What does anyone reckon to the Sound Performance Quick Spool Valve?For use with a twin scroll turbo but with an open manifold.If their figures are to be believed;its some piece of kit.I take it this is for larger turbos only?

Mitsi Matt.If you find that you hate the auto ,i can only suggest that you are driving it incorrectly.Use the box more like a manual and it will reward you.If its slow,try removing the fuse to the box.Leave it out for about 10 secs and reinstall it.It may have learned bad habits from a previous owner.It will now relearn your driving habits.The auto box is in essence a sequential operation.Keep your foot down and and change gear.Whether in manu mode or full auto;it really doesn't matter.Autos have gears so that they can be utilised;otherwise they would have only one gear.In four years of driving,i have never been in a situation where i wished i were in a manual..All of my previous cars have been manual.

I first saw blue puffs of smoke,then larger puffs that turned into billows.Eventually my Supe reminded me of a Spitfire(or Zero) going down in a blaze of glory.Except it was into a money pit.One set of crap AET hybrids,followed by another set(not AET) which was repaired five times.Now single.Hallelujah.The moral being:blue smoke means get your wallet out(for a single).

Interesting thread this Dan.I have a GT35 on a cast manifold and was wondering how a larger turbo would react on this type of manifold.Marty at SSI put my conversion together(hybrids kept blowing up)and it goes bloody great.Have to have a word in his ear.

For no particular reason was browsing through the MP site.A Supra on there is claiming,on stock twins,500bhp,top speed 190mph and 0-60 in 3 secs.I must be doing something wrong somewhere.To accurate;480 on the engine plus another 100 with NOS-580bhp.Wistful.

The forthcoming Zenvo ST1 from Denmark(yes) runs both a supercharger and turbo,Supercharger for low down torque to eliminate lag and turbo for out and out power.They detuned it from 1500 bhp to 1100bhp.Out soon.

Think you miss my point IMI. A future buyer of a Ferrrari 458 , a Noble 600 or a Maclaren MP4-12S wouldn't trade their cars for one which costs up to twice as much and is slower.

A MKIV Supra in 1993 could beat the Porsche 928(last year of production in 1994; £72k) ,the Ferrrari 348,an Asto Martin DB7,a BMW 850 amongst others.The LF-A ?

Take a look at the videos on Pistonheads of the 458.It looks better,goes quicker and sounds like only a Ferrari can.I can't think of any reason why either the 458 or forthcoming Maclaren could not be seen as competition for thr Lexus;apart from its price.

The LF-As main competition will be from the Ferrari 458 and the Maclaren MP4-12CS.Both of which are quicker and will be about £190k cheaper.Saying the Lexus is a technological tour de force is a cop out for its poor pound to power ratio.If it was stunning to look at,which it isn't,this could be slightly overlooked.In the wet on TG it didn't look particularly nimble or gainly;it should be better in the dry;by about 3 secs.

I've had it for almost 4 years;can't fault it.Had no instuctions when i bought the car(already fitted),so don't do what i did:thought 26% setting was giving more grip.First time on a damp road,floored it,went sideways like a one legged screaming ferret.Can only think it was the amount of OMG's i said that saved me.Total dickhead.Read the instuctions online after that.RTFI:)

If times mean anything in the real world.The LF-A did a 7'-22sec,sometime earlier this year around the 'Ring,wasn't a secret.Whether it was a 'straight' production car ,i don't know.Still think its overpriced;not that it will ever be a worry to my lowly bank balance.
