Just to confirm that we will be picking up the rear bumper next week m8

As always this comes with a warranty against defect and more than happy to replace / refund if there has been a problem...you will never have a quibble from me on this point.

I do believe that Lee had managed to obtain, shall we say;' slightly over the lepton limit' (errr...x2.75) several times with no problem with this fitted... :)

And looking at mine and others it would normally take an atom bomb to shift these!

Should this have occurred as a result of something hitting the rear at speed or being backed into prior to etc then of course this is his responsibility...

Normally after it being on the car for some time most suppliers would tell him to go forth - but it is importent that everyone is confident (especially me!)

Therefore really very happy to have a look and confirm that this wasn't the case and have it replaced / refund ...

In the meantime I have provided Lee with a rear diffuser so that he can get the car ready and will be in touch next week...

Paul if you knew how Lee babied that car you wouldnt even need to ask.

I think it's only been on the car a matter of weeks ??? And Lee only uses the car at weekends.

Well done  I know Lee was devastated when it happened.

Yes I have, and Paul and I have been in touch since this unfortunate incident happened. I fitted an ally bar/plate to the underside. Near where the exhaust goes through the bumper at the rear of the diffuser.

Mine is rivoted , glued, fibreglassed on, so I know its absoultely solid, like Paul has said it would take a bomb to rip it off.

I have also pondered about drilling a few extra holes underside of the diffuser where it cannot be seen to relive some of the pressure. It can only be from the nearside, as the bumper mates with the petrol tank on the offside of the car.

Not sure what an original mounting plate looks like, it would be nice to get a pic from "Don" or "Rob Sheffield" as they have them.... I will try and get a pic up too.

It is a metal bracket - that just fits where yours is - to attach to the nearside

Your plate is much stronger tan the original and Lee's too was sikoflexed along the whole length of the tank etc

There is a mounting point on the nearside which also must be used (see number 6 on the attached) - if not then this will allow the air to get in here and push it downwards - possibly causing a crack under 160+ leptons.

I would also fix another bracket to the edge opposite number 6 on the exhaust tunnel - this could be a design flaw in the original

The holes would be a good idea I think...

Number six is where I attached my ally bracket, and I connected this to a bolt hole in the rear exhaust heat shield..... thats redundant after fitting my blitz nur spec

Yep, I gonna get another piece made so I can attach oppersite side of zorst tunnel too.. Overkill , maybe but I want it staying put

Excellent idea Simon ...

I will add this to the diagram and post for posterity where everyone can see it...

Good to speak BTW - and please yours is solid - bung me some more pics of the finished article - you can even include that wing if you must :)

This is put in the box as a matter of course...

The Trail rear has even more holes than this to fix it with...another under 1&2

Mind you any decent bodyshop would know what to do...not exactly rocket science

What's your interest anyway?

Cut the attitude please Paul.

At a guess he's probably a tad concerned that bodywork is failing.

What really concerns me is if the defuser comes off completely and hits someone else- imagine a motorcyclist getting clobbered by it. That'd be an interesting one to explain to the police & insurance company.
