Mine had something similar when i bought mine (the owner didnt tell me about it though) And, seriously it was the key being worn down!! I was quite thankful as it cost a fiver to get a decent one cut and it has worked fine since! On a couple of occassions i've seen full lock sets (doors & ignition) for sale second hand for approx £80

Apologies for the delay everyone. I have chased the supplier and expect these will be with me soon - but as its friday, it'll be dragging on to next week. At this moment there are 5 sets remaining. £30 posted! For those of you interested - PM me to obtain paypal details *For those of you asking about the other surrounds, I have also chased the price for the full set, and various combinations so I can provide some more info about them....its got to be a lot easier than collecting them from various suppliers as I did! -

The full list of bits the supplier can produce is : - dial rings (3 pieces) or FL dials (5 pieces) - air vents rings (2 pieces) - heater control rings (2 pieces) - mirrors switch ring (1 piece) - cigarette lighter ring (1 piece) - digital clock ring (1 piece) - ignition key ring (1 piece) - manual shifter surround (1 piece) I am currently enquiring about prices for the full set in brushed metal style. -
haha - funnily enough, whilst driving the car as an NA i was with admiral but they too just couldnt cope with a jap turbo car and refused to insure it - its because they are a general insurer and not a specialist. Their computer says no....as Dnk says - try the specialists (sky were cheaper than admiral too in my case:D )

So today started as any normal saturday, my lovely wife-to-be went off to work and it was daddy day with my 2yr old daughter poppy. It was raining pretty heavily and we didnt have much planned with the exception of Rich (RDS_1992) was due to come and collect a bumper lip from me - he was due at about midday and just before I went down to my car with my daughter to wait for him. I sat poppy down in the front of my car, she wanted to play with my keys so I passed them to her. She seemed happy messing around so I went round to the boot and put the bumper lip in...closed the boot then heard it...the door close and lock - damn that button inside the door that locks both of the doors!!! Not to worry I thought, she is a 2yr old curious child and she'll press the button again! No such luch, 10 mins later and Rich turned up, poppy was still climbing from the front to the back of the car with a big cheesy grin whilst i tried to convenice her to open the door from the inside!! To cut a longish story short we managed it after 10 minutes or so and everyone was happy. Ohhhh but it doesnt end there... Came back into my flat and poppy was a bit hyper having been running around in the (lighter) rain, she was running around a bit and I heard her pressing the buttons on our landline telephone....by the time i got to the phone I could hear a faint voice on the other end of the phone. I'm sure most normal people would take phone, apologise profusely to whoever it was and leave it that but for some strange reason i just hung up and didnt give it any more thought. 15 minutes later there is a knock at the door and low and behold the local bobby is standing there asking me if everything is ok!!!! It suddenly dawned on me that Poppy had managed to call the police..."9""9""9" must be so appealing to children!! She is having a nap now - surely she can't cause any more trouble whilst asleep!! lets hope there isnt another installment to come

This is a very strange set up - I am an insurance broker and have never heard of a company backtracking on the description of the car like this before. Really it would need to be insured with a company that understands the nature of the beast - Sky Insurance or Adrian Flux and a few others. So I would be interested in who you are currently with....I have done the same conversion and insured without any problems at all!

thanks homer - truly appreciate the quick response! I have contacted both black widow and keron.

They both look really tidy, although my limited experience on both would lead to the mondeo - I've known a couple of people who have owned older ones and they just seem to keep going and going and going! Vectra's on the other hand I have heard bad things about but saying that it looks like it is really good condition. Not that I am sitting on the fence or anything ;D

I'd be tempted to sell my NA-TT, buy an NA and this kit and go mad for it!

I have accumulated my full set (minus the vents) seperately and then had this ingenious idea to actually ask one of the suppliers! I will ask this chap for you and see if the full set is available (@ ZippyTT) -

Morning y'all - I have enquired with the mods to make this official - over the next couple of days i'll have pictures and prices for this item and will be able to place an order which the supplier thinks will take a week or so to provide. I'll hopefully be opening an official thread for this -
+1 You shouldnt be able to blow through the stock one - I've heard of a few poeple with this problem recently and have sold my old stock BOV - when i tested it before selling it, it took a fair bit of effort to move it with my finger. Mine was in mint condition too.

Thats just outstanding! my uncle has got an 1100ZZR which frankly trounces me (not that I expect to keep up) but I still think my TT is quick....the difference between what I see as a fast car (my sup) and the capability of your beast is amazing - the power is incomprehensable (im even making up new words) ! the mind boggles

The MBC isn't too bad - you don't get the "gain" feature that seems like such good fun on an EBC and its is difficult to manage it however they do fine until such time that an EBC can be purchased. Its only the bleed valve type that is a complete waste of time. It sounds to me like you have a FCD installed (previous owner?) ....suprised its not kicking in at 1 bar!!

ROFL (- Sorry) My 2yr old daughter too has a similiar fascination with these things....she loves watching others in them and then when they come free she clambers in and quite literally after 3 seconds of spinning she is crying to get back out again!! I had better have the NSPCC number so I can pass it on to her methinks! Great inventions....have you been in it yet???

I understand from my supplier that I will be in a position to place an order for these soon - I am discussing the price with him at the moment and prior to placing an order I will check with everyone here to see if they are of interest for the best price I can get them for. *Mike - I pm'd homer last week regarding this but not recieved a response. -
