  1. I HIGHLY recommended you have a chat with this guy! http://www.theflockshop.co.uk What he doesn't know about flocking isn't really worth knowing!
  2. I have bought a Nur Spec from a member here! LOVE it! Such a nice tone, though IMO is too loud without the bung.
  3. All in, I paid £285. That was a full re-manufacture of all four calipers incl. carriers. (My pistons were fine though) Also incl. paint in an aircraft grade product (halfway between their 'Basic' finish and 'High End')
  4. These are Jspecs. AFAIK, the don't have Supra embossed. They're just plain, a previous owner had added them. I'd certainly be interested to know for sure though before I complain!! Haha.
  5. Dnk and anyone else interested, brakes are back and on. Feck me....what a difference!! Photos and little write up here: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=305622
  6. I've had a few people here interested in seeing the end result of a complete overhaul of my Jspec brakes. Long story short, my NSF caliper seized which prompted me to inspect all four which became a massive can of worms! All were screwed, the discs were past their best and the hoses were showing signs of age! I'm really busy with work and currently buying my first house so not really had the time to be stripping / rebuilding / painting calipers, so I had a look around and decided to send them off to the Brake Caliper Specialists. ( http://www.brake-caliper-painting.com ) Turnaround lime was extended due to them also having a high workload. Ended up at 7 working days. In the meantime, I ordered new discs / pads / braided brake lines all round as well as new high temp Supra brake decals. Calipers arrived back on Friday and they went back on over the weekend. Car feels transformed!! So happy. Before: These pads came out of the same rear caliper! After: Service from the Brake Caliper Specialist was impeccable. Highly recommended. My only gripe is that I was told the calipers would be blasted prior to painting, but I'm sure mine weren't as you can see the old Supra vinyls under the paint. That said, the paint finish is great and now there's new vinyls and the brakes are fitted, you'd never know. I will be taking it up with them tomorrow though!
  7. I've put them in without either. Still got one more corner to do so not sure if I'll get squeal or not yet. Have put a very light smear of Copper Grease on all contacting surfaces so hopefully that'll help.
  8. Executive decision made, I'll fit without the shims! Cheers guys.
  9. Ok, thanks. Looking at it, I can't see why you can't just use the outer stainless ones if any!?
  10. I'm hoping to refit my calipers with new discs and pads tonight / tomorrow but I've just cleaned up the shims and some of the shims that sit against the pads, the dark coloured ones, are pretty shot. Can / should the pads be fitted without them? Can / should they be fitted in the state they're in or should I get new ones? Only reason for asking is the car has been off the road for two weeks and I REALLY want to get it sorted this weekend, but if I have to order more parts today, I won't get them until next week!
  11. The calipers didn't arrive today. I'm really hoping tomorrow. However, a Nur Spec did arrive!! Matt, I've got braided lines here, ready to go! I bought Genuine Toyota front discs that came painted to stop corrosion. Went ADL Blueprint for the rears and painted those yesterday in VHT black to match the fronts. Genuine Toyota pads all round though.
  12. I'll go down as a maybe. I'm up for it, but not sure if there'll be any family plans as it's Easter Sunday!! 1) Graham 1984 2) supraleepostcode teaboy teacup ohh (No gringo swearing) yerr I'm coming 3) Si's Supe
  13. Should be getting the calipers back today or tomorrow! Their service has been impeccable so far. Taken longer than expected as they're very busy but they've kept me informed the whole way. One point to note, those prices I've quoted there, turned out to be labour costs. Parts are on top. Though they discounted it as I sent all four, and then I bartered a deal on top with an upgrade to a painted finish. Got it all in for £270 in the end.
  14. Thank you. What exhaust is it? Does it drone in the car??
  15. Thanks for that. Every NA I've heard in the flesh with a decat has sounded raspy / tinny as arseholes! What was this one like??
  16. I've also been offered a Nur Spec R by a member but he seems to have gone dark on me!
  17. Needing a new exhaust for my NA. I have to admit, I'd like it a little bit noisy! Love the I6 sound. But, last thing I want is for it to drone inside on the motorway! So, a few questions- Will the Whifbitz single box be stoopid loud or will be easy to live with? Will the Whifbitz twin box be really quiet?? Being NA, it seems the 2.5" system would be better suited, but if I fitted a 3" system, would it have a drastic effect on performance? 3" would be more conducive to future plans.
  18. They're all listed as Out of Stock so the price reduction is certainly not in the fact they've been mass produced.....
  19. Aw, you have no idea how jealous I am of that!! Haha! Try and leave the Supra at home as much as possible, but I'm afraid it has to go to work every so often when the other half needs the Volvo! I'm surprised to hear that about Goodrich hoses. I was recommended by CW to use only those as others are not much cop. We shall see! They look alright to me though, I must admit.
  20. I'm more than capable of rebuilding a set of calipers. I did the UKs all round on my last Supra using CW parts. Unfortunately, I'm so busy with work at the moment, I've just put the car on axle stands and sent the brakes off to these guys: http://www.brake-caliper-painting.com . Their labour charge is £55 for the fronts and £42 rears. They're blasted and painted and come with a 3yr warranty. I bought genuine Toyota discs and pads. Not a fan of the cheap drilled / grooved discs. Once the calipers are back, I can just bolt the lot back with no fuss.

WTF!? Why have Eibach discontinued these popular springs for a popular cars!? Grrr! I wanted some more now I'm back in a Supra. So, a case of keeping an eye out for some grossly overpriced second hand ones now then!?
  22. All four calipers sent off for strip / paint / rebuild, discs / pads all round and Goodrich braided hoses! Soon mounts up!
  23. Haha, gotcha!! I know it's not desperately expensive but didn't want to spend that much when it doesn't NEED it. Just noticed they weren't solid today whilst prepping to refit my brakes after just spending £600 to overhaul them!
  24. Slightly off topic, but where are you guys getting drop links for 'a couple of quid'? Mine are a little worm but not that bad. Priced up ADL Blueprint replacements and they're £14.50 each front and £30 each rear!!

My last TT6 on Eibach Pros. Perfect IMO and the ride was real nice. That's on 18" BBS CH.
