Just get 2 normal cams and I'll weld you a bit on. Save you a fortune.;)

LOL! If only it was that simples!

I've sent a PM to Lee this morning, so am waiting to see what the latest is on his cams and if I can get just an exhaust one. If I can, then it's time to ring Mr Titan for a 264 and a cam pulley :)

How much lift can you use before risking valves hitting pistons though?

I've read 10mm lift is where they become interference - assuming stock pistons, valves, headgasket, etc.

All the HKS cams (max lift 9.3mm) are suppose to be non-interference, the high lift JUN 272/10.8mm cams make the engine interference.

Has anyone actually measured the stock clearance?

Right, good point, bad point time.

Good point: Delivered the fuel bits to Hodge for him to have powder coated and assembled to make the job a little quicker. Also Mrs Hodge made a belting muffin for me. Lovely.

Bad point: Titan cannot fulfil cam orders for the VVTi for the next 2-4 months.

This basically means I've got to look at other cam options. I've dug out some information, and what I've seen is:

Stock: Duration: 248 - Lift: 8.56 - Lift @ 0.050": 200

Tomei: Duration: 264 - Lift: 9.50 - Lift @ 0.050": 227

Brian Crower S2: Duration: 264 - Lift: 8.74 - Lift @ 0.050": 218

Brian Crower S3: Duration: 272 - Lift: 9.52 - Lift @ 0.050": 229

Titan 264: Duration: 264 - Lift: 9.35 - Lift @ 0.050": ???

Titan 272: Duration: 272 - Lift: 9.9 - Lift @ 0.050": ???

HKS 264 VVTi: Duration: 264 - Lift: 8.6 - Lift @ 0.050": ???

The Titan ones are 9.35mm lift, so I think I'll go Titan, still.

So, I'm tilting towards the Crowers S3 cams now, with the 272's. Any thoughts?

I've been a busy bunny with the bits Johnny left at mine the other day.

I've drilled and tapped out the other end of the fuel rail m12x1.25 and also the FPR hole. I've fitted 3 x -6AN fittings to the rail and had them welded in. They have now been blended into the rail and it's now awaiting powdercoating.

I've also started on the fuel hanger also.

At work I've made 2 bosses which I've drilled and tapped. 3/4 UNF for -8AN feed and a 9/16 UNF for the -6AN return. Hopefully tonight I'll drill out the stock feed and return and have these welded in place so the bulkhead fittings can be screwed in. I'll start baashing some pics up as soon as there's something to see.

Tomei are available through PHR (see their trader section)

Sorry missed that.

the Jun ones state that they cannot be used with VVTi (although they do have high lift for their duration!)

A JUN cam could be used on the exhaust side or are you just looking for VVTi intake side?

Bit of a long shot, couldnt someone like Kent cams make you up something to your spec? Sure if you sent the original cam off they could work from that?

My cams have miles on them matey - the head is essentially brand new, low miles, so I want a new cam in there (just me being me).
