JamieP's Black Beast (update 1132bhp & 840ftlb at hubs)

What did they reckon the prop would be good for? -
Just checked and those cables won't work without a converter which is pricey. I've been thinking about this though, does the TV not have analogue input? Can it not take a scart cable or RCA or VGA? What model is the TV?

At least you didn't select "Joke" prefix

Fully understand your situation mate I used to have loads of bits and bobs lying around that I could have thrown together, typical eh lol. I'm not sure if these work or not. If they do it could save you a lot of money and hassle. That way you can get whatever you want.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dell-Optiplex-GX280-full-size-Tower-PC-2-8ghz-SP3-XP-/110764942170?pt=UK_Computing_DesktopPCs&hash=item19ca1ae35a http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dell-Optiplex-520-PC-P4-3-0GHz-512MB-40GB-CD-ROM-/180693029150?pt=UK_Computing_DesktopPCs&hash=item2a1224d11e Notice the "make offer"

Must admit I haven't seen that one lol. The episode that was on last night involved them playing with the ball. George threw the ball for Peppa to catch but she didn't catch it. She claimed that George threw it too hard for her to catch and so that meant that she won. She then threw the ball really hard right of George's face, after which she claimed that he failed to catch it so she won again. This is just one episode though, they are all similar in that way. My Wife was quite surprised by it when she actually watched a bit. For me that's bullying, although perhaps as Charlotte suggests it doesn't really matter at the age Iris is at (18 months). I'll be steering her away from it when she gets a little older though as I wouldn't want her treating her little brother or sister, should we have any more, that way.

My cousin gave hers away a few weeks ago. 17" TFT and everything. In fact I have a 17" TFT monitor you are welcome to, however I don't have the power adapter for it (at least I didn't the last time I had a quick look). The trouble with the free ones is that they may not have the mainly required PCi-E slot. Whatever PC you buy just make sure it has that slot as it's what the GFX card with HDMI will plug into. There are alternatives but they are more expensive from what I remember.

I actually toyed with that, I had the theme tune in my head a few weeks back and it planted the seed. The trouble is I really enjoyed it as a kid. As with most things I'm willing to bet that if I got a hold of some of the episodes I would be infinitely disappointed by how bad the show actually is Some of the episodes right themselves at the end with everyone laughing at Peppa yeah. I guess I never thought about what messages would actually get soaked in at that age though. That's a great analogy of the show, pretty much spot on lol.

If replacing the crank you will definitely need to replace the main bearings. Not sure about the big end bearings. The crank will need bought and sized to see what main bearings are required. The caps are matched to the block so those won't be required as long as the bearing spinning hasn't caused any damage. If the caps are damaged you will need new ones and the block line-bored to match. Cheaper to buy a 2nd hand block though IMO.
-
The dongle can go into either. If the budget is REALLY low I would say the PC would be the better option as you could pick one up silly cheap (people even give them away now to save space) and buy a cheap GFX card with HDMI out for around £20.

I'm definitely planning on one of the above and while both clutches are similarly priced I'm finding it difficult to figure out which one will be best for me. They are both similarly priced but as the RPS is that price in the US it would suggest, if you take "you get what you pay for", that the RPS is the more premium clutch as if it was over here it would demand a fair bit of a price hike I would imagine. The RPS comes with everything required to fit (flywheel bolts, release bearing etc), I have no idea if the Carbonetics one does. The RPS has it's own specially designed pressure plate, rather than using stock. No idea with the carbonetics. The Carbometics is easily available in the uk (From Paul) but the RPS would need to come from the US (No local support). I've read a lot of posts on SF about the RPS but there isn't a great deal on the carbonetics ones hence why I'm asking here. The guys over there for the most part say it drives "like stock". There are a few that say this is a load of bull though and while the clutch is a very nice drive, it's nothing like stock with the way it bites etc. I could be doing with some honest and frank opinions to help me make my mind up. It's a fair old chunk of cash that's going to be thrown into the ring here regardless of which way I go so I at least want to make an informed decision Thanks folks.

She has loads of Hello Kitty stuff but we haven't watched any yet

It was and it wasn't. I don't REALLY care, I just find it strange that someone would have this sort of idea for a young kids show. It's as if they have pent up aggression to their sibling or someting. Anyway I'll get out more once my wee girl is better. For now, and as long as she needs me in the house giving her a hug in front of whatever dross she wants to watch, I'll do what needs to be done

Don't listen to him, just get ready with the hankies when it's time for him to dry his eyes. -
The front bearing cap is cap 1, 7 is the rear most cap. You can tell because the front cap is the different shape/design one for the front of the camshaft & seal.
-
That's pretty wierd to be honest. I'd rather watch the "channel not available" screen from Virgin than choose to watch Peppa (or ITNG for that matter).
-
Well they are a matched set from the factory so if they were in the wrong positions I wouldn't be surprised to see wear. I would always go with what Toyota stamped on them rather than the order the last person to take them off put them on in.... especially given that you have a bearing missing.
-
It's a screen barely a few inches thick that displays moving images with sound. Be careful when you turn it on if you get one though. If you see a train coming at you don't worry, it's actually a light emitted representation of a train rather than the real thing. Some people were badly caught out with that one a few years back
-
They aren't family members with family values and morals though. That's cat and mouse (and dog) which is allowed
-
The cam caps are already numbered bud. I1-I7 and E1-E7
-
That looks insane lol. The drivers door wasn't half getting thrown about though.
-
Hahaha To be honest I don't really resent it that much, it's still on, I just find it strange that a kids show would have so much bullying in it.

My little girl is going through a mini-phase with this show. She is ill at the moment so has been watching more TV while chilling than usual so I've been pretty much forced to watch it. I don't really understand how this is getting passed off as childrens television. IMO it isn't fit to be shown to young kids. Anyone that has seen it might know what I'm on about, for those that don't it's about a family of pigs with Peppa being the older sister of 2 siblings. She has a little brother who she basically terrorises through the entire series. He worships the ground she walks on yet she is constantly cruel to him, taking advantage etc. Now, this is probably a reasonable portrayal of real life but surely the younger generation should be taught about sharing, kindness and friendliness rather than bullying and selfishness right from the off? It'll be In the Night Garden from now on
