Looks really good Matt, just what we've come to expect from Jon. Can't wait to see your facelifts with the HID's, I 'm looking forward to finally ordering a set of headlights after I get my bodywork sorted.
-
cheers for the sympathy PAG. Well to cut a long story short they've taken what appears to be a good sized lump of concrete or half brick and smacked it as hard as they could into the door then done much the same to the wing and bonnet. There's a rant..... I mean thread about it in the Off topic bit. Still can't get over them doin that. Hence my bleeped out little signature! I'm gonna take some before and after pics once I get it to the bodyshop.

Haha did you provide a Hovis picture when they asked for one Eve? just kiddin

Bloody hell Fifty, Looks like one of those National Heritage gardens back there. Feel for ya havin to strim/cut/tidy up all that! Here was me wishin I had a garden instead of just a tiny drying green behind the flat. Now I'm kinda glad I don't have one Lol.

Yeah, Nice house mate and a nice Sup to park outside it. Very

I think they'd look just like the Supra! My cars only a 95 N/A but i tell you what it gets more attention that brand new cars that cost Sooooooo much more. Its been parked outside the flat(has been since the wee sh*tes vandalised it) today and there have been a couple beemers a very expensive Merc coupe, one of the new Alfa coupes and a brand new Saab 93 parked next to it so far. It doesn't matter whether its blokes, women, children, even old folks seem to look at the Sup and not the other cars. I'm abit paranoid after it was vandalised last week but its nice to see people look at it and smile. I've even had a couple tango'd up hotties stop and take pics of each other on there mobiles next to it Lol Still smiling everytime I drive her!

Sounds like I'll be ruling out the Transit connect for certain then! I'm thinking Corsa so far since I've had a Vauxhall before and know that they are easy to get parts for/service. I like the thought of the Jazz as its a jap car and I didn't realise it would be that spacious in the back. Cockers are bigger than Lhasa's and if your mum gets 6 in then there'll be plenty space for mums two. I'm guessin that the VW will be a fair bit more expensive to buy than the others but I'll look into it. Cheers guys

Haha I'll be driving it as gently as possible as it's not mine but thanks for the tip Edge. Was it just your driving style or was it an issue with the reliability of the van? Any one had any experience with the Clio diesel vans? She quite likes the style but I'm no convinced it'll be the most reliable since its french?

Cheers H, This is exactly the kind of advice I was looking for. I've just changed jobs and I'm gonna be doin a lot of mileage till I can decide where I want to be (100 mile round trip each day unless I move) so mum has kindly offered me the car when she gets it till I get myself sorted out. Hopefully I'll get it all sorted quickly. Don't wanna miss out too much Sup driving time. Just need to get her the best car to suit her needs now.

Advice needed, Due to the fact that most of you guys have a second car or other car in the family I need your advise on the above. My dad is buying my mum a wee car and wants to know whats gonna be good to go for. As above it needs to be fairly cheap to run. It won't be brand new but will be as low milage as possible. Mums just wanting it for an economical car to get her from A-B in relative comfort, not high speed as would be my criteria She has two little Lhasa Ahpso's to carry about too so was actually considering even a little hatchback van for convenience. I suggested a Clio/Corsa/206 but any suggestions you can give would be great! Cheers Dave

I didn't realise there were so many Supra's in the new Transformers movie!
-
Superb! Cheers for that Nic, will probably be in touch with you at the end of the month.
-
Nic do you supply the temp and fan Alloy covers and the dash rings that are shown in those pics? Getting my dash done at the end of the month and I think these would be a nice touch. Cheers Dave

Kinda reminds me of the Rat Rods(hope the names right) that they run in the states. They keep the colours/finish to a minimum and concentrate on the tuning and actually driving the cars. By the above I'm not saying you haven't spent loads of time money and effort on it just that it reminds me of these. As suggested slap a low aggresive kit on it and I think it would look even more menacing roaring up behind you and then disapearing into the distance. (as is the Supra way)

