    Hello

Welcome to both of you. I visit both your countries most years and am yet to see a Supra. Are they really rare there? More photos would be good
  2. this is quite a good tutorial....
  3. Hi all, I've always been keen on what I deem to be 'interesting' or 'unusual' cars, and am thinking about a supercharged GT86 (likely the Cosworth conversion) as a potential next car. Has anyone had any first hand experience of them that they could share? ta Michael
  4. very nice. How much do these GTT's go for these days?
  5. no, no - don't use something to 'bond' it. Black silicon will remain rubbery, like the sealant around the top of a bath and the tiles. If you ever needed to change the windscreen the silicon should just peel away. The silicon will help keep the majority of running water from getting in there but remain flexible and removable. Stay away from bonding materials like tiger seal etc.
  6. unfortunately for you, its a sellers market at the minute - and has been for a while. Those that have good ones seem to be keeping them, but may be open to speculative offers. For example, I'm in no way planning to sell mine but if someone PM'ed me offering £17k I would consider it. I guess many others would too if the price was right. Maybe find a car you like that an active user has (that way you know for sure they still have it), and send them a PM to see if they would consider selling. Good luck with your search - it must be lovely to see the market price here is less than half on what you're used to seeing in the States
  7. run a thin bead of black silicon along it, and then trim to a neat edge with a stanley blade once its cured.
  8. Bloody thing!! Went to change this at lunchtime and found that the plastic toothed cable in my original aerial is way shorter than the one on the new aerial. Seems that it has snapped and some is still in the motorised part of the set up. Can the motorized unit be split down or opened up to allow me to get the broken section out of it, or would I have to get a new unit? Also, does anyone have a definitive answer as to which way the teeth should face for them to 'catch' and be wound in. I've seen some documents on the web saying they should face towards the rear of the car, and then I've seen this contradicted on some forums. When I removed my old one the teeth were pointing to the side, but thats due to the cable having snapped and turned. Any advice would be appreciated before I have a go at the weekend many thanks Michael
  9. its not the boot rubbers, unless the boot rubbers squeak when the tailgates open and you tap on the plastic trim panel under the spoiler :-) I had considered the rubbers when i was driving along, but have since ruled these out due to the above
  10. its actually more of an intermittent squeaking rather than a rattle thats annoying me. Sounds like a plastic squeak. I'll likely be covering a few tabs with some adhesive felt...
  11. Probably. I’ll take it off, check all the tabs and refit carefully. Is it worth putting a light spray of grease on the tabs when refitting to help against squeaks and the like?
  12. Cheers, it’s a rattle I’m aiming to solve so am hoping not to create another lol
  13. Hi all, Any tips/ pointers / watch out for, when removing the trim from inside the boot lid? It’s the trim panel that’s below the spoiler/rear wiper that I mean Ta in advance :-)
  14. sound pretty straightforward. PM me an email address and I'll get something over to you.. cheers Michael
  15. ....and a new aerial on the way from TCB Parts (quite a bit cheaper than the competitors)
  16. youtube found the answer for me :-) Looks very simple (fingers crossed)
  17. Hi all, today my electric aerial stopped working. It is stuck in the up position. I can hear the motor spinning but it doesn’t retract. I’m thinking that it’s just the mast that needs replaced. Is this a common fault/fix? Any tips on how to fit a new mast? I see whifbitz have them new, but happy to take a good used one if anyone has a spare.. Ta Michael
  18. they're better than most, but as its a UK car it could have been exposed to winter roads (salt) for over 20 years. Then again it could have been kept in a garage each winter and be perfect. You'll need to have a real good look over it (and under it) and then make a call.
  19. Hi Rory, welcome along. Could you share details & pics of your FD? Whilst we are Supra biased, we do like most cars and a RX-7 is a special motor. Whats your wishlist/budget for the Supra?
  20. errr, I'll take a punt on dark blue maybe
  21. I'm with you on that one, but its still got a fair bit of depreciation to come over the next few years....
  22. TVR Cerbera tempts me very much. Its been on my list for quite a while, although, like the Supra, prices are really firming up over the last few years. I've had a 4.5 Chimaera in the past, so am fully 'eyes open' when its comes to TVRs and their potential issues. Having said that, the only problem I ever had with the Chimaera was a blown fuse.
