  1. Oh yea it’s just bolts just annoyed as off work for 10days and was hoping to get it built up to save me doing it when back at work as do over 60 hours a week and don’t get much time, i just hope the build doesn’t throw up anymore crap as was planning to have her running March/April time so can enjoy her again. I spent over 10k on build now and it’s so frustrating after spending that amount and top companies are the ones causing the crap for me , I still even haven’t had a reply email from King bearings after they sent me faulty bearings, it just seems these companies are happy to take money but not intrested in sending right parts or parts fit for use. And oh yes let’s hope new year is better for us all for sure
  2. I looked on his website and couldn’t see if open over Xmas but did order ARP head bolts, thought he should be quicker sending them out and can just send wrong one back in the new year
  3. Well I just can’t believe my luck I really can’t, I currently doing forged engine rebuild and it’s been one let down after another with people and parts but have tried to stay positive and focused on end goal but at minute I really do feel like throwing the towel in now. After all the crap I had with head ported and polished and finally get it back couple days ago, I was planning to finally get head on the built block today so can start moving forward with build. So late last night I start lining up all the gaskets and checking have the right nuts and bolts with each part, go to check the ARP head bolts and open the box to find they have put in main studs in by mistake, checked the code on box on there website and it should be head bolts but some how someone has put the wrong items in. I have emailed them with pictures but cause it’s Christmas obviously nothing can get sorted till next year so now can’t get engine built as planned which is going to put me further behind. I am so f***ed off with it all I just don’t believe my luck
  4. If your thinking of going na-t then I 100% recommend the Whifbitz kit. I will be buying this kit and pushing it to its limits myself and it’s great quality
  5. I use Mintex grooved & drilled discs with mintex pads, have found them to be very good brakes and haven’t experienced any brake fade during spirited drive
  6. Once she’s all running and have the Link G4+ fitted, I plan to remove dizzy and go coils plus will be getting front facing inlet manifold with direct port nos fitted. So for while will have the standard inlet system which I have also slightly ported & polished. Also plan on getting nice tt rocker covers and billet engine cover as no one really does anything nice for the GE head and don’t want the stock plastic covers after doing all this work
  7. Well some good news must, I got my ported and polished GE head back yesterday and it’s now rebuilt ready for fitting. I plan to fit in tomorrow so will upload all pics of head as it’s currently all wrapped up in garage now. I also have had my rocker covers sand blasted and they have come up really good, got few pit marks in them which will fill with some metal epoxy to get nice smooth finish before repaint them,
  8. Well not really a positive update as by now I expected to have engine built and in but duo to being let down more times than a prostitutes knickers, I am well behind. I still waiting for the head to be match ported and polished. I done all the normal port and polishing at work in one of the cnc mills and sent head to local company to be match ported to manifolds and have the lifters set to save me time but still after 6 weeks he hasn’t got it done, so after few choice conversations I am hoping to have the head back this week then I can set the lifters myself while off work and hopefully get engine all built ready for dropping in. While been waiting have cleaned, rubbed down and painted all inlet manifold parts and engine mount blocks (will upload pictures when they finished drying). I have also stripped and cleaned rocker covers but not happy with them still so they booked in for blasting Thursday then I can get them repainted and looking fresh ready for fitting. I am still hoping to have car running by April time but if honest can’t see it now as still have loads to do. Fingers crossed will have some positive news this week and can get on with the engine build.
  9. I agree with Paul, I had a competition clutch and it was horrible and terrible in traffic, I would also recommend spec clutches
  10. I used that app a lot and could do with it being updated to help me build my engine, it’s nightmare trying to find info online, fingers crossed the app gets updated
  11. Oh yes it’s stunning bit of kit, thank you for sending us the link for it
  12. My new Racinglines thermostatic oil cooler sandwich plate with two extra ports for sensors
  13. Cheers bud and it’s all coming together now at last. And it just felt like chatting to myself on the buildthread lol
  14. My Black Friday bits from Whifbitz turned up this morning, can’t wait to get these all fitted in next couple weeks
  15. I am very patient, I mean I have had a 1000bhp na-t build thread going for over year now and so far barely no ones commented at all and I update it every few weeks or month lol
  16. Cheers for that I like that idea will buy one of them And I haven’t given up on forum just yet but just fed up with it duo to lack of responses when post something up, plus always get people giving stupid answers which don’t help at all
  17. Yea that’s what I thought originally going to stick with 1st idea and us GS300 union bolt for the turbo feed that way know will get constant good pressure for the turbo
  18. I agree completely the forum is becoming ghost town that’s why always use forum 1st for info but never seem to get any luck and in my opinion I do believe it’s NA vs TT owners from my experience from the forum, which is a big shame. That’s why have started using Facebook more as people don’t seem to judge and comment with helpful advice and are intrested in my build progress, on here it seems no one bothered one bit
  19. Or maybe because it was a question from an N/A owner, as have noticed every time ask a question or for some advice no one bothers but if a tt owner ask something similar they get loads of responses. I do get the impression that people just can’t be bothered anymore on the forum, I will edit the 1st post back with original post, so other members can see for future enquiries
  20. What is the point of 50 people reading it not one commenting when asking for an opinion
  21. Thank you, I more or less knew answer as been planning this build for few years but always try thinking different ways to do things
  22. I agree the forum does need active members but get answers on Facebook and more responses, I will use the Facebook groups more now as at least get a response
  23. After some advice please as I nearly ready to fit all the bits on my forged ge build and want to remove the standard oil filter housing and just use 3 port sandwich plate and mocal thermostat plate for the oil cooler, I trying to work out which sandwich plate is best to place 1st please? As was thinking the 3 port plate as that’s where the oil feed for turbo will be place and don’t want turbo getting starved of oil but also thinking the mocal plate 1st and that will run the hot oil through cooler giving turbo cooler oil. Any opinions and advice would be greatly appreciated
  24. Small update while wait for head to be match ported to my inlet manifold, I made most of Whifbitz Black Friday sales and have ordered: Gates Racing Cambelt Pair of HKS slide cam vernier’s Whifbitz welded crack spocket Whifbitz billet cambelt bracket Toyota 2jz-ge head gasket kit I should have the head back in next week then can finally refit head and start bolting all the new parts and get the timing set ready for refitting engine after being out for a year...just hope I remember where everything goes lol
