Aye its a wee bit like a drag-spoiler/boot extension that I'm thinking about. Doesn't actually leave contact with the boot at any point. Its probably been done before but; I have to say that goin for a spoiler like that then blending it in and blending the stock bumpers in too would look pretty no shut lines at all. Then you could completely shave the rest of the car taking off the door handles and giant standard radio mast of an aerial. The right rims and suspension and it could look really stunning for very little cash.

Thats pretty shocking Michael! I live next to a pub and have only seen that once but the guy that did it was pissed out of his mind. No excuse I know but you expect it here but not if the car is on your drive. I tend to make sure the cars no where near the pub at the weekends just to be on the safe side. My girlfriend had her wipers nicked recently. I went and got her a new set from Halfrauds not thinking. Then the next morning the new set were gone too. Apparently its quite a common thing these days, at least thats what the sales guy told me when he saw I was back for a second time. Time for me to get a lock-up me thinks !

Keep it spoilerless mate! seems to make it look more agressive on the white cars. Either that or go with a small Abflug? Keep the lights! the black and white thing works in everything apart from the alloys. Ditch the black rims! maybe go with black with a nice polished lip if you have to go for black on the wheels. All black just looks like someone's been off with your wheels (as mentioned above) not just your dust caps Allround though I'm really liking your car bud!

Brilliant Stevie! I'm just down the road from the police station so me jumpin around the pavement in my pants at 6:30 in the evening whilst swearing at two lads might not be the best idea. Doubt if they'd do it again, not the best rep to have though Lol!

Liking your thinking H! Think I'll be going with your suggestion Simon. Was gonna say I guess I maybe am over sensitive when it comes to the Sup, but no i won't admit it. I've saved up for it, taken the time to find a nice one and I'm not gonna have it ruined. My girlfriend says its cause I'm from the country and town folk just don't think the same. Personally when I was a kid if I'd seen such a beautiful car with nice dust caps I'd have said wow, hopefully one day I'll have a car like that and rode off. I wouldn't do anything to other folks stuff I wouldn't want done to mine. Maybe Vicky is right and I should have stayed calm. I just hope I don't have an incident like Stonkin and get up tommorrow to find bits of car everywhere.

Back me up on this one guys. You've parked your pride and joy outside the flat and are inside havin some dinner. You see two kids cycling up to your car and stopping. They both bend down out of sight and are on the other side of the car so can't be seen. Do you A. Think nothing of it, they must just be admiring your wheels B. Keep an eye on them but say nothing, at the end of the day if they want your dust caps they'll take them anyways Or C. Bang on the window and tell the nasty wee sh*tes to b*gger off before I come out there and break their fingers so they can't ever pinch another set. CNUTS! As I'm sure you can all guess I chose the latter. My girlfriend has told me that it was wrong to do so and I was told that since I've gotten the Supra I've become overly protective of it and far more aggressive. What would you have done? and has anyone else contracted protective rage? p.s. anyone know the best brand of locking/tamper proof dusties? p.p.s is it me or are kids these days gettin worse

Hey Folks, Its taken me a while to get back after doin the fitting but its now done and sorted and there's no more rattle from the boot lid. It was a total pita to get thos screws out but as Paul advised me, cut away the old rubber then just use mole grips and brute force to unscrew them. New ones make the boot close nice and tight! If you need these I can definately recommend getting them from Paul. A good price and they got back to me within about one working day. He was also really helpful when I sheared the screw head on the first attempt! Dohh [ANGRY][/ANGRY] Whats next on the 'easy to do' mod list?

Had another look and tried to suss it out and it looks like I just need the bottom clip part. Cheers for the part no. Mark. I'm assuming you just buy the whole assembly clips handle and all? While I was sitting in the car got thinking about the next mods. Looking to spray the dash panels possibly. I'd been wondering why the ash tray didn't work properly. Seems its got a pin missing. It's little things like this that are making me love the Supra even more. I know its an old car but it feels good to know how its put together. And know I can still tinker with it and fix most things myself. Cheers again Mark Dave

Metallic green is a very classy colour mate! Not that I'm biased or anything you understand;) What ever you choose we definately need some pics.

