errrm hellooo muppet - I didn't say this was concerning the Reading Meet you've managed to spoil for a great deal of people! As a moderator, I have to moderate people like you starting conspiracy theories about private messages and also have to edit out your phone number as you are trading off the back of this forum when you've not paid your trade membership. So wherever you post your phone number on the forum it will continue to be edited out until you pay your traders fee or come to a firm agreement with Paul E / Miami - as far as we are aware after talking to Paul E, this is not currently the case. Now unfortunately, you being a smart arse and threatening people on other threads has gotten many peoples backs up to the extent we have to watch whatever you're up to next. Maybe you should try not to be such a smart arse and we wouldn't have to moderate you.... Now I won't enter into any further discussion on this here as it reflects badly on the club. Feel free to contact me via PM if you have anything you wish to say to me directly. Brian.

Oh you just gotta go drifting with it at Crail now! Providing it has an LSD of course. Anyone remember the letter on the end of the chassis code that indicates it has an LSD - 'B' I think it was, and 'A' indicates an open diff??? A guy I know is organising a track day at Crail BTW: To get full use of the airfield its £35 per head. this is for saterday the 26th of febuary 10am till 4pm. It will be mostly jap stuff that goes, many 200SX's, scoobies etc too... and hopefully Supra's. You want in? Anyone else want in? Perfect place to learn to get to grips with a Supra - you can use the 8val sprint / drift track or use the coned out track, no danger of hitting anything that way - just huge expanses of tarmac cos it's an airfield. Cheers, Brian.

Thought there was problems with VNT turbos because they were originally designed for turbo diesel applications and cannot take the higher EGT's from a performance petrol application?
-
When things get out of hand because people that think they can drift and do so at meets where they cause trouble and spoil it for the rest of us I find it hard for myself to continue to be light hearted. Brian.

Nice work arnout Be good to see what you can achieve with such an inventive setup! Cheers, Brian.

Does that make it right? In my eyes, there's a difference between the above and broadsiding a car on a public road or area where there is always going to be the potential to cause injury to people other than yourself. A far more serious issue IMO.

Just gis a text m8 an I'll give you directions. Can't do tomorrow night as I'm having an xmas meal at a posh restaurant with the family Tomorrow morning probably best for me. Big tip for you - switch the crappy traction control off everytime you get in the car as part of the startup procedure - it's deadly! Cheers, Brian.

Who can read your PM's? Guys, we cannot as a club condone this sort of activity on public roads. I for one enjoy the sport of drifting in a suitable environment - it's great fun and very technical to do it properly (not just do a few powerslides, there's a big difference). Drifting is a big part of the reason why I built my 200SX. Have a look at http://www.driftworks.co.uk - there's a growing drifting scene in the UK and the best guys and all the organisers of UKD1 and such like can be found on this forum. Perhaps slow dog could enter and show some established names up? Cheers, Brian.

It's tDR now f00! Glad you're happy with it m8 Like I said via MSN though, IMO you need to loose the ghey eyebrows, banner and on a lesser note change the wheels as I don't think they suit the Supra. You'll get good money back on them with them being BBS I imagine, then get a nice less spokey set lol - make sure they're wide with a nice low offset though. All totally my opinion though, if you're happy with it as is then that's what's important. Like I said before, pop over to mine at some point this weekend an we can fix your stock BOV problem Cheers, Brian.

Whoever was arsing around - you're a fcukwit! People like you ruin these events for the rest of us. No need, you just give us all a bad name and then wonder why people in nice cars like Supra's get pulled by the police. slow dog - Please refrain from threatening people on this forum. -
Anything to do with your RAC report? Remember, he'll have a guide on a uk spec if anything.. The lambda on your car will be on the turbo elbow afaik, so you should be able to see it under the bonnet - just looks like a metal plug going to a wire going to an electrical connector. HTH, Brian.

Minging! I thought that about the price too, 25k is a rediculous profit - they're just trying their luck because of what it would cost to build a Supra like that in the UK.
-
I think that looks shit hot with the writing on it Maybe get the writing decals done in that liquid art lettering? Cheers, Brian.

Awesome Supe! I personally noticed 1 shift point tell tale note change, very subtle though Cheers, Brian.

My take on turbo lag is that it's the difference in time between when the turbo spools up and the time the cars starts accelerating hard. It can also be described as the time it takes - when you're driving at high revs and full boost and you then quickly change gear - for the turbo to come fully back on the boil when you plant your foot again. Just a second or two in most cases, with only slight time increases as you use bigger turbos. Obviously we don't really experience the former in a mkivsupra TT due to the sequential turbo setup. What clarkson was doing last night was trying to accelerate off boost. Cheers, Brian.
-
I liked the EVO 8 FQ400 but wouldn't pay 47k for one. The rolling test in top gear wasn't actually demonstrating turbo lag, it was showing how long the turbo took to spool - they are two different things. Cheers, Brian.

Does this version of the EPC cover back to '93 / '94 as well mcanny? If so, any chance of a copy? Cheers, Brian.

FI could mean: Forced Induction (turbo'd) Fuel Injection Foreign Import Personally I just quote for a UK spec on their site then phone and say all the details are the same except it's an import and I want it stated on the policy.... they stick around £200 on top, job done.

That's the correct way then You can have it all converted to miles but you're effectively clocking it... (same procedure) bit of a grey area but if it makes you happy and you can get some kind of verification certificate with some before and after pics then you'll be ok if you ever come to sell. Cheers, Brian.
-
If a car's converted properly the odo will tick up in miles and the 112mph speed restrictor will be gone...

Just off the phone to my Uncle who's contacted me for advice on buying a handheld PC type device. It's for use at work in meetings etc and to use at home to interface with his PC through his wireless network (I specced and installed this, all Netgear 54g equipment) so that he can email stuff to his P.A. in the office after transferring to his home PC. I'm not really up on these devices so thought I'd ask here in case anyone has good knowledge of these. After discussing it with him he's looking for these features mainly: - Ordinary diary month to view or week to view feature rather than having to tap through page after page in meetings - Capacity to write on screen (keyboard on screen to tap letters with pen etc.), preferably not predictive text or has the ability to turn it off as with phones as he hates predictive text - Bluetooth (Interact with his bluetooth phones / other bluetooth devices?) - 54g wireless compatible to interface with his home network to transfer data between his home PC and handheld He has been looking at the HP ipaq 7400 at roughly £440 depending where you look. Any good? His budget is £500 but he is prepared to stretch to higher figures if there is a good reason for doing so - future proofing, much better spec etc. Also need to know where to buy from for the best price on any recommendations. Can anyone help? Cheers, Brian.

Firewalls (zonealarm) are a seperate issue and yes you should have one. The standard firewall in WinXP service pack 2 is fine for most peoples needs but other than that zonealarm is a very good product, if a little scarey for a novice to configure. Cheers, Brian.
