Not the smallest in the world. Girlfriend is suggesting putting conkers around to stop them
AJI
They actually keep your house clean of flys (live and dead) and fly lava along with other much smaller badness which are much worse (cleanliness wise) than a spider. Easiest way is to pick them up and drop them out of the window.

Pete
Our dog used to pick them up in his mouth making them all wet then drop them. They'd curl up making them very easy to pick up and lob out of the window.
edd_t
leave um alone, unless they are big hairy scary ones. like above, they keep away annoying flys and other bugs.

I miss the cats, they were fantastic at keeping everything out the house, maybe I should get another one.
Stonkin
A chemical free way to chase away, (not kill) spiders is to place Hedge Apples or pieces of Hedge Apples wherever you see spiders. Spiders hate these things. You can not find the Hedge Apples until late summer/early fall but that is when the spiders are at their worst. Also, do not kill the Granddaddy Long Legs, they are lethal to other spiders and bugs but not to humans. ps, i didnt write that, found it on a website, i am to drunk to put a sentence togther like that this morning

Havard
How about making a smaller version of a mouse trap using a matchbox, a paper clip and the spring from a pen?? If it catches on I want some royalties for the initial idea!! OR get Jeff Daniels in, he's good with spiders!! http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/8818/spidersdx6.jpg H. jim_supra
Place dead spiders near where you think they are getting in, remove the legs and scatter them near the body. They'll soon get the message.
miko_supra
i have one of those electrical make bugs go away thingy majigy that plugs into the wall of my flat and I havent seen any spiders at all really. I cant stand them. the last time i picked one up it was HUGE, and i mean literally HUGE!, it could have fitted into a small child's clothes, and i did the old cup and paper trick. but as i tried to open the front door the paper kinked leaving an escape route for him and so it made a quick get away up my arm!!! so i just has some kind of a fit , launching both the spider and the cup across the hall making allot of smashed glass go everywhere. RedM
Find all the likely spider holes and place little dolls house doors in front of them. Spiders, lacking opposable thumbs, will not be able to turn the handles and will be trapped behind them forever. Probably.
Supragal
My dogs love chasing spider, but it gets a bit much when the spiders rununder the sofa etc and they set about smashing theplace up to try and get to them... Honestly though, regular hoovering/dusting, then they won't have places to live.
