Late Supra specs

Trying to figure this out...I thought all the later spec VVTi TT Supras had the bigger brakes?

I know my RZ-S did and pretty sure most of the ones I've seen did. Were they still J Specs with an upgrade option?

I have seen loads of late RZ-S with J-spec brakes mine came with Bigger brakes though so it must have been an option.

I thought all VVTi (97 onwards) came with Uk spec 4 pots as standard. I have never seen a VVTi car with J specs.

My 98 vvti came to the uk with jspecs all round, just fitted oem big brakes last week finally

You can just buy the callipers, discs and pads from Toyota, they bolt straight on after you cut the backing plates a bit to clear. Would suggest you consider buying new rather than second hand though, as they'll probably need a refurb and that'll eat up most of the saving for going second hand (or in my case, end up costing very slightly more than new).

98 build year car here on J-Spec brakes.

yes buying the OEM big brake kit is a sensible idea if you have jspecs and running bpu or moe. They are not cheap, best to get a quote from toyota, if you know a friendly parts manager you can get a better price. I bought mine of a forum member who had bought them new, never fitted and then sold his car, so i picked them up for a very good price but that was just fluke and good timing! PM J_jza80, he got some brand new from toyota but i cant remember what he paid, but I remember he got a good deal!

Exactly this, standard on an RZ but an option on an RZ-S.

My RZ vvti (2001) come with big brakes, recaros, carbon steering wheel, black carpet and black roof lining

The larger brakes were optional on the RZ-S, but standard on the RZ. If your RZ-S has the bigger brakes they were paid for by the OG or they were upgraded later in the cars life
