I was approached by a young, well dressed chap I didn't know at Southampton boat show. 'Hello, are you Ewen ?' the chap asked. 'Yes' said I, 'how can I help you ?' I asked. 'I'm the new ***** ********, extremely pleased to meet you at last' he gushed. 'Ah' I replied, 'thank god we've got a new one...the old one was a complete prat...totally out of his depth. He was only here a few weeks but totally f*****d everything up. You have quite a job on your hands to put right the mess he made. When do you start ?' 'I started six weeks ago' he replied, then straightened his tie and walked off.

Cant see the son deliberately intending to kill the guy...if he did its murder sure enough...hope its re-branded as manslaughter personally, assuming he felt as though his life / mums life was in danger. I've no idea what I'd do in similar circumstances, but I certainly wouldn't take time to consider the options.

Depending on your budget I'd suggest trying a tiptronic TT...cheaper than a six speed TT when compared by like-for-like year and mileage, and great fun in manual mode. Big difference in performance between N/As and TTs, and kick-down is more of an event. However, as Red-M hints, you have to be pretty aggressive with your right foot to get an auto to kick-down anyway...I've never had a kick-down by accident in nine years...dont be scared of an auto TT, you will get used to it quickly...normal autos are great cars, but tiptronics are far better IMO.
