Ah, thanks for that Tricky Ricky. Parry_10, I would say that the sensor for a J Spec TT would be the first one, thats only based on the length of the wire provided versus the location of the connector on my VVT-I version (just in front of the turbos at the front of the engine). The 400 mm one will be too short to reach for sure, but we can always take into account the extension as Tricky Ricky suggests.

Thanks and I appreciate your response. I have carried out the lambda testing procedure, and have asked Ian what his experience is with the data feedback displayed. If I can get a Denso VVT-i aftermarket version for £40 versus a £150, then I know what I will be purchasing. I see that the following website http://www.sparkplugs.co.uk/pages/pricing/ccp/Denso-Lambda-Sensors-ccp.asp , lists the UK sensors, but as you say I reckon a sensor is a sensor to be truthful. How do you check the heater resistance, just a resistance (ohms) test across the sensor? The J Spec will need to be the first sensor listed for the UK, as the length of the wire needs to be more than 400mm (displayed for the second sensor). But just seems a little bit hit and miss, and a punt to me rather than the detail being there. Like you say worst case scenario is you need to spend again, which wouldn't be great in my opinion. Cheers Buddy

Looks like I need one of these too. Does anyone know if the VVT-i variant with part number 89465 - 19725 (as quoted by Nic previously), uses a different sensor type as the ones detailed above. The numbers detailed above do not match for the VVT-i version.

Would you be willing to post these? I see you are based in Ireland.

That is great information, and appreciate that you have posted many times for people with queries. A sticky would be good for sure, bound to come up again. So leading on from this discussion. What is the best Catalytic Convertor to put back in? I see 'Ian Ian' managed to get by with just the 1st Cat, but isn't that one more restrictive? The other question is....... How do people with modified facelifts running big power manage to control emissions to pass the test? Or will simply putting Cats back sort the whole problem? Does anyone here run Race Cats, or are they pointless?
-
Hey there Rog buddy, (hope alls well). Is this really the only way to achieve a pass?
-
Hi there all, I know there has been much debate around emissions tests come MOT time, but as I have just had mine done today and failed Thought I would post up for peoples views. I was told my car 'has' to have a Catalytic Convertor style test being a 1998 model, and apparently my engine was in the data base too. I never expected the car to pass a Cat test with both 1st and 2nd decats in place, but it got no where even near passing. So out come the spanners to replace the second decat with the factory 2nd Cat, which will be staying in this time. Has anyone come up with alternatives, I just can't understand how all the big 'boys and girls' manage to pass come emissions test time? Appreciate any feedback discussions on the topic. Thanks All.

Superb news buddy - well done. Glad everything went so well, and you got back safe and sound too. So pleased for you that everything has worked out, my grin when the numbers popped up was priceless. All we need now is for the damn sun to come out to play!!

Hi there, I have the following items available, if anyone has any friends with a 4x4 Cosworth or a XR4X4. The parts all came from my old Ford Sierra 2.9 V6 XR4X4 1993 k - plate, last of the line model: - MT75 Gearbox - for a XR4X4 or Cosworth 4x4. Front Differiential Front Intermediate Shaft (Thick/Fat Later Version) Flywheel - will need a serious clean up with a resurface gone rusty. Sandwich Plate Odd bits I kept over from a 1991 - H Plate 4x4. Prop Shaft 2 x Front Drive Shaft (CV boots arent any good, but could be serviced). These are just thrown in if anyone wants them. I have dry stored these for years until today just incase I bought a Cosworth, but having a tidy up and I doubt I will ever use them. The only reason they came out of the car was because I transferred a complete engine and gearbox from a twin turbo into mine, and kept my originals as spares. Offers and Collection Only (located in Plymouth - Devon). Thanks for looking.

You want to wire this into the dimmer switch for the dash lights, you will have to test the side of the wire you need '+' feed when side lights on. Then when you put your lights on then at night the gauges will draw the feed from when the side light switch/ headlight switch is activated, illuminating your gauges. Job done. NB: I assume by small lamp they really mean side lights on, first stage of the headlight switch.

I have never seen that one before, really like the wheels colour match and dish. Thanks for sharing that one! Edit.... Just watched the video and recognise this one now, used to be blue and saw it drifting at aero drome after Supra Pod 2010. Enjoyed the video, much better in white

The 'Black Leather' with 'Aristo Black' looks really nice, I really like the pattern effect too. Imagine it would look great in a all black interior.
-
Yeah got mine this morning, and its your car on the back by the looks of it.

I think the ‘Pea Green Tardiest’ displays some real ingenuity on your part Stu, and your dead right it has some major potential with plenty of plus points. I can see it now all colour coded to the car with some race inspired team livery, will certainly be looking the part then for sure. That T6 manifold looks rather 'Large n Tastey' too, really great to see things progressing so well.

Hi there Johnd-mkiv, How much are we looking at for a polished expansion tank, with no holes drilled? Is it £50 Delivered? I just see that in previous threads that non polished were £10 cheaper, hence I see the £40 payments above. If its £50 Delivered, I would like one too please.

You have a good point here to be honest as I have never heard of the gentleman before. I would like to think that the information contained in the programme was indeed factual, it certainly had the desired effect on me though. I like your style. I think I will put my name down for one. Room for a small one. ha I think you really need to watch the programme and then make your own balanced judgement on the facts that hopefully were portrayed, but I thought personally that the problem we face was explained very well. I really like the analogy of the bath with the water running continiously, and the recent cuts portrayed as a mouthwash sized bucket bailing the water out trying to stop the bath over flowing. Eventually the bath will overflow, and the water is going to pour out all over the floor. I believe by this they mean possible terminal decline. Great to see so many people are so passionate about the subject too though.

Did anyone else watch the one off documentary broadcasted this evening? UK's financial crisis and its estimated £4,800,000,000,000 National Dept........ Yes that's £4.3 Trillion. Makes me feel embarrassed to be British to be truthful after watching the programme. I think the real problem is that people just don't understand the real 'cause and effect', and how we could possibly be in terminal decline thanks to the government running our lives. Surely we need to be doing something about this? Your views? Personally 'Hong Kong' sounds like a better bet

Great selection of pictures there. I like the 'Lge Soup' particularly, and the engine bay of the other red one with 'Pull N' on the plate.

Hey there Steve, Brilliant project thread really enjoyed reading it through to the present day, can't believe I missed it until this evening. The work continues hey, the new tensioner looks like a nice piece of kit.
-
Sorry to hear the very sad news. My thoughts are with you all at this very difficult time.
-
Excellent work there buddy, bet it wasn't easy welding with it in place on the car. Shouldn't have any problems now with that belt slipping.
-
Great news that your back up and running. Only just seen that you have had some major bad luck recently. Fingers crossed your new build will be okay.
-
Well done Stu and the team. That's certainly an impressive achievement, you must all be over the moon with your performance. Great to see all your hard work paying off and in front of such a big crowd too, will stay with you that experience. Night run hey, I bet that was quiet something your a braver man than me!! Hope the holiday is going well. PS.... Great mug shot too.

Always liked the GTR R32, 33, and 34's. Looked at buying a R33 GTR in white prior to buying my Supra, I was disappointed with the performance from the factory car though when I test drove it. Would still consider a R34 in white, but do like the smaller R35 its growing on me I must say. Wheres that lottery slip too best get picking some decent numbers......
