  1. Not a fan of Renaults, but pointlessly trashing a car is dumb beyond belief!
  2. Thought I'd put up a couple of photos of my cars: Little & Large http://img3014.photobox.co.uk/0162931800adb599bf87e930d780c1ba49f16979833ce88651063d0db2201b81285bb92c.jpg or Beauty & The Beast! http://img3014.photobox.co.uk/6284215294a3ecfc44f63faf9db9fc647ccf5520e9a1ec168e4a64e27c9367120f19268c.jpg

  4. Frankly, I think he's very over-rated. Jon Culshaw's impression of him is funnier than the original!
  5. Another vote for Isle of Jura from another highlander here! What is this nonsense about Irish whisky? Anything other than Scotch is whiskey! Irish whiskey is like cava, it just aint the real thing! And there is nothing wrong with a good blend, Walkers Red Label is a good mid week dram.
  6. Simple majority verdicts are the norm in Scots Law, Scottish criminal trials have 15 jurors and as long as 8 vote guilty justice is done. There is only controversy in this trial because the victim and perpetrator are English and American respectively. Had they been both Italian, no one would have heard of this case outside Italy.
  7. Big red TT Auto, just what I wanted!
  8. Garmin make some decent budget sat navs which are easy to use and around the £100 mark. I would also recommend the biggest screen you can for the money, it make them easier to read. For sheer size and ease of use, I can recommend Becker sat navs. I got one with a 4.3" screen including Western European maps for £99.99 from Halfrauds. Becker are a well known make of car electronics in Germany and Austria I got me door to door on a 2600 mile trip to Bavaria with no wrong turns, which is not something my mates with TomToms can claim!
  9. Got my new Falkens fitted today and the improvement is very noticeable already, even on new tyres with the outside temperature at -2°C! If I had kept with the age hardened Yokohamas, it was only a matter of time before I shook hands with the scenery!
  10. Yes, my wife has one as a lease car with the semi auto box and I've driven it a lot. It's a good sized small car with a decent boot, reasonable handling and averages 62mpg (in the wife's hands and 57 mpg when I drive it!) Reasonable turn of speed too. I'm still not a fan of oil burners though! For the £2.5k daughters car, can I throw the Daihatsu Sirion and Daihatsu YRV into the pot. They are relatively rare, use the same engines as the Yaris (in fact the Yaris uses Daihatsu designed petrol engines) and are very reliable. Daihatsus are built in Japan, Yaris' are built in France.
  11. Hello from a fellow Scottish noob!
  12. Hang on, our taxes have to pay for a special shoe for you because you got a kicking at a karate competition! How is that the fault of the NHS?
  13. When I say "drowning" I mean Pulmonary Oedema
  14. So you don't drive your Supra in the wet then!
  15. I believe that your heart has difficulty pushing the blood 'uphill' for extended periods of time and I think fluid collects in the lungs after being upside down for a while. He may have 'drowned'
  16. I'm hoping for the same, just had 4 Falken FK452s delivered from Camskill's; 2 x 235/40ZR18 & 2 x 265/35ZR18 for £380 plus delivery. The current Yokohama Advans are 10 years old and have loads of tread, but the car is skittish in the wet and the tyres sound like they are off roaders!
  17. Coupon = face, if you're Glaswegian!
  18. I'm with you mate, it's about as funny as a Lenny Henry comedy special! That fat b*****d James Corden is particularly unfunny, I couldn't tire of slapping his coupon with a spade! I'd rather watch repeats of Dad's Army!
  19. The farmer may be liable if he was previously made aware that his sheep were running loose, check with the local plod if they received any complaints and passed them on to the farmer. Did the road have a beware of the sheep sign displayed?
  20. Count me in, I want to be able to open the tailgate on a slope!
  21. Rarely more than once a month, but I use the horn more often when I'm driving my wee Smart roadster though. Firstly, because it seems to be invisible to other road users, and, Secondly, it's a and it's very loud and annoying!
  22. Always best to do a search before posting a question mate, the Supra's been around a long time and most questions have been asked and answered before.
  23. Hmmm, insurance cheaper for UK models? Directline didn't charge me any more for an import over a UK supplied car! Maybe it's a driver age thing. It is a truly great thing that lower mileage, good condition Japanese Supras are available cheaper, than UK models!
