No offence but making threats against forum members because they are giving you and others the heads up about a cars history is not going to help your sale. How about answering the questions and putting people's mind at ease? Rather than avoiding the subject?

Is the car still in the same condition? Where did you get it? Etc etc.

A cars history is very important, arguably one of the best points of a forum owned car.

It was the term trying it on that offended me. I have been misled by people in the year i have owned the car and ripped by the dealership that sold it. I don't understand why having a crap battery strap is so important when the car could and probably has (given what it's capable of) had the balls screwed out it, drifted etc.

I bought the car in June 2015. Not allowed to drive it. Clutch was knackered. Slipping in 4th,5th 6th. Replaced it. No history on timing belt. Previous owner gone to ground so replaced it. Car has been polished so whiter than when I purchased. Turbo timer fitted. Dynoed. Running 338 at 0.9 bar. I am told this is an excellent report and means car behaving with no problems. I was told it was BPU. it doesn't have a restrictor ring and was lied to by the dealership when I asked. It does have 1 cat fitted. It has never been driven in the wet by me - ever. My main vehicle is an escort van. I've had the callipers repainted too.

I know its only a simple thing but for what one would cost i'd get a genuine battery clamp fitted, the one that's on it screams an owner doesn't give a rats

ass about his car to me and makes me wonder what else is bodged up etc etc

Try Keron on here, he breaks mkiv's so might have one he could post out to you

How dare you insult me. A battery clamp is about as important as a pimple on my butt. I have treasured this car throughout the time I've owned this car. You'd probably screw the ass off it after you'd put a new battery clamp and say that's giving a rats ass. No more please.

Its the little details though that give 1st impressions about the rest of the car, btw dunk was trying to be helpful, you took that completely the wrong way, chill out man.

Err. No. He said It screams the owner doesn't give a rats ass. How did I take that the wrong way. If he had said. I'm sure you live the car man but it would make a better impression if you put a better strap on. Then why didn't he say that if that's what he meant. Do we speak English or some undercurrent version.

I think you need to chill out a bit. Dunk was actually trying to be helpful.

From a buyers point of view it I saw that simple things like the battery wasn't secure, I would be questioning other parts of the car. Particularly when a battery being secure is an MOT requirement.

Calm down, or you will earn yourself a 24h cooling off period and your advert will be pulled.

Many people on this forum write in English. You appear to try to do. Sadly you fail to successfully do so.

I would suggest you read Dnks post again.

It is a nice looking car but your posts are doing a lot of damage to your chances of selling it.

I am calm. Thank you. The battery is secure. It doesn't move around and it passed an mot with that strap which I reckon is a wall strap used in building construction. Any way how could you say the battery wasn't secure? It is. But you assume it's not. It's not a pretty strap and didn't cost the earth but it works secures the battery and is legal.

Thank you for response and advice. I have read the posts again and I still see that although not mentioned directly but implied in his post is that it suggests the owner doesn't care about the car. I do car about the car. I had researched the car for months. I've owned an st lift back 2.0l a celica st 1.8 and a celica gt. The supra was on my bucket list. I've had immense enjoyment from this car and have enjoyed the attention it attracts. I'm a very young 63 yr old man and I just want to sell my car. I know I was ripped off now but hey ho! Bmwmotors are coming to see it Monday.

You`re missing the point here buddy, the battery clamp is a bodge job and you know it, if i went to look at the car and the 1st thing i see when we pop the hood is a building product securing the battery i`d think hmm what else is bodged, it wouldn`t be so bad if the piece was chromed lol, also if you read dunks post again it says "an owner" not the owner or jake the owner, its called constructive criticism.

It says an owner doesn't (present tense) not an owner didn't (past tense). Doesn't implies me didn't doesn't imply me.

Ok thanks for the english lesson, as they say everyday is a school day, i`m done talking to you but i will say this, i doubt very much you will sell your car on this forum (present tense) and bmw motors? might offer you half of what you`re looking for.

driver bolster worn? at 70k?

Yes. I'm overweight. I've driven the car most days sometimes twice day usually for short runs and get it in the motorway to work both turbos. Because I'm overweight I have to slide down into the seat and what was minimal wear has become more serious. Hope this puts your mind at rest.
