  1. They are each quick in their own way. I have imported all 3 - a Supra TT, an ST205 GT4 and a rev.3 MR2 Turbo. Supra - we all know already. MR2 Turbo - More chuckable really and I'd say quicker down a tight backroad because of it's go-kart likeness but if it's a not so tight backroad the Supra would keep up. Responds very well to modding and can see 12 sec 1/4's with basic mods. I've witnessed this. ST205 GT4 - Again more nimble than the Supra and would win down a tight backroad, slightly quicker than the MR2 with it's 4WD and excellent stock package in terms of large (similar to UK spec Supra) brakes and a chargecooler that doesn't suffer from heatsoak. Again, same engine as the rev.3 MR2 turbo with slightly more power and mod potential owing to the excellent chargecooler. I've managed a 12.8 second 1/4 mile in one with just gutted cat, custom 3" zorst, boost at 16psi tops with an EBC and an Apexi induction kit. What I'd say is that the MR2 and GT4 are quicker real world cars in terms of day to day driving but the Supra is the quicker car when you get to silly speeds above 120mph. Cheers, Brian.
  2. Well lane are notorious for over reading. Without Optimax you probably have around 310bhp and slightly more with it (and better running). 335bhp being the standard power figure is a load of arse. Cheers, Brian.
  3. Also in another model ('97 on) with the JZX100 designation, the Mark 2 Tourer V TBO: http://www.caanet.jp/ctnet/1/L208020472.jpg http://www.caanet.jp/ctnet/1/L308020472.jpg
  4. Yep I meant VVti single turbo version 1JZ-GTE Dave. Just found it in a '99 model (JZX100 designation) Chaser with a 5-speed manual transmission, variant Tourer V TBO: http://www.caanet.jp/ctnet/3/L200145296.jpg http://www.caanet.jp/ctnet/3/L300145296.jpg
  5. Congrats m8 If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay? Cheers, Brian.
  6. Something got my attention on the engine history page - didn't realise there was an updated 1JZ-GTE with VVTi in production from '97, the same time they updated the 2JZ-GTE and also interestingly they changed from the parallel twin turbo system to a single turbo: Engine Year Capacity Comp’ Ratio HP @ RPM Carburetion 1JZ-GTE 97 – 2491cc 9.0:1 280 @ 6200 EFI, Air/Air, Single Turbo, VVTi I wonder what car has this engine in it and what turbo it uses - anyone know? Could be a great basis for tuning as it'd be easy to put on a larger turbo whilst keeping the stock manifold. Cheers, Brian.
  7. You honestly think that Toyota will start winning F1 Races by 2020?!?! Cheers, Brian.

    I'm Back!!!

Nice Supe Alex, congrats RE: the indicator repeaters - I've had to fit another set behind the wheel arch on the front wing of a few cars I've imported if they already have the repeater in front of the wheel arch / on the bumper, in order to pass the SVA test. One of the regulations is the side repeater must be visible standing at the rear of the car, at about a 10 degree angle from the side and a couple of steps back. With the side repeater in front of the arch, you will fail the test on this aspect with a number of cars. HTH, Brian.
  9. Hi Terry, Have a look at these threads: http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=112675&highlight=autochrome http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=117912&highlight=autochrome
  10. Paul - there was 2 versions of the S13 CA18DET manifold offered, the 1st was an absolutely crap design and would see no performance gain or benefit, and there were also difficulties with fitting. Then they basically copied the yashio factory manifold one of the traders on sxoc sent them which was a better design but turned out didn't clear the ABS on ABS cars and also seems very prone to cracking. Some members on sxoc also ordered the mk2 manifold through ebay and were sent the crappy mk1 manifold. When they contacted SS Autochrome they were told to sell it on privately in the UK to get their money back and order another!?!?!?! In fairness, the 2JZ manifold does look decent value for money but time will tell when people get hold of them and run them for a few months. Cheers, Brian.
  11. £94 down the drain if it doesn't fit or if you cut it, rotate it and weld it to fit then even more money down the drain when they crack. I personally would steer clear of SS Autochrome stuff after reading all the problems and about their piss poor customer service when it came to returns or even taking feedback. One of the staff was on SXOC and basically told everyone to go do one Bri.

    Newbie

lol! Doesn't really matter what we say though, so long as Todd is happy with how it looks visually and how it handles with those wheels it doesn't matter that it could be better Bri.

High Todd, nice looking Supra Wheels are Kosei RG - try wheelbase (mail order lot) for centre caps. They are the wrong fitment for a Supra though especially on the rear, totally wrong offset and poor width. Cheers, Brian.
  14. Mark, there have been several issues with SS Autochrome manifolds for S13's (not fitting, cracking, poor design etc.) - have a look over on sxoc.com That pic is of an SR20DET manifold and engine btw, UK S13's came with the CA18DET engine. Cheers, Brian.
  15. Andy, Gerry said when I was talking to him they have no problem with the Soarer TT auto's because they will lock in gear ok. The different autobox ECU on the Supra TT seems more eager to kick down. Cheers, Brian.
  16. Nah, this was a couple of years ago lol
  17. Hi Irvy, hope the light doesn't come back after you resetting the ECU but if so I'd agree with the above, low brake fluid level causing the light to come on. Happened to me with your car, I topped up and never had the light come on again. Cheers, Brian.
  18. Gordon, as reported that gave a 600bhp power reading so a no go. Expect c350bhp+ from Irvy's current spec. Cheers, Brian.
  19. Hang on guys, the problem with Irvy's car at Dastek was this: Car in Manu Mode with O/D off, into drive, braking force then applied to rollers by RR operator before flooring it. The car then would always kick down to 2nd (and RR power graph would instantly show the curve climbing steeply to 600bhp ). The operator (Gerry at Dastek) said there was no point taking top end power as it went into 3rd or by starting the braking force when it reached 3rd from flooring it as the figures would be meaningless. When I had Irvy's car, in standard form, it made 323bhp at another rollers, Star Performance. Gerry at Dastek was unconvinced that reading meant anything as they would have bodged the power run to show anything. As an aside, Star Performance recently bought Dastek's old rollers so will be a very similar setup to Dastek now, not the same rollers as when I had it there. Cheers, Brian.
  20. Big single / hi stall TC / built autobox? http://www.vortexpower.co.uk Go on, you know you wanna! Brian.
  21. Marc at the Garage in Wishaw IMO. AVA are good with Fords.... but heard bad things with them and jap stuff. Cheers, Brian.
  22. Nope no new toys In fact I just bought a shockingly sensible 406 exec td as my new commuter Makes a bit more sense than my MR2. I'm contemplating a bike for cheap thrills Hope she's still going strong for ya! Cheers, Brian.
  23. http://www.apex-performance.co.uk seems to be a good place to get em in the uk. Mainly a 200sx specialist but can get any of the garrett RB core turbo's. HTH, Brian.
  24. Hi Jusie, It's just the crappy stock traction control doing it's thing......... bloody dangerous if you ask me (think trying to get out a junction quickly in busy traffic, sitting duck comes to mind!) - why I mentioned to you just turn traction control off as a habit. It really is shockingly crap. Cheers, Brian.
