  1. Top secret front bumper in 040 Toyota white. It came with the car when it was imported front Japan. Selling as I am going back to std body shape. The bumper has the usual hair line cracks around the headlights and around the supports that connect the bottom splitter to the top part. These are just cracks in the gel coat that are showing through the paint. It is acceptable visually in my opinion but as the bumper is off it would better to give it a once over. Underneath the front right corner it has worn through a little, this was like this when I bought the car 5 years ago and it hasn't caused and problems. If any one has any good condition facelift side pods and plastics I would be keen to do a deal. Preferably in 040 as well. Then I will have some matching top secret skirts to go with it. Regards Anthony
  2. It had the issue 4 years ago when I bought the car and I changed it to a walbro one that's the usual upgrade for bpu. That was about a 2 years ago and about 5k miles and the problem hasn't changed
  3. My car is a 1996 tt6 jspec and sometimes when I start it if runs for 2 seconds then cuts out. If I then try and start it again it cranks for 5 seconds then coughs and splutters and it then runs fine. Or if I leave it 5 seconds before I start up (ignition on) it starts fine. It sounds to me like its a fuel issue but I was wondering if anyone else had this issue? Cheers Anthony
  4. All I did is torque it up to book figure and potentially tighter to line the next hole up for the split pin
  5. Hello. I have a 96 tt6 and I fitted 2 new rear wheel bearings to try and remove the play I had but even with new bearings it's still there. It's definitely not the top arms or any other bushes. Has anyone had the housing wear(upright) or the hub with the wheel studs on. Or a problem with the axel flange on the end of the drive shaft being to long and not clamping up on the bearing? Is there any chance of me having the wrong drive shaft for my hub. My car has the big diff big/big shaft combination. The bearings I took out when I changed them looked in very good condition and hadn't spun or anything. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers Anthony.

  10. hello i was led to believe that some parts in a lexus alternator can be fitted in a supra tt manual one with a little modification. Does anyone know what parts are interchangeable and what lexus they are from? i am after a rectifier, regulator and a brush pack if possible. cheers antno
  11. Anyone know if it's normal for the resistance on an earth the go up from .4 to 7.6 ohms when the ignition is switched on?
  12. Sorry I double checked the alternator body to earth this morning and it is 0.4 ohm but when the ignition is switched on it goes up to 7.6ohms. Is this normal? This was all on a cold engine with no wires connected to the alternator. Do you think a bad earth could fry the rectifie?
  13. The yellow wire goes to the ignition switch according to the Wiring diagram
  14. Hello My car is a 96 tt6 jspec I've got a problem with my charging system. I thought it was just an alternator so I have ordered a new one from mr t. The alternators not due in till end of sept so I bought a second hand one to get me about until then. The second hand one turned out to be one off an auto so it was a bit bigger and the connectors were in a slightly different place. I got her fitted but when it started I heard some electrical arching. Stripped it down and it looked like it was getting hot around the rectifier. Some of the paint had melted. So I stripped my original one down and again I found the rectifier burnt out I had been driving with this till the dash lights lit up. I checked the terminals that connect to the alternator and the main battery feed (b) was live. The white wire to the regulator was live (12.5v). The yellow wire was to ground. And the yellow and green wasn't connected to earth or live. This was all with the ignition switched off. Also the alternator body was earthed and had a resistance of 3.4 ohms. With ignition on all three reg wires became live. The White was 12.5v the others were 12.0v My questions are. Should that yellow wire be grounded when the ignition is off? Also had anyone else had rectifiers burn out? Cheers antno

  16. So normally the air comes in through the opening in the front bumper and up past the expansion bottle and aircon rad and into the intake bolted to the cooling rad?
  17. Hello I was just wondering on a standard tt was there any sort of cooling blanking panel above the air con rad and expansion bottle? I was just wondering where the standard air box pulled air in from. I know there is a intake under the headlight but I was wondering if any clean air came up into the intake on the rad? Cheers antno
  18. Norbar torque wrenches are good and made in the uk
