  1. Chris, couldn't you just send the positive feed to the heated rear screen to the heaters in the mirror? Then they'd only be on when the heated rear screen is on and the mirror heaters would automatically turn off with the heated rear screen's timer.
  2. They're heated on my UK model but not electrically folding. I think it's either one or the other, but not both.
  3. 1. UK 2. Stock 3. Manual 4. Condition 5. Full service history
  4. Nice of you to come back with the fix. So often you read through a problem thread and it just ends with no conclusion/solution!
  5. Well they're not exactly what I'd call "not that expensive"! Retail price is £153.93 + VAT - less whatever discount you manage to negotiate with your local Toyota dealer. Luckily for me, my local dealer always gives me a decent discount and delivers stuff FOC. Edit: thinking about it, I should have tried Paul Whiffin. Sometimes he is cheaper than the local dealer, othertimes not...
  6. Keron came back to me via PM a little while ago after checking what he has available. He pretty much confirmed what I initially thought, which was most, if not all, of these 9 - 17 year old under tank protectors will be well past their best by now. Consequently I have just ordered a new. Thanks very much for the replies though...
  7. When I got mine off it didn't look really bad condition - that was until I started scraping around with scraper! My intention is to get the underneath/box sections coated with Dinotrol quite soon, so really a great finish isn't an absolute necessity - although beneficial if not too expensive. Obviously all that would come down to price. There comes a point when it would be more viable to get a new one, I suppose. When you get chance, give it another checking over and get back to me with a price - and possibly with the additional sand blasting/powder coating price (it you've got the time). ...and thanks for the reply.
  8. As they say: "It sounds like a plan" - thanks.
  9. Yeah, it's the largish tin cover (as per the attached picture) that goes below and around the tank to stop stones flying up and puncturing the tank. Is yours in good nick - if you can remember? The one on mine is a bit ropey (to say the least) but could be tidied up with a bit of time spent on it. (Obviously I'm not after another iffy one that I have to work on!!)
  10. As per title, I'm after a good (no holes, little to no rust) fuel tank protector (the tin cover that's underneath and around the fuel tank - see attached photo). It doesn't matter from which model as they're all the same. Sorted now
  11. Are you absolutely certain? I checked on the diagrams I have before replying and there was no mention of any connection to the seats. Edit: Diagram of layout of associated components of SRS system added. SRS Diagram.pdf
  12. The seats are not connected to the air bag system. If you've had the dash off and turned the ignition on, then I recall that can make the air bag light appear.
  13. Is it for a J-Spec or an export Supra?
  14. The alarm fitted to UK spec cars when arriving here is actually made by Scorpion. I think the remotes did have a Toyota logo, but I'm not certain about that - I got rid of my UK alarm a few years ago. The bonnet sensor does trigger the alarm, but it will NOT affect the MIL light on the dash. If the alarm was installed correctly, then no aspect of the alarm will affect the MIL light.
  15. Just wondering if anyone has any of the stock dash bulbs available after they have done an LED conversion? The bulb I'm in need of at the moment is the one behind the heater temperature control - but any OEM bulbs would also come in useful as spares...
  16. She said you had someone outside the car moving a torch and shining it through the car side window! As unbelievable as the acceleration may have appeared, I told her it would be genuine.
  17. It could simply be that the rod has come off the actuating arm for the air mixing flap. Have a look here.
  18. Jamie, just showed my Mrs the video of your speedo, and the first thing she said was: "is it on axle stands with the rear tyres off the floor?"!
  19. I always used to find Admiral pretty good and very 'cheap' - although fortunately I never had to claim on the policy, so I don't know what they'd be like then. Just don't fit a boost controller of any description though, as they'll then say that they can no longer insure you.
  20. Stock electric aerial, double-din JVC head unit and no problems.
  21. A hot air gun will make it easier to get the bits off with the help of a scraper or similar. Petrol on a rag will get the rest of the goo off.
  22. Me too. It's unbelievably quiet and that's with a pair of 3" decat pipes.
  23. Where I ordered mine from was the cheapest I could find. Even my local Toyota dealer couldn't come close and they are usually very competitive...
  24. You're just a couple of hours too late! New ones are £275 delivered each.
  25. From memory, there's nothing in the car handbook about not using the spacesaver on the rear. I recall it just says don't go over 50 mph when it's being used.
