As a new owner of a Mk4 Supra, I wanted to say hello to everyone, and that I'm looking forward to restoring my 1993 Japanese-market Turbo Supra to near-new condition over the next year or two. This forum will be a fantastic resource to that end!

I've just completed a 1989 Mk3 Supra turbo project with my oldest son, and am giving it to him next month as a college graduation gift. When I found a Mk4 last month for sale, I couldn't pass up getting a Supra of my own :-)

Fun fact: most U.S. car insurance companies won't touch a right-hand drive car. Also, I looked up the build date on my Mk4 yesterday, and it was manufactured within a day or two of my 21st birthday.

John, I was able to insure it through Progressive, although it required their underwriting departmnt’s approval, and a clever agent’s ability to override the VIN length requirement. In the end it did qualify as a specialty sports car policy, which was about 50% more expensive than a LHD Supra would have cost. But I have no annual mileage restrictions with Progressive, which is nice. Other options out there had mileage limits around 4000 miles per year.
