  1. Date - Saturday 12th June 2004 Time - 9AM - 4PM ish Venue - Crail Raceway Price - £25 Wanna open this up to the Supra's and anything else RWD that fancies having a go. As some of you may know, us 200SX owners are drifting mad. As such, we have an arrangement with Crail for private hire of the airfield for our drift practice days (this will be the 2nd one). The course will be the 8val track as used on the Banzai day at Crail on the 18th of April. The format is bring some spare wheels with tyres and enjoy drifting We can also use the rest of the venue so if you wanna drag race you can, but nothing will be timed. Fast & Modified Magazine want to cover us nutters out drifting for a feature in the magazine, so they will be there taking pics and talking to drivers about this exciting new UK motorsport and their cars. I'll post a short blurb on what drifting is in a moment to give you an idea. Anyone up for it? If so, add your name to the list below by cutting and pasting. I'll be there in my S13 200SX track / drift toy. - ThunDeR (S13 200SX) - - - -
  2. Quality result! Congratulations! Bet that's got the Skyline boys talking I'm praying it holds together for TOTB3 so it can do the business there

Maybe Leon will add another one down south?

lol, I would if it wasn't so far away. Last time I went to the Southampton one it was run by WCA (windsor car auctions) and I lived in Liverpool. I'd only walk around picking faults again

Maybe viewed as a statement CJ, but thats my well formed opinion.

The auctions in Japan are government run affairs with independent engineers that examine, report and grade all vehicles prior to listing. The cars for sale in the UK Import specific auctions are the ones sold very cheaply at the Jap auctions because they are of poor grading due to accident damage, poor condition, high mileage or all of these things. Some of the cars are likely stolen and so don't first pass through the Jap auction system. The ones that did never show their grading when they reach the UK and any evidence as to mileage is destroyed / altered. It's the cars at the import specific UK auctions that get Imports in the UK a bad name with journalists etc. as they are indeed largely dodgy. Buying an honest import means going directly to the source in Japan. HTH, Brian.

I never made the statement that all the J-Spec cars on this BBS are duffers. You made that assumption. The ones bought from Import specific auctions in the UK, usually in docks or nearby, are the duffers. Duffers in the sense they're a pile of crash damaged, clocked or stolen and / or any of these 3 crap. I'm really not having a go at anyone CJ......... just offering first hand experience to help potential new members avoid buying a bad car. Purely advice, I don't need to prove anything and as such don't want to argue or fall out with people about this.

That's very inaccurate CJ. You need a good insight into the auction system in Japan. It's a whole lot different to the auctions in the UK.

Actually I made that quote as I've imported a lot of cars myself, directly from the Japanese Auctions. These are the trustworthy auctions and I have a lot of experience in this. The UK import auctions are a shoddy affair full of dishonest cars......... funny that you never have proof of these cars grading when they were in Japan. Funny they have all their oil change stickers removed from the doorposts and all other service stickers removed. Also funny that they sell for cheaper in the UK with VAT and import duty paid and all other associated costs with shipping etc than I can buy one in Japan for Yes, I have checked out a few of these UK import auctions out of curiosity and noted all of the above and also witnessed a sorry bunch of cars in a sorry state. There is a big difference between the auctions in Japan and the Import auctions in the UK. Leave well alone IMO......... you have been warned.

Only a fool would buy a car from the UK import auctions. None of them are 'mint' by a long shot. Bri.
  14. Yep can highly recommend Marc and The Garage. Know's his stuff and a nice friendly bloke to boot. Marc looks after the white MR2 - it's owned by a bloke called K.Aslam. It ran 10's regularly in Japan The flip painted Skyline with Do-Luck kit is Marc's, it's a RWD GTS-T model with around 390BHP last time I spoke to him. Bri.

  17. That looks very bling BUT I wouldn't know what gauge to look at - does it not feel a bit information overload when you are driving? Oh ang on a minute......... I have 4 extra gauges and a controller in the SX - what am I saying!
  18. I see. And which part in particular did you have trouble understanding?
  19. Interesting view. Must be the consensus on the zed forum BTW, some of what I said was with the 'ol wooden spoon out Steve. Our cars are better than theirs!
  20. Well they obviously arranged a gang bang on the sxoc thread via their forum, so why can't we do the same
  21. rofl. These guys certainly have some strange ideas! Where on earth do they get the notion from that a zed is way more torquey than a Supra? P.S. The Supra is much better than the zed
  22. More support needed guys............. the zed forum boys are ganging up on me spouting shite about how the 300ZX is vastly superior to the Supra TT. Misinformed quotes like this being posted really get me going: "I think the Supra looks crap, boring and very boy racer. The interiror is also the most tacky I have seen in a Japanese "super" car. They dont do everything better. They sound just as bad as they look. You can put another exhaust on but then it just sounds boring and loud, but that is my subjective view." "The V6 will always produce more torque that a straight 6." It's free to post on SXOC btw so jump in and defend the Supra
  23. sx boy - yeah there does seem a certain amount of bitchyness for some reason. The Scottish bunch are great though, we have a great club spirit and events are always fun Dan - there's loads of technical knowledge on the S13 and S14, if you can't find answers in a search just ask away and someone will answer quickly Cheers for the input guys
  24. Have gotten into a 'debate' with some of them over on SXOC: http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?p=916245#post916245 ^^ Input appreciated
