  1. Next stage is to finish the underside of the car in white underseal. Simon has already done the front arches, so this is what it should look like...... Reminds me of when you see WRC shells being prep'd
  2. Simon painted my bay today and he's done an amazing job. I'm really chuffed with the result .......
  3. I've got one. They're a good car..... better drive than an N/A Supra, but not comparable to a TT or big single. They sound great even as standard. I'm still looking for a Nismo S Tune exhaust for mine to enhance the sound a bit more, but struggling to find one. Going on DBV2 with mine at the end of this month as my Supra is not finished yet. Think I may struggle a bit to keep up lol
  4. I need to sell my old T6 GT4780 setup as well mate. I don't think it will get much interest over here and will probably end up being sold to the someone in the states.
  5. Meh, very true, but I think the risk involved plays a big part in the rush it gives.
  6. I think 2 wheels is more fun than 4 on a track
  7. Thanks again for the kind comments guys 'The Phluken' is a nice idea, but too close to 'The Kraken' I think. Think I'm gunna go with SRD3000GT Got a nice private plate to go on the car once Lee it's finished. Don't think I can transfer it over until the car is taxed and MOT'd again though?
  8. Thanks for the kind comments everyone Photos are courtesy of Lee and Simon, so have them to thank for those. Right.... I've had quite a few people asking about giving the car a name change seeing as it's now changing so much from its original build and I'm thinking they're right, so the question is what to change the name to? My favourite option at the moment is 'SRD3000GT' seeing as the car is fitted with a TRD kit and Toyota originally dubbed their TRD widebody cars as TRD3000GT's....plus gives a nice nod to all the hard work SRD are doing on the car. Also this name doesn't tie me to a dyno target figure like other SRD projects....... Unless anyone thinks 3000bhp is achievable from a 2JZ..... I know it's not achievable from my wallet however Any renaming suggestions welcome if you can think of any before I change the thread title.
  9. That deffo sounds like large caliber gun fire. I work shifts and the power station is right next to Lydd firing ranges. A few times I've seen them doing night exercises when I've been on a night shift and you can see the red tracer rounds from the heavy stuff going right out to sea. Sounds just like that, so I'd imagine that's what it is.
  10. Cheers Kaan, I hope so. Plans have been changing and there's some interesting new ideas in the pipeline. SRD are moulding the car into something which should be a great setup once finished.
  11. And finally as the car is now, in primer ready for paint...... Really can't wait to see this painted now! should look great if it looks this good in primer
  12. The work begins....... During the fabrication stage of the process. Gets scary when you see your car down to bare metal, but the results are worth it ...... Onto filler and smoothing......
  13. Sorry guys it's been quite a while since my last update, as I've been busy with work and stuff. Anyways, the car has recently been spending some time at Simon's (Baldy) shop (Auto Body Solutions) for the bay to be smoothed properly. Simon and his team have been doing an awesome job and I'm really happy with the progress so far. I'll let the pics do the talking as I know that's what everyone likes ....... Car stripped out at SRD ready to make the trip over to Simon.... Car being loaded up to make the journey with its new awesome 'super wide' wheels courtesy of SRD .....
  14. WOW! I'd kill for metal TRD arches. Inferno's Supra had them done too..... pure work of art
  15. I love a good movie soundtrack / score too. I'll try and find some of the good stuff I have to list
  16. Prefer the silver wheels mate. Look much better IMO
  17. Great result Kaan! I NEED a passenger ride in this mate please! Hats off to SRD too, amazing work as usual.
  18. If you happen to find a pair of these in carbon fibre while you're out there Tommy, I'd love a pair. It's unlikely though as they're quite rare. But, on the slim chance that you do I could send you the money straight away if you'd be willing to grab me a pair
