  1. James, the car CAN be removed from the premises between test and retest. Sounds like your garage is trying it on. Directly from the back of the failure certificate: "Retest Charges The maximum fees charged for retests are: a. If the behicle is left at the test station that undertakes repairs, for repair and retest, then onlt a partial retest is required. - NO FEE b. If the vehicle is brought back to the test station and retested before the end of the next working day on one or more of the following items only: ABS warning, Bootlid, Brake pedal antislip, Direction Indicators/hazard warning, Doors, Dropsides, Exhaust emissions, Fuel filler cap, Headlamp aim, Hoen, LAMPS, Loading door, Mirrors, Rear reflectors, Registration plates, Seat belts (but not anchorages), Seats, sharp edges, projections, Steering wheel, Tailboard, Tailgate, VIN No, Wheels* and Tyres* and Winscreen wipers and washers; only a partial retest is required. - NO FEE * does not apply to Classes i or ii c. If the vehicle leaves the test station premises and returns for a retest on item(s) other than those listed at b above the behicle must be fully inspected on all tstable items before a test certificate may be issued. A full test must be carried out even if a "free retest" is offered for marketing purposes. - FULL FEE" Note, at the beginning - "The MAXIMUM fees charged... Go get 'em! Ken Edit: D'oh! Took so long typing that, you worked it out yourself.

    Top Gears on.

He did start if you look close at the beginning of that bit.
  4. Don't care. At least this one's the right size.
  5. Because Winter's the best time to buy? And Spring's the best time to sell. All pricewise that is...
  6. VVTi tiptronic all the way. Mine's the same as Rogue's - but I've got leather... But IMO they're ALL great.
  7. Would that be Andy by any chance? I thought his piston went because he was using the wrong plugs.

Hi Steveo, small world. My missus works in Bovy HQ - and I used to work in the D&M School, then later in the HQ as Bovy & Lulworth IT Manager. If you see Alan Smith (Wing 2i/c?) tell him Ken Holland says Hi. And there's loads of Soops down this way mate.

    World Cup draw...

We'd still find ourselves just squeezing through in second place though...

  11. Ah, that adds a new light on things. If you've got the use of another car you're not entitled to a hire car whether you're at fault or not. (Even if you don't want to drive it in this weather ) Ken
  12. I've already got "mkivsupra.net" on my rear plate.
  13. If you're not at fault, that underwriter's talking a load of rubbish! If it's a non-fault case then you can have a rental and claim the cost back from the other drivers insurance co. I work for Car Crash Line and that's what we do - supply cars to non-fault crash victims. We supply the car and claim the money back from the 3rd party. And it doesn't matter who your own insurance is with... Ken
  14. "BMW. Built by Germans, driven by morons." Jeremy Clarkson 1999 Sorry, but in the main I have to agree.
  15. Ah - so you're the loonie Lin was telling me about tonight! She was in her Fester and saw you. (only joking)
  16. Could just have been one of our rentals. We've a couple of Masers on fleet that we lease out - the customers treat 'em like shite... Edit: Now that I think about it, I'm sure we get them from some place in Exeter. So it could have been a garage driver who could just get it fixed no bother.
  17. Worm omelette here too. But my omelette was self-stirring. Must be a regular thing in the Forces then...

How brave was that politician Mr Ladyboy? He knew darn well he was in for a slating before he even turned up, but still went ahead with it. And bent the Suzuki too. And yes, he did make a bit of sense (not too much though) but the best bit was the suggestion that they put a camera outside Clarkson's house. The look on Jezza's face...
  19. Hi James, Welcome to the club - nice to see another local owner. Time for another Poole/Bmth meet soon I think...
  20. I want to know how come you've still got a decent set of tyres after all this time?
