  1. I just had a full respray done on my car, collected it yesterday after them having it for 3 1/2 weeks. It was MSB, now its shinier MSB MSB is the greatest Worst colour - any shade of green
  2. Would you be looking at developing further modifications to the heater control units to incorporate a control module?
  3. The idea of a V8 has been tickling my gooseberries since my last visit to Thor. They had their V8 Supra (2uz) up on the ramp; I have been pretty much convinced that a V8 conversion, with a V160 box, and a blower is the option for me. I have been considering going single (properly - £10k+) for a while now, all those plans are out of the window Be interesting to see some real world performance figures i.e: what power the block can cope with, what the rpm can be raised to safely, seperate figures for turbo and blown engines V8 Supras; its the future, i've seen it
  4. Different cars will suffer with different problems, at different times If you like the car, it all works, and nothing seems suspicious, then have it away. Worrying about problems which might occur will drive you mental! Just ensure that you regularly carry out basic maintenance, and get the car checked over at least once a year by someone who knows what they're looking for These cars are cracking on, expect to have occasional problems

    Hi

Welcome, where abouts in oxfordshire are you?

I'm sure I have heard of people running 450-500bhp on the stock autobox, lots of coolers bolted on though! I'm sure the TT autobox would be sturdier that the 5 speed out of the N/A
  7. Just a quick question - and excuse the kiddy style image! I Have fitted my boost controller; the solenoid is a three way jobby and I have plumbed it in like so.. vac line from compressor housing to port 1 on solenoid, port 3 vented through sintered filter into atmos, vac line from port 2 to wastegate actuator (as pictured below). Wastegate VSV capped off, wastegate actuator capped off. When energized, ports 1 and 2 are open - compressed air flows into wastegate actuator, opening the wastegate. When passive (is that the right term??), compressed air flows through port 1 and out of port 3 through the filter into the engine bay. Just wanted to check that this is all plumbed in the correct way before firing it up Cheers

Difficult to get money out of people who live oin benefits...
  9. Welcome! Cant offer you any advice on performance from each of the turbos you have stated, obviously the supporting mods will also be a factor The best thing you could do is to contact Jurgen (JM-imports), he's a member on here. Tell him what spec you want, tell him your budget, and let him sort the rest. As far as I know, he hasn't disappointed anyone that he has sourced cars for. It will be much easier and safer to have an established, trusted importer source a car for you Happy hunting Oh, and thoroughly research the pros and cons of owning a 600bhp Supra. What car do you currently drive if you dont mind me asking?
  10. Sounds like a fuse has blown, I think there is a fuse for the dash lights in the footwell, the rear fog modification is normally spliced into the same circuit Might be worthwhile checking whatever switch has been fitted, the switch might be the cause of the blown fuse
  11. A Todger For some reason, these people have put Hennessey all over their Todger - each to their own

Caught two 7-8 year old boys using my bonnet as a boost to get over the wooden fence in my car park... ...the two weeks later the council dropped a sofa on my drivers side rear 1/4 panel I completely understand what you're saying. My car is in for a full respray as we speak, I'll probably become obessive over where I park it from now on; well, more obsessive, I already park about a mile away from the entrance at Tesco Just makes you wonder if its worth it sometimes

I'd bite the bullet and shell out the £360, maybe take it to a different bodyshop though - you dont want it there for another 2 months!
  15. As stated; I have for sale, an ECU for a pre-facelift auto TT £150 I will be at SupraPod and can take it with me if anyone is interested Thanks
  16. I'll let you know mate, you're 2nd in line at the moment Cheers EDIT; just sold to Catfish man
  17. Just been to have a look, if I were to just drill the 4 holes and surface mount the scoop, it would sit about 1cm off of the bonnet. Thanks for the advice though. 1 x bonnet scoop kit now for sale!
  18. If you wouldnt mind mate. I have the whole kit bar the snorkel; scoop, 8 self tappers, 2 front mounts, rear mount piece, 4 nuts, grille, rubber trim, and a gasket. So if I just drill through th e bonnet using using the correct holes in the bracing as a guide, thid kit should theoretically fit flush? Thanks
  19. I see your point but it was purely for cosmetics, I really like the look of the UK scoop. Not too keen on getting our british weather all over my engine bay though!! After having another look, it would seem that i'll have to cut the sections out of the bonnet - balls.. May have to knock the idea on the head
  20. My car is going in for a respray tomorrow. I had intended on having them fit a UK scoop which I bought from toyota a while back. I had been assured that it would just be a case of drilling four holes through the bonnet as to mount the scoop on the existing bracing. Seemed straight forward, but it looks like I wont be able to use the original mounts unless I cut the two sections out of the bonnet - which I dint want to do. How has this been tackled before? Is it just a case of drilling four holes and using long self tappers? Any advice appreciated
  21. Had your dad owned the car long? Only reason I ask is that green supra with a TRD spoiler, and black stripes up the bonnet used to be spotted around my home town (Banbury, Oxfordshire). I wont say what I thought everytime I saw it (), but it looks like the same car
  22. Just incase anyone stumbles on this in the future; I had my car delivered to thor racing yesterday. They were able to diagnose and rectify the problem within an hour.. Basically the 12v feed into the ECU which controls the main EFI relay (pin 31 on the single multi-plug), had a bad connection. Someone ([OOPS][/OOPS]) must have been a bit rough with the wire, and caused it a bit of a mischief. One of their engineers was able to source a replacement section of wire with a decent crimp on it; he fitted that into the multi-plug, soldered it in to loom, and the car was running fine. I'd like to add that although i'm a "hav-a-go-er", somethings are best left to the professionals. I was tearing my hair out trying to figure out what had caused this problem, and they sorted it in an hour.... ....Oh, and since visiting there today; i'm very much interested in the v8 supercharged conversion I spoke to them about :eyebrows:
