It's quite strange how they work, basically the offset (gain) determins when the boost is adjusted. If the solenoid opened as soon as it saw 1.2bar, you would never see 1.2bar due to the de-pressurisation from the solenoid opening the WG. Every setup is difference hence why most of the time gain values are different. When I had mine setup I had the boost set at 1.2bar but I had the gain set quite high so that during the transition it would spike to 1.3bar then settle down to 1.2. Try that if you want to see an animal BTW there is no danger to the turbos spiking to 1.3 at 4krpm, the turbos aren't working very hard at those levels. The one thing to keep an eye on there is the AFRs but given that you are seeing 10s you are WELL within what you need to be. Keep going with the gain till you see a steady 1.2 and a peak hold of around 1.3-1.35. You'll mess yourself when they come online lol.

If they are off true I wouldn't touch them to be honest.

Made no odds on the one we went to in Newcastle. We lined up in 2 rows facing each other 10 ft apart and just unloaded. -

You just reminded me of this... A few months ago I was at a funeral for an ex work collegue. Right down the front row was a kid with the trade mark white shirt and spikey hair with his face stuck in his DS from the start of the service to the end. I reckon he was 10 or so. The fact that he was near the front would suggest to me that he was likely a relative of some sort yet his parents, who were actually next to him and not on some distant planet, didn't seem to care less. Unbelievable. The funny thing is I heard a few people comment on how rude the kid was. I personally don't blame the kid in the slightest, the parents should be the ones getting strung up. -
Ahh, cable ties will probably be fine but they will need to be able to handle some heat. Without the gain (offset) being set you won't see a boost increase. I had the same issue with my EBC a few months ago I had mine set at 56, give it a go around the 40 mark and work your way up.

Oh, and just so you know... these stainless surrounds are readily available now. Not from a forum trader or hobbyist as far as I am aware though... http://www.metal-monkey.co.uk/acatalog/Supra_MKIV_A_C_Control_Plates.html -

I don't have any issue with anyone in particular, in fact I would go as far as to say I quite like you and your response given here. It's actually quite refreshing, if it's true (I couldn't get through a whole post without being cynical ). I just don't like seeing some people getting questioned on their motives while other people aren't so when I see a thread flying under the radar as far as the rules go I tend to question the OP. I think the term "hobbyist" is just coined for people looking to sell small batches of whatever. Trader is coined for people selling larger batches. I don't really think it matters where you get the items from, or whether you make them yourself, if you are supplying them to forum members there has to be a certain responsibility to the forum. Firstly you must be accepted by the moderators to put forward an application, the application must then be accepted by the members. This, for me, is to substantiate your responsibility on the forum when selling items and to show other members that you are in fact trusted with the products you are selling. The fact that you are just starting off with a few items I would suggest that they are raised as a group buy. A group buy isn't just started with a thread title stating that, they are subject to application through the moderating team. The moderators will put the suggested group buy to the traders on the forum to make sure that they cannot supply the said items, and if they can they are then given the chance to supply them under the same terms as the proposed group buy. Once you get the go ahead you start a thread with "group buy" as the prefix and mention in it that it has been approved by the mods. Once that's done you are golden. If you have a few non-profit hits then I would suggest applying for hobbyist. That way you can make a little profit on the items that you are selling, if you so choose, and you can also supply in larger quantaties meaning that the prices to the members would also be less.... win win. -
Yeah that's definitely right bud. I can only assume there is something wrong with the boost controller or the way it is setup. Have you turned the gain setting up? Edit: By the way, those caps dont look too clever. Remember there will be over a bar of boost behind the one on the top of the rats nest. Once the engine is warm it will be very supple so will probably pop right off. Best to get a stock clip on there to hold it in place
-
Can you show a picture of where the boost controller is plumbed in bud, I can't see it. Cheers

If the alloy isn't good quality then they must be lying about what they are using in the Ad. From what I remember t6 6061 is pretty good stuff. I'm sure that's what we used in the work and it came up lovely.

Definitely, trouble is they don't and most parents don't seem to be the slightest bit motivated to do anything about it. It's rare I even see kids outside playing nowadays, they are mostly in their houses playing 18+ games on their consoles/pcs. I've thought that for a while, I don't blame him though it's a cracking money spinner he has going. -

As I said, regardless it has to be a group buy as far as I'm aware. I did some mats a while back, I didn't make any money on them but wanted to offer them to the guys here. It also meant that we could get a logo with enough buyers. Had to be a group buy though, through the moderation team. -

I would actually rather point it out to the people doing it hoping that they would have some decency to be honest. The ones who don't are a different matter and I have reported them in the past although through PM rather than report post. Edit: Hope you're giving yourself infraction points for the swearing -
Really? A blind chimp could manufacture that on a CNC machine lol.
-
You'll have no issues with those pulleys. They are made the same way from the same materials as all lightweight pulley sets. They don't need to be particularly accurate (Although the fact they are CNC made will take care of the accuracy). The only lightweight one not to touch would be the crank pulley. The ones that Paul sells will be lighter, well the PS one certainly will be, as it has a few holes in it to help lower the weight

Not at all, if you put a gun in someones hands it doesn't make them dangerous. They either are already..... or they aren't. -
It's best not to ask Toyota what you need, no idea what you would end up with. You want a timing belt tensioner, timing belt, aux belt and if it hasn't been done a water pump, thermostat and 10l of pre-mixed coolant. Timing belt - Toyota Tensioner - Ebay Bin the belt though Aux Belt - Toyota or me Water Pump - Toyota Thermostat - Toyota Coolant - Toyota or Halfords or any other motor factors.

Na.... it would make me cynical. -
No Glasgow option? I think there are more members around the central belt than there are east coast. If we were going for seperate nights out I would rather Glasgow than Edinburgh, it's cheaper and I know my way around very well. If going for a joint group I would be happy to follow the masses.
-
Last water pump I bought was £120, probably up to £130-£140 now.
-
I've got an aux belt you can have for a good price. Genuine Toyota, no use to me as I have an ATI pulley. I bought it not knowing I needed a different size.

I can supply things that I don't make. What I pay for them and what I charge for them is 2 different things though. In either case a group buy thread agreed by the moderation team would need to be in place. I couldn't care less but when there are guys getting pulled up for offering to help members out by diagnosing their cars on their rolling road because they aren't traders it's just unfair that other people feel that they can slip under the radar. This forum is getting rife with it now. -
