above would be greatly appreciated for peace of mind.

Urgent help needed with gearbox and scraping noise?
supra_24 replied to supra_24's topic in Supra Chat
Well just a quick update on what happened. The above scraping/rattling noise turned out to be my screamer pipe touching the exhaust. It seemed to have had worked itself close enough to the exhaust to hit against it. This has now been adjusted and no longer makes any strange noises. The gearbox was fully tested over the period of a week and so far (touch wood) no issues are apparent. As my mechanic rightly said which i didn't think of at the time, is that gearboxes when cold usually are a little bit stiffer then when warmed up. All is smooth at this point, even after a long test drive. So for now, I will keep an eye on it and go from there. Thanks for everyone's input. -
Urgent help needed with gearbox and scraping noise?
supra_24 replied to supra_24's topic in Supra Chat
Not sure what the cause is at this point, will find out come Monday. Never do any hard pulls in the car from a stand still. May be clutch related, but as said, clutch, flywheel and gearbox were new last August. Very odd issue. Potentially ecu? -
Urgent help needed with gearbox and scraping noise?
supra_24 replied to supra_24's topic in Supra Chat
Ok thank you very much for your help. Really do appreciate it. Yeah I would be shocked if it were the gearbox. Highly doubt it. I agree, it may well be a clutch issue, which may also be the reason for the scraping noises? I am driving the car down to my local specialist on Monday morning to investigate. He is around 25 mins away from where I live, I will just have to take it easy i guess. Will keep you all updated as soon as I find the cause of the issue. If it is the clutch then I will just have to get it replaced. -

Urgent help needed with gearbox and scraping noise?
supra_24 replied to supra_24's topic in Supra Chat
No grinding what so ever going into gear. No weird noises etc. The scraping noise happens on the very odd occasion for around 3 seconds when Im cruising along. Does not happen on gear change. When I had the power loss in 3rd gear, the gear stick felt a bit more clucnky than normal going into gears. At the moment however since earlier when this happened. The gear stick, clucth etc are all smooth as normal and power delivery through all gears is also fine. -
Urgent help needed with gearbox and scraping noise?
supra_24 replied to supra_24's topic in Supra Chat
Whifbitz did the fitting etc. This issue has only occurred this week. Do you have any guesses on what might be the cause bud, just for peace of mind? -
Hi guys, Recently had a strange scraping noise appear underneath my Supra when driving around on occasion. I at first believed it to be a wheel bearing or possibly my exhaust rubbing again on a heat shield etc as it was occurring when the car was moving. However, today with the scraping sound still apparent I was driving down a nearby road in 2nd gear at around 20 mph and the accelerated and went to change to third gear as normal, the car went into third gear fine but then I had a massive lack of power within 3rd gear. I slowed down and went back to 2nd gear, then even slower down to 1st. I then started off again going up to third gear, this time the gears felt a bit firmer/more resistant than usual and third gear still had a lack of power. At this stage I stopped the car and tried to go through the gears again and third then had the usual power back and gears seemed smooth. very strange I thought. First time this has happened and both the v161 6 speed gearbox and spec stage 1 clutch and spec lightened flywheel were new last august. Admittedly there had been in the past one or two occasions where I accidentally slipped the clutch for a second. But surely the above issue could not just appear. Any advise and help on this would be great, as I am a little concerned regrading driving it due to the above? My spec is as follows: 93 Toyota Supra single turbo Borg Warner 6266 HKS silent hipower exhaust system 6 speed v161 gearbox, new last august spec stage 1 clutch new last august Spec lightened flywheel new last august Syvecs S6 ecu Toucan touch screen with all maps and traction control programmed in.

Hey guys, May be a silly question to some, but those familiar with the toucan touch display, what does the Act temperature stand for? Also what would be a normal operating temp for the Act? Mine after a spirited run was around 70 degrees or just under that. Cheers
