  4. Hi chap and chapets Imhaving a nightmare to start my car in a morning. its a 1994 TT J-spec, if that helps. Anyay, my local garage has been closed for a refit where I always get my super unleaded so on the way to work i put some BT ultimite in, and had nowt but bother since. It runs fine when its warm but it really struggles on a morning to start. The car turns over but wont fire. I have to pump the throttle abit and have my foot about a quarter of the way down to get it to fire. When it fires its really lumpy as if its not getting enough fuel. I have to press the throttle further but its still lumpyto stop it cutting out. Fiall if I hold it for about 30secs ish (still lumpy) and rev it til the blow off walve goes off it ticks over perfect them as if its blasted a blockage free or something. Anyone had the same experiences and or any ideas. Oh and since ive filled up with different petrol just to iliminate the crap petrol idea.
  5. Ive just bought a 1st decat but dont have the second decat removed. Is this ok and will I still need to get a restrictor ring if I only remove the 1st decat.
  6. I always run my car on super unleaded. But the last week the garage at the end of the road has been closed for a refit so I put £20s worth of BP untimite in it. I parked it outside of work and when I came to tart it in the morning it struggled to fire and was really lumpy and on the verdgfe of cutting out until it warmed up and them smoothened out. Whats the crack here was it just shit petrol or something else I cant quite comprehend
  7. I would have said it is to tell you what milage the cambelt has been changed at. When a car is imported it usually has a major service which includes cambelt.
  8. I used to build turbos for a living and they definately dont have a rubber o-ring in there. What type of turbo is it?
  9. Just measure the throttle cable get a length of pipe slightly bigger diamiter and cut it straight bown the middle the full length of the pipe and put it over the top of the throttle cable. Try and cut it as straight as you can. When fitted be sure to put the cut to the bottom so it is not visable.
  10. This is brand new never took bubble rap off. It was bought from Envy not long ago I only have the pipe it doesnt come with the silicone hoses. (long story). Anyway P.M. me if you want it. £30 + postage. Im happy to swap it for some other shinny engine bit thats if I dont have them.
  11. I jacked the front of the car up and put my arm straight up and grabbed it no problems at all no need to take the battery out. But your right about the plastic bag. I wish I hav thought of it I got oil everywhere in my nice new clean shinny garage floor.
  12. I would have thought that if I had a coil pack off then it would be lumpy right through the rev range if there was a cylinder not firing but its fine after about 2.5 to 3k.

  14. Its valvoline 5/50 was recommended by by envy. Ive took it for a good spin and it went like f#@k no problems with that its was just if I drove really slovley I noticed it when I pulled it into the garage and out again cant understand it.
  15. Ive just fitted some polished cam covers, done an oil change and changed the coolant on my jspec tt. Now when i start it and put it into drive or reverse and am moving slowly the car shakes, like a chugging feeling, really weard. It drives really well though and seens to pick up well and alot smoother to be honest since the oil change but mind you the oil that I took out was minging filthy. has anyone had this problem or and surgestions what it might be.
  16. I think I better flush it as I bought the car off a proper scrote didnt take care of it at all. Cheapest was best he thought I think. Ive spent a fortune getting it sorted but every penny has been worth it. Anyway thanks for the help guys. Ill let you know how I get on and if I manage to sort it without breaking something (very unlikly).
  17. Im changing my coolant at the weekend. Ive bought 10ltrs of red forlife coolant. Do I just take off the bottom rad hose and let all the old coolant out reconnect the hose and then fill it up again or will the system require bleeding off. if so which is the best way to do so. Also when do i know when theres enough coolant in, is this just when the rediator is foll or will i start the carandf then keep filling it as it goes down whilst circulating.

  20. Im doing a bit of a service on the Supra this weekend and want to change the water. What sort of engine coolant would you recomend and what sort of mixture with the water would be best, especially as its coming up to the winter.
  21. Thats damn expensive as the belt is only about £30.
  22. Sound abit of a strange request but has anyone got a set of these fitted to there car there the ones with the triangular vents in them near the door. What im after is a template of the vent. I dont want to change my front wings for wider ones but like the idea of the vents so I wanted to get a set of wings lazer cut out for the vents but wanted the correct size. Cheers folks
