  1. Missed out on the group buy here but thinking of going direct like a few others.. Would any mechanic be able to fit these? id give it a go but if it is to do with the breaking systems i wouldnt wanna risk it! they will fit a 94 j spec auto? Would I need anything else done to the breaks? as far as i can tell I have completely stock.. everything.. Cheers
  2. DVLA logbook? first car ive owned.. were they supposed to send me something??
  3. Thankyou i think i may have got main beam and dipped confused. in relation to my psot i was talking about dipped headlights each time i said main beam will try to edit it
  4. Hello, sorry if this topic has been flogged to death but ive spent the better part of 2 hours going through the various posts and now i feel thoroughly confused to put it mildly.. I bought these in the hopes of having a feint blueish effect http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=180310856486 however mr policeman has informed me this may not strictly be legal (if the link no longer works, it is 2x 4led blue 501 w5w 194 sidelight wedge bulbs). Ive taken their advice and seems that it should be a white sidelight of which I am hoping http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2pcs-501-W5W-Wide-Angle-12-LED-White-Dash-Wedge-Bulbs_W0QQitemZ200367008143QQcategoryZ72233QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp4340.m183QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DSIC%26its%3DI%252BC%252BS%252BIA%26itu%3DSI%252BUS-BWR%252BUCI%252BIA%252BUCC%252BPSS%252BCRS%252BIT%252BUA%252BIEW%26otn%3D8%26ps%3D33 fits the bill (again if link doesnt work these are 2pcs 501 W5W Wide Angle 12 LED (White) Dash Wedge Bulbs. Onto the next area of confusion. I found this link for HID conversion kits which is a snippet from an auto express episode http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/videos/featuresvideos/204742/xenon_test.html which is basically saying drivers are buying HID conversion sets in the hope they make the road safer - but end up doing the opposite. so although i want a HID set for the safety aspect im now confused (again) - the vast array of HID sets for sale is also confusing. so far ive gathered i need a 6000k HID Set for my dipped headlights as something about them needing to warm up makes them ineffective for high beam flashing. I had recently bought http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=230337278194 (TOYOTA SUPRA 93-99 XENON BULBS ICE BLUE HID SET) which claims it is E APPROVED & LEGAL FOR ROAD USE.. but im still not sure if i should go for a HID dipped headlight conversion or not. My lights are non-facelift jspec which are unfortunately yellowed but I do aim to have these refurbed soon.. What im having trouble understanding is the following: 1) Are the white LEDS I intend to get going to be legal (or should I wait for the sidelights from the xenon bulb set to arrive). 2) Is it worthwhile and safe to get the HID kit - if so, is the correct kit going to be 6000k hb3 - Ive seen kits for sale on ebay and via here (knight-racer) but the sheer amount of them makes me go "huh " I wont even attempt to understand the bi-xenon stuff yet Again, very sorry to be asking a question that has been asked in the past, but as mentioned I did use the search tool for a while and ended up knowing more but being more confused (should point out im still a complete car newb). Thanks in advance for your time

  6. Cheers mate ill try ebay again. I did try local key cutters but for some reason he couldnt get the key right.. it looked.. almost the same, but it was not long enough (by a little bit) and he said there was nothing he could do.. ill see what ebay yeilds i did message one guy selling toyota keys there but he said it wouldnt work on a supra
  7. Any update here? I only have one key for my Supra which has its inherent risks.. really want another one (or two)
  8. I was down newland roughly that time so might have been me matey
  9. Hola mate, i know theres a few of us in Hull, heard yours well before I saw it lol p.s. the dent in mine was not done by me!! hehe getting it fixed on monday
  10. im kinda new to the whole cars thing and in no way mechanically minded (yet).. but reading this, im concerned.. is this basically saying the pipe, which protects the break / fuel line corroded away in this instance, making the lines vulnerable to damage? sorry if this is a dumb question.

  12. ahh =) i got a black non turbo auto with non blacked out lights hehe. will be on the lookout
  13. Passed a black one the other day whilst in mine (friday 17th) with blacked out rear lights - was on bev road near endike lane junction.. anyone here? if so, hi
  14. Hi guys, I recently took out insurance with Adrian Flux (covered from Wednesday, 4 days ago) and was happy with the price due to my circumstances (new driver, first car etc) with an agreed milage clause. however now ive got this lovely car home my dad has decided he wants one, and until then he wants to drive mine hehe - but if he does any milage he clocks up goes against my limited milage as it appears to be against the car, and not the driver (which i guess makes sense). My question is - on the documents it says a 14day cancellation period from inception or something.. if i called and tried to cancel within 14 days to switch to another company who offer more milage (or let me add him as named drive) does the 20 - 25% cost for time "at risk" come into play or not - due to it being less than 14 days? Additionally in my haste and excitement I didnt realise Sky insurance are the clubs insurers so they may be able to beat the adrian flux price. I have the feeling ill have to take this hit as experience for being a bit too enthusiastic and jumping the gun my dads gutted though as his insurance doesnt cover him for other cars due to it being commercial vans, regardless of his 25+ yrs driving experience.. yet my sister who passed her test 1 yr ago and has 3rd party fire and theft on a saxo - IS insured to drive my supra.. seems a bit weird hehe
  15. Cheers Animal =) still getting used to the search button up at the top myself haha. i type in a searchword and get distracted by nice pics of shiney supras
  16. Thankyou for info again =) Ill be attempting option 2 I think, just need to plan it out properly
  17. I am at this very moment trying to find the answer to that question for myself hehe maybe im being optimistic or not understanding the whole fog light concept thing but was thinking about some sort of conversion to two of the break lights ((one either side) to make them double up as brake / fogs - but im yet to find a post that details if thats possible or not
  18. Hi guys - thankyou both for your input. It was indeed a reverse fog light! we did wonder what the funny yellow switch was on the side of the steering column is that easy to reverse? ive always loved the whole 2 reverse lights would rather have one (or pref two) of the brake lights modified to be twin rear fogs (symmetrical looks better). Thankyou for pointing me towards Jezz, I will see if he can hook me up with one Really appreciated.
  19. Hello, Just picked up my supra car which i totally love, but found a few things i need to give some attention to.. The most worrying one is drivers side seat belt - it doesnt seem to want to recoil the slack. Ive seen other posts here in regards to fitting a new seatbelt mechanism - but i was wondering if theres anything i can do to mine instead of simply replacing it. the mechanism works when you pull on it hard but during normal movement as you get more slack, it tends to just not pull the slack back - it can be gradually manually fed but this is not ideal. Any help greatly appreciated! Slightly off topic too - one of the reverse lights (import SZ 1994) is not working (the right hand side one). Doesnt appear to be bulb (changed them over). Is the wiring independant for each side or could i run a patch across from the working light to feed both reverse lights from the same? Thakyou in advance!
