  1. Following on from this thread: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=80248 I read it with great interest, and thought I'd put up a poll to see what the general thoughts are across the board. I'm researching into getting a supra in the not-too-distant future, and I know I'll want to modify the car when I get it - both in looks and performance areas. Ideally I'd like to get it to a decent single turbo spec eventually. (circa 500bhp I think, it needs to be drivable on UK roads, and nothing too silly) Now, as the thread above mentions, there is 2 main paths one could take. If I bought a standard (or semi-standard) Supra, I could do everything the way I wanted, fit only the parts I wanted, and make it the ideal car for me. However, I feel this is the more expensive route, as a lot of money is required to get a TT to single turbo, with all recommended upgradges etc. If I bought a modified Supra, it means a greater initial outlay, but it would be cheaper to get it the way I wanted. I could sell any bits I wanted to change. I'd have thought there was less fun in this option, as I'd not do the work myself, but then I wouldnt hav the hassle of modifying and paying new prices for the parts. Also the worry of knowing if its been looked after or "ragged" around, as is the common opinion of modified cars. So, what'd you do? I was planning on 10k outlay for my TT, but if people think its better to get a pre-modified one, then I'll save up to 13-14k to get a modifed unit. Sorry for such a long post - just trying to get everything covered. Vote away peeps - and post additional thoughts below!
  2. Really??? Holey cow, didnt realise that. i thought if the cambelt went all hell broke lose! I know it would on my current car! Tis good to know it doesnt cause any damage though!
  3. Luke mate, sounds like you've got a plan I always like to get whatever I can done to the car as soon as i get it - that way I'm happy that its been done and that I won't have problems in the future. Don't skimp, as it'll cost you in the future (as I've found out - can't remember if I told you or not though ) Good luck mate, and let me know how you get on Me is v.jealous! lol
  4. Red Supra, Reg N70 *** Spotted on A33 up to the country park where you took a right, and I continued straight on. I was in my Platinum Leon in front of you from around the M3 area. Anyone from here?
  5. 102RON BP is currently £2.42 / litre in Portsmouth.. its expensive - but when they quote a 7% increase in power on a standard car, its virtually the same as adding an exhaust and air filter!
  6. v-power is out NOW! And 102RON BP is also available in portsmouth
  7. Seen same issue here many times (work in IT) Most people get an additional line for the fax. Using the same line meant every time a fax was sent or received, the bb cut off
  8. No tunnels that i know of around Pompey way I'll make myself free for at least one of these meets, but when I get my Supra I'll be there EVERY month - I already have SEAT meets every month, so i'll just change over!

  10. i must admit i LOVE the lot of em - esp the gold one - to look at anyway. Pictures don't tell the whole story
  11. not sure i know who/what pitmans is, so i'll just smile
  12. Ah, but believe it or not, I don't need to look down either. I use about 4 fingers in total - 2 on each hand. Therefore I touch-type - or at least I "feel-type" LOL
  13. I never understand why this should matter - if I'm fast and very accurate, then i don't see why my pinkies need to be used! lol
  14. "Your accuracy was impressive. Your speed was 73 WPM "
  15. its not gonna help much i know, but my Leon does this in low rpm/high gear situations. For me, its not a good noise at all - apparently mine is the DV oscilating, and i think its because my vacuum is too weak to lift it off its seat properly. I'll be keeping my eye on this thread as your solution may in turn help me. I've had this problem for 1yr+ now... grrr.
  16. "No More Hoff. PLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEAAAAAASSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!"
  17. Paul - one of the best supra colours i have ever seen. This colour is right up the top of my chosen colour of supra (when i get one) - absolutely stunning Bet you're chuffed to bits!
  18. hmm, honest opinion is the original purple was AWESOME, new flip-paint is O.K, if a bit chav. If I had to chose I'd chose the original purple. But well done to you! When I get my supe it will be resprayed, and I think i know what colour I want.. just not sure on prices to get it done...
  19. i just couldnt get on with the non-touch screen versions. Buttons are tricky to use if on the move (and i know you shouldnt use it while on the move, but everyone does....even if just to turn volume down/up) - and the ones which used a stylus were just silly! TomTom1 can be picked up for circa £220 brand new, with warranty.
  20. well i have the tomtom1, and i can't fault it at all. That said, my boss has got the TT510 and I've had a look, its got a better resolution screen (and "widescreen) which is an improvement, but the unit is more bulky than my TT1, and I love the fact mines so small and compact. Depends what you're after really, do you need features like built-in bluetooth handsfree, european maps, touch screen etc?
  21. funnily i told them about this forum... wonder if they'll ever read it ????
