Keep up the enthusiasm and don't give up the dream. I always wanted a supra since seeing the first fast and furious film and I think I was 12 when it came out. Now at 24 I finally have one.

You'll be hard pushed to get insured on one much sooner though. Best advice is stick with something cheap and 1 litre for your first car, there's no shame in it.

Build up your no claims and work on a supra as a project until you can afford not only to insure it, but the running costs.

After seeing Predator I desperately wanted a Medi gun but it was neither feasible or practical  Also after watching trading places I desperately wanted Jamie Lee Curtis! That didnt happen either:(

I've been quoted for £500 on my civic which is 1.5 lsi with mods declared from a new drivers specialist insurer

Who is this quote with? I doubt I'd get a quote for a standard Civic much cheaper than that!

My first car was a 1.1 D reg Fiesta insured TPFT back in 2002 and it cost me £1200 - I even declared it was beige so it was no risk of being stolen...

£500??? Interesting......on that very civic, my quotes are higher than that!!!!!!!!!

I also have 5 years NCB, and no points.

How on earth did you get a quote at £500???

See this is where we are going wrong

I need to ring sky and tell them I'm only 15 and want to insure my trd widebodied single :)

What details you out in for the civic?

I'm curious what I would get now

When it comes to insurance you really need to get lots of quotes and play the insurance companies off against each other. Im 38 with 8 years NCB with an NA-TT got insured at £350 fully comp with my wife as a named driver. Keep phoning about and ask them how to get your quotes lowered.