Tell me about it! I'm sure the noise I'm hearing everytime I hit a pot hole in the road was caused by goin over our beloved Arbroath speedbumps. Never mind I'll be spending most of my time either up north in Aberdeen or down at the girlfriends in Kirkcaldy from now on. Got a new job up in Aberdeen. Wooohoo more cash to spend on the Sup! Looking good though Mike, Supra Dan's car should be ready soon and mine goes in to be repaired at the end of May. I know there's an Aberdeen meet in June but it might be nice to have a Tayside meet sometime soon. Maybe even a convoy if anyones goin down to the Fast & Modified?
-
Lookin superb Mike! Just adds that extra something to your motor. Now you'll have to be even more careful on the speed bumps! Dave.
-
Wow! now they are sexy! [sHOCK][/sHOCK] Haha! Not to hijack your hilarious thread, but did anyone get any further with the dark/black tinted side repeaters. If not how do I remove the repeaters ready for an aftermarket set? I'm thinking a dark smoked set would look good when I finally get round to getting a set of Jon's black facelift look lights with the chrome rings.
-
That'll be a no then! In my opinion you've got a very smooth/curvacious kit (no many supra's that don't)so I would go with a classy deep colour. If your thinking Gunmetal or Candy then your on the same wavelength. Now you've just gotta find an original colour but still classy with a real depth to the paint finish. Green? Lol
-
Is it just me or is Gunmetal the new Silver for Supra's? Not saying it doesn't look stunning but you need to choose something a bit more original. Someone else on here quite recently was talking about Candy apple red, don't know if they went for it or not but again it'll become more common. Something I've very rarely seen on a Sup is the purple mentioned earlier. I know its common place on certain Nissans but other than the Do-Luck Sup I've not really seen it on one. Would look stunning with your kit and a carefully chosen set of wheels mate! p.s. Watch this next post there'll be fifteen bloody pics of Sup's in Purple! [GRIN][/GRIN]
-
I can now rule out revenge.... reported it to the cops and they told me that three other cars had similar damage in the same car park. Hopefully the Sup wasn't the main target and led to the rest gettin done too [sAD][/sAD]
-
Would be good to see a supplier open up up here. Can't really recommend Arbroath though unless you have Lockable dust caps and a big golf club Lol
-
That shiny pair(there were only two when I bought the car, not even a whole set) were worth a mere couple pounds. Now they are the most expensive dust caps ever. I'm guessing in the region of £800. On closer inspection they have damaged not only the passenger door and wing but the bonnet too. They dug into the panels too so I can't see them being beaten out easily. Does anyone know how much a respray might cost for the panels? or any of the Tayside/Scottish members able to recommend a body shop to do it??? The bloody suspension is now making a funny noise too I'm totally gutted!
-
Well folks, things couldn't get any worse now, I'm in total confusion about the job offer I got and today can also conclude this thread I started. It really doesn't pay to stop them doing it. Banging on the window and telling them off didn't do anything other than make the hell bent on revenge. Wish I had just let the theiving little B*s*a*d's take my sodding valve caps. Went out to get in the car and go to work. Sensed something was wrong and decided to have a walk round the car. Was confronted on the off side of the car with a 3/4 inch deep by around 3" dia rock/brick gouge into the side of the car on the passengers door. Plus some deep scratches on the wing. No amount of T-Cut is gonna sort this and I'm guessing I'll be looking at new door skins & wing. I'll post up pics tonight and hopefully one of you helpful people can estimate the cost of a repair and recommend a good bodyshop . They've got what they wanted, was just about in tears this morning when I saw what they'd done. Needless to say I'm totally fucked off!!!
-
V nice indeed! I can feel a how-to coming on if there isn't one already.
-
Doh! must pay more attention. A little smoothing and blending it all together could go a long way! Like I said I really like your car. Before I bought the Supra I had considered an MX5 and goin down the full smoothing route and making it look almost porsche boxteresque. Glad I bought the Supra now, but its a look i think really suits it. Haha admit it......it'll never be done!
