1. I don't think it's one of Chris Wilson's SMICs. I have one and I'm fairly sure it has rounded inlet and outlet tanks.
2. Now Sold As per title, in perfect working order. Complete with the 3 wire wiring harness, about 3.5m of new nylon tubing and connection instructions. The pillar pod fits very well to the 'A' pillar trim either by drilling and using the four black plastic plugs (included), or by using something like Tiger Seal; I used the plugs. The gauge is smoked glass and looks quite black until the ignition is switched on. The backlight has been modded from bright white to green to match the stock clocks. There is also a gauge 'hood' fitted which helps prevent reflections on the windscreen. The only thing required for installation would be a T-piece which are widely available for a quid or two. Only used for a few months until I went with an AEM Tru-Boost controller/gauge plus an AEM AFR gauge in a twin A pillar pod. £50 including 1st Class Recorded Delivery. Payment by PayPal personal payment, thanks.
3. Was that photo taken from inside your house through the front door's fish-eye viewer?
4. This isn't the original rear exhaust box that came with the car, it's one I bought from MrT for £273.66. I took it off almost three years ago when I fitted a Tanabe system. It had been used for under 15,000 miles over a five year period. It hasn't been cleaned up at all, it's just as it has been sat in my garage for the last three years. It includes the chrome trim piece. No middle section available because I scrapped that as it was somewhat ropey. £25 collected or £33 including mainland UK delivery. Cash on collection, or via PayPal personal payment if posted. Thanks.
5. Prices left on a sale thread could also be slightly misleading. A seller may well have accepted a lower offer by PM, so the original advertised 'for sale' price - if left un-edited - will not reflect the true price an item has actually sold for.
6. I've a standard Toyota TT back box. It's not the original one that was fitted to the car when new, but one I bought from Mr T a few years back (and around 15 - 20,000 miles ago) for £280, IIRC. No centre section available, as that was ropey and scrapped when I fitted a Tanabe system. If interested, drop me a PM.
7. Both genuine Toyota and originally supplied and fitted by the Toyota main dealer. They have covered only 14,718 miles and I probably should have just refitted them, rather than go to the expense of new belts, however... Timing belt part number: 13568-46021 Auxiliary V-Belt part number: 90916-02310 £25 for both including P&P. Sold
8. At 80ltrs (17.5 gallons) my UK model has a bit bigger fuel tank than J-Specs, I beleive, but even so, 250 miles per tank isn't great. I tend to get 22-26mpg - and that's not taking it particularly easy. Even with the old O2 sensors, the mpg was the same...
9. I think you may find that it is! Taken from here:
10. If you do decide on the Greddy, you can get one specifically for the Supra here.
11. Out of the two, yes. That's what I use.
12. The difference is that the HKS affects the Turbo Pressure Sensor voltage all the time (not ideal), whereas the Greddy only affects the TPS voltage when the turbo pressure exceeds around 1 Bar.
13. If it's a relatively minor leak where there's a drop of oil every few hours, then one of these seal fixes may have a chance. Going off my experience many years back, when you've a fairly noticeable leak these products do little to no good. The money would probably be much better spent by putting it towards a proper cure. ...and don't forget, if it does actually swell seals, then it's swelling all the seals in the engine including those that weren't causing any problems. I don't think that can be a good thing in the long term.
14. Who actually fits the alarm is probably more important than the alarm brand itself. Make sure it's not one of these companies that claim to be able to complete the installation in an hour or two. I also have a Clifford alarm and it's been great. They're also very flexible in terms of setting up and accessories/sensors that can be added.
15. Having checked again, it can be put on a car first registered 1st August 1996 onwards (1st Aug '96 was when registration plates prefixed with a 'P' commenced)
16. Quite right, well spotted! Will edit my post.
