  1. You don't need to change prop, diff or the shafts for the tt swap.
  2. Thank you very much Chris for that answer that's exactly what needed to know, when I get the new flywheel, clutch and damper I will give you a call and get all the items balanced by yourself.
  3. Also forgot to mention that I have posted this question on different sites to try to find out the right answer if there is one, and been told by few people who work and run tuning companies that should get crank balanced with flywheel and clutch but when checked there websites they are selling rebuilt and new forged short block engines for fair few grand, but I don't understand how on one hand they say get crank balanced with flywheel then on other hand sell built short blocks with no flywheel or clutch so how is the engine balanced if they don't know what flywheel and clutch will be fitted.
  4. That was an interesting read as I understand using balanced tools as in my job as cnc programmer I have to make sure certain tools are balanced perfectly for the job needed, But I still very confused over crank balancing as have been reading bits online all night while at work and am still unsure if it's best to balance crank with or without flywheel and clutch as the long term will be replacing gearbox and will require different flywheel and clutch and am I then going to have to pull engine apart again to get crank balance right. Hopefully few more people will have bit of insight as there is a lot of upgraded and rebuilt engines on forum so they must of come across crank balancing situation. Part of me is leaning towards just balancing the crank on its own as have noticed all the stroker kits for 2jz come with crank, rods and pistons which are all balanced of course but no flywheel, so in theory if one purchased a stoker kit and fitted it to an engine and then fitted new flywheel and clutch as you would, then would the engine be unbalanced
  5. It's good to know I not the only one thinking oblong these lines
  6. I have had this going though mind for a while so thought would open a discussion about engine balancing as I currently doing forged na-t build and have been advised by a few to get the new crank balanced with the flywheel and clutch plate. I am planning on running a lightened 4.6kg flywheel with the w58 gearbox and then in the future will upgrade the gearbox to either R154 or Getrag box which will require different flywheel. So the thought going through mind is if get crank balanced with flywheel and clutch then when I upgrade gearbox my engine and gearbox will be unbalanced? Plus have worked in engine building in the past and a crank was balanced as a crank and I am sure Toyota did the same when they made the supra, I can't imagine them balancing each one to the flywheel depending on box running, and another point going though mind is that can buy stock and forged built short blocks from different companies, so them engines would be unbalanced as they aren't balancing the crank with the flywheel or clutch customer going to be using??
  7. I had a similar problem with my supra and it turned out to be the positive wire from battery to fuse box was corroded.
  8. Well few little updates, my BC valve springs have turned up and have got new water pump on way. Also today my girlfriends Dad from Val-tech Solutions has done full chemical clean of my engine bay plus gave wheels a good clean, I cannot believe how clean the engine bay has come up. Next job is to treat the few rust spots, rub down engine bay and zinc prime ready for the new paint. Now have all the parts to rebuild head so going to finish off porting and polishing head over next few weeks at work then get head all rebuilt. Am waiting for new lightened flywheel to turn up then will get crank balanced with flywheel and then can rebuild block and refit head. I have ordered a new oil sump pan as mine was little dented
  9. I will take the water pump please, will PM you.
  10. Well got few more jobs done on Sophie today, I have painted the inner arches silver to keep them protected, have also removed battery tray, removed the rear sound deadening and finally got the Nos lines removed. Engine bay is now fully ready to be cleaned and repainted. Going to start on painting the engine block this week. Also have purchased some Brian Crower valve springs so when they turn up will have head built then can start on building block, as don't want to have built open block sitting in garage.
  11. Paid for me and the misses, looking forward to this [emoji4]
  12. I am up for tho for sure, won't be bringing supra as she's off road till next year. So if come in mondeo with misses it's £15?
  13. Have to was great weekend, and thanks to Darren and Burna for all the hard work. Going to try do move events with supra club as everyone is really easy to get on with and have good laugh.
  14. Bit of update on build, haven't had much time to get jobs done on car duo to working loads but have been buying parts ready, now have ARP mains studs, head studs, conrod and flywheel bolts, just waiting on the forged pistons and rods to turn up and return of crank from being checked and polished, all need to do is order full set of king bearings and paint block, then can set about building block. Have decided to on bc titanium springs and retainers for head plus may get new stronger valves aswell. Few pictures of the machined block sitting waiting, block was cleaned, decked and honed as bores were in good condition. I have also now removed engine bay wire loom, just need to remove the Nos solonoids and lines, and can get engine bay fully cleaned. I am off for week end of august so planning on having it all painted and the loom back in that week.
  15. Knowledge/advice bump please
  16. Cheers bud and I use a jewel filter system with 500 litre an hour pump with a carbon filter sponge. I only do a water change once a month and have had no problems or disease in over a year with water quality
  17. Loving the fish tank bud looks really good, here is our 70litre tropical tank, can't beat chilling watching the fish
  18. I after some knowledge please, I purchased a new crank for my forged build and the crank turned up with main and conrod Taiho bearings. And was wondering if anyone knows anything about them and if they are good bearings for a forged build, I was planing on running King bearings. But if these Taiho bearings are good for forged build with aim to run 600-700bhp then will keep and use these. Any knowledge and advice is very appreciated, if these bearings aren't good for build then will sell then on. Oh they standard size by the way.
  19. I wasn't planning on changing wheels but was looking to get daily 4 new tyres and was looking online at tyres and see these wheels and they do them with new tyres and they really stood out and thought I wonder if they will look nice fitted.
  20. I have been thinking about treating the daily to new set of wheels and was wondering if someone could photoshop the wheels onto car so can see what looks like please, so can decide if to go for them or not. Uploaded few side pictures as unsure what picture would be the best.
  21. Very sad news, I have been to the zoo few times as it's only up the road from me. Do hope they don't destroy the tiger as its only doing what's natural to it. And I also saw the black and wondered if was a local member.
  22. That engine bay looks stunning, really impressive [emoji106]
  23. I am 99% sure that the crank is fine and no sighs of score marks at all and the engine was running perfect before rebuild. Plus all the bearings were is good condition when removed the, all I having done to the block is a good clean and a hone as the bores are in good condition
  24. Thanks for all the information guys, I took engine block to machine shop and asked about crank and they have the faculties to remove all oil pump gear and fit new one. So I have ordered new briancrower oil pump gear thanks to Paul Whifbitz for putting link up. When the oil pump gear turns up will take crank to machine shop and at same time of replacing oil pump gear they will check crank balance and Journal sizes and give it a polish or regrind if needed
  25. I will give it go using bit of heat tomorrow and it no joy will take it to work and use one of the lathes to remove as work in CNC machine shop
