  1. Found this in the end direct from cusco Japan £60 each and 4-6 week lead time. I've tried all the big bearing traders and they couldn't supply one. If any one needs one co-ordosport are the people to talk to Cheers

    rad fan

It's been a while since I had chance to look at the fan situation. But basically the ac pressure switch that also controls the aux fan is located up by the abs pump. It goes in to the air con line and on the 2jzgte it has four wires. If you join the wires numbered 2+3 the fan will only be controlled by the rad temp sensor. The workshop manual was right in the end I thought the wiring diagram had been taken from a facelift car plus the other relay has abs written on it and this also controls trac and the rad fan. Anyway nice to get things sorted in the end.

    Aux fans

Sorry I've been a bell end. The 95 manuals has two relays one fan and the .97 has two relays two fans. I read it as fan one and two relay not fan relay one and two Sorry.
  4. Any idea what year this is? It is quite nice to have a book but was just wondering about US/Canada differences. Suspecting it will be left hand drive but that isn't a massive problem.

    Aux fans

Hi Can anyone tell me which cars had what aux fan set up? Mine is a 96 tt6 with one single fan. Did the auto have twin fans or the facelift? Or uk? I'm just trying to find the wiring diagram for the single fan set up but both the free 95/97 manuals that are about have two fan relays and the wire colours don't match with my car. I don't know if those manuals are exact copies or cut and paste jobs of different ones. Cheers antno
  6. Hello Just wondering if anyone has bought a set of workshop manuals from the states? There is a few full sets on there for various years but they all say for USA and Canada on them. will the manuals be similar or identical and cover all cars euro/jdm/USA? Many people on here got full sets of the manuals? I know about the free ones but they miss out a few pages and have nothing about rebuilding the gearboxes. Cheers antno
  7. The workshop manual says that aswell Anyone with any ideas
  8. Unless 17.4 is a typing error?
  9. Ye I have a restrictor ring in place. A 1 bar whifbitz one. I think the problem is a sticky wastegate as I have run a pressure feed direct to the actuator and blocked off the vsv. So in affect it should open the wastegate as soon at it hits the 17.4 psi not when the ecu closes the vsv. I was just wondering how the 17.4 psi is created to operate the wastegate actuator if the system only produces .8 of a bar. That is for example on a car as it left the factory completely standard. Cheers.
  10. Hi I was just wondering if anyone knows how the standard twin turbo set up creates 17.4psi (1.2 bar) when the system only boosts to .8 of a bar? I have been having a problem with overboosting but to be honest I haven't spent too much time trying to fix it. The car has been off the road. The last thing I have to change is the wastegate actuator. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers antno
  11. Remove the Anti roll bar to get the 12mm Allen bolts out. Unbolt drive shafts. 3 bolts onto prop plus the the bar that goes under the prop so you can lower the diff enough to slide the prop off. 2 bolts on the ears. I had to twist it to get it over the exhaust but it depends on the exhaust you have
  12. It's usually when the moisture freezes according to the body shop I use. Think it's called micro blistering. Happend to my car the first winter after the car was imported. It was on one if my wings and my spoiler. I repainted the spoiler but apparently somtimes you can fix it with a heat gun on low temp. It's not a permanent fix. It will need repainting at some point.

    rad fan

Ye running all the time. Only noticed it after I removed the aircon. I'm going to start tracing the wires back from the relay and find the ac switch. I'm going to have a look into it later this week Cheers pal

    rad fan

Ye the small fan in the cowl. I've tested the sensor and checked the relay. It was operating opposite to the two workshop manuals I had but it turns out they are both for the twin fan set up. I bought a new one from mr t and it was the same. I need to find the ac switch and remove it as I have removed my aircon. Do you know where it is under the bonnet pal? Cheers antno

    rad fan

any one know when the twin aux fan came in? i have a 96 tt6 jspec and im having issues with the fan. also does anyone have a copy of the electrical circuits workshop manual for a car with single aux fan i only have the 1995 and 97 copies and both have twin fans? cheers antno
  16. It's coming on when cold and I think it is prolonging my thermostat opening. It is just weird that its a genuine part that is working the opposite way round. I can't remenber it always doing it though. That's what makes me think about the air con. But still just change the point about the workshop manual. I can always make it work but would be nice to leave it the same way Toyota did it. Cheers antno
  17. I have removed my air con. Might be something to do with that. It's still odd that it operates opposite to the workshop manual. It is a bit of a shame I spent 57 quid on one and can't send it back. Is there any wiring diagrams about on the forum? Cheers
  18. Hi I have been trying to work out why my aux fan was coming on before my engine go up to temp? I checked my switch and that was fine so I checked my relay and it operates the exact opposite to the way the workshop manual states. So it puts the fan on when cold and switches it off when hot. So I ordered one from Toyota and it works the same way. It's the right one for my chassis number. Mines a 1996 tt6 with a single aux fan. It may have been changed before. Has anyone had a similar problem or found the manuals to be wrong? Cheers antno
  19. Anyone know where I can get some cusco top mount bearings from? I've tried co-ordosport/part box, tried local bearing traders and had a friends searching through most Motorsport bearing suppliers but I can't find them. The closest thing is the same as the tein one which is 2mm smaller on the od. The size I'm after is 35 od. 18 id. 16mm thick. Think the ball height was 20mm. I would be happy if I could get all but the I'd the same then just machine some new sleeves to fit in the middle Cheers antno
  20. have you got a diff cooler?
  21. hi just wondering if a tt diff needs cooling and oil squirted on the pinion for track work. i guess it would be a nice thing to do but has anyone had pinion failure or excessive wear due to the oil breaking down. i suspect if you were competing in a endurance race it would be needed. just wondered why they only fitted oil pumps to the uk tt diffs? has any one got any pictures inside the uk tt diff? just want to see if it directs oil to the pinion head. cheers antno
  22. Hi Currently I have a pair if 265/35/18 on the back and was wondering how wide I could go without it being dangerous or having a negative affect on handling. My wheels are 9.5j +30. Could I get away with running A 295 30 18. Also thinking about it. I have 235 30 18 on the front on a 8.5j. Would going much wider than that pull me all over the road with the state of British roads. The car is going to be driven in the summer and plan to do track days but with a different set of wheels and tyres so these will just be for dry days on normal roads. Cheers antno
  23. hi just wondering the best place to either blank or bypass the water feed to the throttle body and the idle air control valve. im not too sure where the system runs. is it the rear pipes that go around the back of cylinder num 6. im still running the tt setup so still need the turbo feeds. cheers antno
  24. Ye I fitted them and no it pulls well but is still overboosting. The only thing I have left to change is the actuator but have tested it and it seems to be moving maybe just not enough. Haven't really had time to work on it this year been flat out. I just have nothing to compare it to. The first turbo is quite noisy and it lags a lot between gear changes. Just need a bench mark to work too. Cheers