How much did you pay to get your dash panels sprayed
Greenauto replied to edge's topic in Supra Chat
I'm thinking about doin my dash panels too. gonna use the advise given here and try doin it myself too. The panel I'm gonna start with is a broken spare one anyways so I'll give it a go on that. Most of my dash panels are still in tact and unscratched. Is it gonna look really silly if I just do the auto box panel in a gloss black? or should I do the whole set? If it all goes pear shaped I can always get the local sprayers to do it. -
Drove up north middle of the week for an interview, while I was up I thought I'd pop in past my folks house and take mum for a spin in the Supra(she'd not been in it yet) The roads were a bit crappy but she totally loved the car and it was a nice we drive to show her how great my new car is. Only problem....... on getting out of the car she grabbed hold of the passenger grab handle. Off it came in her hand. Not completely but she managed to break the bottom half. Does anyone have one they don't need or has one of the traders got one for sale? Probably need the clips/screws too. Cheers Dave

Where do you guys find these Mobile aircon guys. I know there's more selection where you guys are down in England but the cheapest I've seen so far is around £70. Sorry to High jack the thread but is there anyone local to the tayside area providing this service at a similar price? You guys have got a real bargain there!

Just did the exact same thing Shameless! No end to the swear words. I don't have a vast selection of tools either so I'm havin to wait for my brother to bring his down. Same thought.... easy ten minute job Why o why didn't i douse them in WD Out of interest is there some way to get down on level with the bottom screws any better? remove the actual rubber boot seal in that section? Seems I'm going in at a really dodgy angle?

BUMP I know the logical thing would be to turn it down and wait for something closer but what if that doesn't happen? Yesterday I was all woohooo I've been offered the job but today I'm all god I'm gonna have to turn it down. Feelin pretty down about the whole thing now:(

Hmm really unsure! I might be able to get the company to up their offer. If I sell the Sup then I'm gonna loose money on it. Plus I really don't wanna do that as I really do love the damn thing. The new job will give me more scope for development and job progression. but its a long way away(distance). If it were on my door step like my current work then I'd be taking it like a shot! I've done the hundred mile round-trip commute before and If I can avoid it I will Any one with any more wise words? Dave

Well guys and gals I face a Dilemma and I need your help. To explain a little. I live and work at the moment in Arbroath. The jobs boring with no real career development. Pretty much the only thing that holds me here is that its closer to my girlfriends than when I used to stay up in Peterhead (100 mile north approx. of Arbroath) About a month back I went for an interview with an oil company in Aberdeen(half way between Arbroath and Peterhead). The interview went well and I felt pretty good about it. They told me they'd let me know that week. The weekend came and I'd heard nothing. That weekend I was due to pick up my Supra. Not even worrying about the job I went and collected the car. Then the next week got asked along for another interview with them. went to the interview this morning and was offered the job. Its a better job with better prospects and more chance of moving up the company. Problem is it only pays around a grand a year more than I'm on now! What do I do? drive almost a hundred miles a day up and down, putting milage on the car? Try to find a lock up and a cheap reliable commuter? or sell the supra and buy something less gas guzzling but utterly boring?[sAD][/sAD] This is feckin annoyin! the job was crap but everythin was goin smooth, now this has come along and my head is total mince! What should I do?

Cheers Mike, last time i got the Veccy done it was £75 from a garage in Carnoustie but was kinda hopin to find somewhere a bit cheaper. Maybe just have to bite the bullit. Hope it just needs re-gassed!

Does anyone know of a good(cheap) place to get my air-con checked over and regassed in the Angus/Fife area? Motor is engaging and the dash light comes on but there's no cooling of the air. I guess the supra is supposed to go as cold as my old Vectra did. I'm hoping it just needs regassing and there's no probs with the pipe work leaking. If the weather continues in the way its going I'll definately need it. Full black interior and leather seats = fookin HOT! Bit pissed off cause I was gonna spend the cash on a set of refurbed lights from Jon!

Some pics of the top and bottom rubber block(bootrubbers) in my car. Definately think the bottoms need replaced. what do you guys think?
-
Fantastic! Just exactly what I was needin Paul. Do you take paypal? if so could you pm me with the details so I can send you the payment. How easy is it to fit them? I think i need the full set as the bottom rubber bits on mine are worn through and the metal piece is showing. I'll take pics the morn. The top harder plastic bits seem fine though. Cheers
-
Does anyone either have a new unused set they don't need? or know if any of the traders do these? Need to stop the rattling! Cheers Dave
-
Hope so! I'm still keen to get a set of j-spec black facelift style lights from Jon, but if this works that well I may leave the purchase for a while. Gonna try over the weekend, I'll post some before and afters once I've done it as i think mine are the most cloudy I've seen. Dave

If thats your cat in your av then I think she should be proud that a talented dancing cat wants to shred his claws on it. Seriously though, I've tried the spray stuff and it definately works kept mine from ripping the hell out of the living room rug. I think I got it from 'Pets at Home' but don't quote me on that.
