Thanks for the kind words guys. Ferry is now booked from dover for 23.59 on friday and returning sometime on Saturday. Trailer and tow car is sorted. The running total so far is £110 for ferry tickets and obviously fuel will have to be added. (about £300) all I need to do now is buy/ borrow sat-nav.

I shall also be filling the car with duty free!

Hi, really sorry to see this - we were there at the weekend and I saw a blue Supra go round on either Saturday evening or on Sunday (bit of a blur now!) - could this have been you?

If its any consolation, the Germans can get fully comprehensive insurance for the Ring so fingers crossed he was properly insured and you can pursue a claim against him.

This was our sixth trip to the Ring (second with the Supra) and it is a madly dangerous place but has an incredible pull to keep going back!!

Hope you get it sorted as painlessly as possible.

Cheers,

Jane

Well, she's now back in England and sat at the body shop awaiting repair. And what a journey it was to collect her! Just over 1400 miles round trip in less than 35 hours. And i'm knackered! I went with a friend and we shared the driving but we probably only got about an hour or two of sleep each!

The trip would have been shorter had we have had Sat Nav. But we didn't and as a result ended up getting lost quite a few times, as the map we took was rubbish! The worst place we got lost was in Belgium and ended up driving through the center of brussells!

The good news on the car is that she doesn't have any chassis damage, the legs are completely untouched and is just cosmetic damage, which is a huge relief as i'd been fearing the worst all week. so with any luck (something i've been short on lately) she should be back on the road in a couple of weeks!

At least that's good news then.

Did you manage to get the other guys details?

I have his Number plate, so the insurance can be getting on with tracing that for now. I need to ring the police station today to get the rest of the details from them as they haven't posted the full report with his details on like I requested.

Jim, good news, glad it's not as bad as it could have been.

Yeah lot's of folk make the same mistake and miss the "R0" which takes you around Brussels:rolleyes: I came through that way last night on my way back and despite making the same journey loads of times in recent years I always seem to panic at the last moment and my gut feeling ( and with the size of my belly after so much beer, it's a big feeling;)) tells me I should be heading towards Brussels instead of heading for Gent. Anyhow, glad you have it back and the ball is rolling. Who did you cross with out of interest, Norfolk line maybe? They were the cheapest for my trip but ended up delayed both ways:(

Thanks Shane. We made sure we followed the signs for Gent on the way back, there was no way we were going into the center again!

I crossed with P&O. worked out quite cheap for a car and trailer. £110 return, although that would have gone up had the return journey been more than 24 hours from the outbound journey. They even put us on earlier crossings because we arrived a good hour early at both sides.
