Really? It'd be nice to have a low mileage supra. Not seen a low mileage supe for ages. Low as in below 5000miles

here is a low mileage that was just sold within a couple of week of being imported this is same place i got mine. wonder what grade this is. went for £8,495

Mine says grade 4 but on the site says with few scratches and dents but mine has not got 1 scratch or dent on the body but the dash has couple of light scratches so has the gear stick. would that be why its a grade 4 ?

Grade 5 means pretty much new, it'd be almost unheard of to see a supra like this now. Grade 4 is very wide ranging IME, I've seen some right sheds that have the Jap grade 4 documents, but others which have been mint with the same. Some might well be duped by false documents which is why I'd only ever use a specialist importer now if getting a car from Japan.

grade 4 is very good grade can include - minor faults it can be either dents, minor scratches, interior marks, mechanical work needed small...

to be a grade 5 car has to be limited use car and mint ie almost factory conditon and with under 10,000km..

these cars cost mega bucks..

but on another another note some grade 4 cars should be grade 3 and some grade 4 should of been 4.5..

grade 4 does not automatically mean your car is mint but it means its at a very good condition for its year and miles..

every grade 4 car will be different.

It shows 62... km on the odo yet is advertised as a 25k mile car...

Sadly most of these cars are clocked prior to import

Wasn't there quite a bit of fraud going on in Jap auction houses 2-3 years ago when considerable bribes were being taken for up-grading cars? I'm sure someone on here mentioned a tale about a 4.5 gunmetal Supra that turned out to have a twisted chassis.

???

yep there was a lot of young guys getting bribed by car dealers in japan to make their cars look better on paper give them higher gradings...a lot of bidders with out guys there to check were bidding on what they thought was a safe car..

you need a guy there to check them..

we still get cars here grade 4 and sometimes they still need small issues resolved-which we do before they leave us.

This place is a pleasant learning curve IMO :)

Yes it is a 1993, and when I went to see it, I couldn't believe the condition. Everything was minty clean and the owner drove like Miss Daisy, and did oil/fluid changes ridiculously often, almost obsessively!

Yet you will still get some utter cretin asking why yours is £XXXX more than the POS 3 miles away when you come to sell it. For reasons I've yet to understand they'd rather buy a £3k TT that needs £12k's worth of work than shell out £6-7-8k in the first place for a minter and just drive the thing.

like a said earlier if you get a nice clean grade 4 genuine car like yours and its well maintain, these cars can not be beaten for condition in the UK..

It is,.. we have gone way off the original topic of uks vs jdms though... :innocent:

answer to this is

UK are better equipped as stock car..but VVTI 6 speeds are not far behind..

performance they are on par..

in todays market (been out for over 15 years ) what will be the best condtion car for its age..this most likely will be a JDM car thats been in the UK for no longer than 3 years..

anything in this country for over 3 years then the condition will be determined by how the owners have looked after it ie (weather and servicing) am sure there is plenty of mint UK spec cars in here..
