  1. Alas, sold the Supra, so may as well scratch me off the list. If I can afford a weekend motor later down the line, I may be back.
  2. It's fairly common, have a search for the TTC mod. They've obviously just decided to bypass the problem the car has though, so bear that in mind: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?27904-Sequential-turbo-problems

  4. Alternator was OK, was showing 14.36 with the engine running, so all good on that front. Tested the battery again after the car had been stood for 5 hours, and it's showing 12.6, so again seems OK. Bit of a mystery then. Guess my Supra just hates Saturdays. Cheers for the suggestions fellas.
  5. Think we might have a multimeter at work I can swipe and try out with the car off and indeed see if it's being drained from anywhere. Cheers for the suggestions Roger & Steve.
  6. Thanks for that SteveC - I'll have a search for recommended batteries and start there.
  7. Tried searching through some threads on this but I'm so mechanically inept that I can't put two & two together, so here goes: Had a problem where after a 10 minute drive, I came to start the car again and it died completely before turning over. Got a jump start, and car ran OK for next 10 minute journey. Had the battery checked at Halfords and they advised it was about 75% and didn't need replacing, just needed a good charge. So, jumped it again and went for a 20 minute drive this time, that was fine. Came out later on to start up, dead again - jumped it again, kept it connected for much longer this time and managed to get home OK. Comes to this morning - I go to start the car, fires up first time. Bemused, I decided to go straight out for a 90 minute drive to (hopefully?) fully charge the battery. Now, the funny thing is I have the car booked into JM next week to look at a potential issue with the aux belt tensioner (makes a half second squeak at start up, or pulling away when cold etc) and I've read that this kind of issue can cause additional problems for that alternator? Does it sound like the alternator is goosed? Or do I have an wiring gremlin that just hates Saturdays?
  8. I like Jamie's idea, very unique. For me though, it would also have to be an LS2 with a TR6060. Would dread to think what that kind of conversion would set you back in spanner time though!
  9. Aye, as above, hunting for horses from an NA is an expensive game. You'd probably get a few horses from removing the cats, but the better benefit would be the sound I would say.
  10. That's probably what I'd do too. Seems to be more and more features appearing all the time, most recently the cruise control you seem interested in. I'd spend the rest getting the car resprayed and wheels refurbed probably. :-)
  11. Shame to see it up for sale. Cracking car, a bargain imo!
  12. I had the QTP system fitted on the previous VXR8 just before the stock back boxes, sounded brutal when open. Bear in mind though the normal back boxes on a VXR8 are ridiculously massive, so the effect of these was rather pronounced. Switch was in the centre console but was a little naff. Good system overall though for the money. As Chris Wilson suggests though, something automated using OE bits would be so much better.
  13. Welcome! Let's see lots of pics as you go, always interesting to see a build evolving!
  14. Average about 25 in my BPU TT, more than happy with that.

    Help?

Aye, I know that frustration. I've been stuck on a roundabout before and must have been upwards of 50 cars driving past (not before beeping, waving hands etc - what, you thought I broke down on purpose???) before 1 kind soul eventually offered to help. Glad to hear it's sorted.
  17. Quite happy with mine so far: BPU'd by JM Front & Rear speakers replaced Replacement OEM steering wheel to go on Just a few to go really: Replacement OEM gearknob Re-trim seats
  18. Quality stuff, look forward to seeing more updates!

  23. Top pics! I was up there myself on Wednesday/Thursday doing a little circuit of Loch Lommond to Fort William in the Supra, it's one hell of a drive. Some amazing views, especially around Loch Tulla.
  24. Started out with a Daewoo Espero, big sofa on wheels really. Then a mk1 Ford Focus. Indestructible, kinda fancy another as a run around. Then a 350z. Was a good car, loved the looks but just found it sluggish really. Then a VXR8. Do miss the R8 a little, mainly for the soundtrack and low down torque. Just wasn't very exciting to drive unfortunately, not a patch on the Supra in that regard. Would defo have another LS motor though, C6 vette if money is ok in a few years maybe.
