  1. Firstly, I didn't know he was a club member until well after I'd bought them and arranged to collect them! Secondly, don't you see that’s a contradiction? If you we a gentleman, you would abide by the rules of the system. It's not like I did anything wrong or cheated after all. I play by the rules and expect others to do like wise. You can't change the rules when it suits you, if only life was that convenient eh! I've had email conversations with ebay members and then subsequently lost the bid, I don't cry about it, I don't try and make the buyer back down, I just get on with it. It really is quite simple. When it happens to you, for something you "really" want and have been after for a while, you will understand better I think... It's easy to speculate when it doesn't affect you... PS: lol well I can sleep at night because the seller was 100% happy to sell them at that price. He was a really nice guy and neither of us were put out by this
  2. Well it has side skirts, I assume they are toyota ones but I don't actually know for certain, pretty sure they are though...
  3. heh yeah I realise what it's meant to do, wonder if it works on a road car, probably does do something at very high speeds, probably more the lower the car is I guess...
  4. the light made it wonkey? hmmmm anyway, do they actually do anything or are the purely cosmetic?
  5. lol yeah I originally wrote "daft question about jacking up"!! Then I've just noticed I wrote care not car, doh!
  6. yeah TBH the side skirts don't seem to help! I'll give both ideas a go though. Would like to use the trolley jack, then it's a 30 sec job to get under the car! thanks
  7. hey it's wonky isn't it?
  8. It works ok? I've never used it before, was put off by past experiences with iffy scissor jacks lol, maybe I'll try that then
  9. Ok, I've never had a problem doing this before, so please don't flame me Car = extremely low, no way my trolley jack can go under the front. Can probably just squeeze round the sides (if I'm lucky lol!) What to do? Is it safe to use a trolley jack on the sides (near the standard jacking points I guess) with a piece of wood to spread the load, or do I risk bending something like the floorpan. Instead, am I best using the bog standard jack to raise the car so I can get the trolley jack under the suspension /subframe? any advice before I damage something, appologies for the daft question but I had to ask...
  10. lol but what was the problem? couldn't get it located on the center? sometimes tricky but surely not that hard! If the wheel is really big and heavy, sit on your arse and use both hands plus leaverage from your legs to manhandle it into place, with wheelnuts at the ready! If you can't fit the wheel, should you be a supra owner? saying that, I've had trouble jacking the car for which I need to make a seperate thread!
  11. Fair play, good luck with it I take it you got the nuts of the studs ok then? I have mine to do soon and I'm worrying over studs snapping lol. Any recommended technique?
  12. please can you post a link to it, I'd like to see that
  13. Around 5:40pm yesterday (Tues 7th Sept) travelling West along the A2300 from Burgess Hill Towards A23 junction at Hickstead. I was going the other way and didn't get to see any details. Was it anyone on here?
  14. Thats really strange that they don't line up then! AFAIK the stud fitting didn't change at all through the years, did it? Maybe the pipe you have is just too tight on the studs and doesn't allow for slight variations, mind you, several mm, thats a lot, doesn't seem right at all.
  15. Hey I am totally chilled! dont worry about that Well I knew as much as you at the end of the day and it's all a two way thing. You think I was harsh on you, I think you were cheeky for trying to make me back down lol - we are bound to have different oppinions. But knowing how much you obviously wanted them, I think had the situation been reversed you would have done the same as me and TBH I wouldn't have even bothered to try and stop you - you probably won't want to admit that, but think about it for a moment. I agree anyway, it's time for this thread to die. You will find some, I'll keep my eye out on your behalf thats for sure
  16. Well I don't see how you would be in the 1%, not if you really wanted them and as far as you were concerned you won them fair and square! I missed some uk brakes on ebay a while back, it was my fault, i wouldn't try and make the buyer back down, I wouldn't have the cheek to do that! Thats the whole point of ebay, you either bid or buy it now, there is no other way the system could work, if you don't like it then don't use it! TBH you should have either bid and watched the item like a hawk (thats what everyone else has to do) or got the auction ended. You can't change the rules to suit you. I am sorry that you lost out on this occassion, there will be other times when it goes in your favour, thats the way it goes isn't it. This is nothing against club spirit! Club spirit is a 2 way thing and I didn't know you were a member initially anyway!
  17. Ok, it was me who got the brakes on ebay. Sorry to Nish, but I have had a bad time with ebay of late and I wasnt going to be a pushover again and TBH, nothing legal was discussed with the seller. All I said was that I had pressed the "buy it now" button, so basically he had an obligation to me - end of! FFR - if you've managed to agree a price privately (which isn't the way ebay is actually supposed to work) then you need to get the seller to end the auction or reserve it for you. At the end of the day, you win some, you lose some. Trust me, I've lost a lot more on ebay than i've won. If I decide to sell, or find any more on my travels, you'll be the first to know!
  18. hmmm, so was it me who got the bargain?
  19. Yeah it's just the cat temp sensor, you won't have the cat, so you won't need the sensor! Just tie it out of the way, dont cut it off!! PS: where did you get the pipe, strange it doesn't line up!
  20. Update, just spoken to Ibrar, he says +29 is a very low offset - i.e the wheels stick out more, not less! Standard is +50, so mine are already 21mm out from normal (not in). gaz, are you sure this is low? what offset do people normally run with aftermarket wheels then?
  21. Nice one rush, yeah let us know how you get on with them, timing wasn't good for me, but I might be interested in getting some in the future...
  22. chilli

    Avon ZZ-3

I had a full set of avons (think they might have been zz1's) on my Integrale a while back. They were the worst, most scary tyre I've ever had - so much so I doub't I'll ever buy avon's again!
  23. lol someones getting a good deal then! I'm very tempted but I've got other work to get done first TBH and by then I'll know more clearly what sort of turbo upgrade I'll need... Sounds like hybrids bridge the gap from the max on stock turbos of say 475bhp to around 550bhp fwhp or so then, if you want to be in that window (i.e. a touch more than available with stock but less than requiring a single) then they could make a lot of sense.
