Nope not at all :) tbh I would have thought the paying traders on here would have complained? maybe they have?

i have been wondering this for a while. when i was here last time, there were not so many. now there are a plethora of advertisements and other things cropping up in sig's, that i have noticed in the few days i have been back.

must admit, it does surprise me when traders pay good money to have their goods and services advertised, and yet there does not seem to be a rule on adverts in sig's, for people who do not pay.

In general as long as any advertisements were not for car related items, and therefore not in direct competition with traders on here - they have been overlooked. e.g computer services, or underwear :D to name but two. Obviously if this were to become widespread we would have to reconsider this stance.

Where car related advertisements have been spotted in signatures they have been addressed, or are in the process of being so.

if anyone has any objections to any advertisements or is aware of any "signature violations" they should report them, and they will be addressed.

HTH

Unless it's Michael, in which case they will be ignored. He wouldn't expect any less from us.

I have a link in my sig but I've nothing to be ashamed of as I checked with a mod before I created it.

May be different as I am not selling products and what I do would only ever be used by a couple of folk on this forum anyhoo.

Now I wonder how it would work if I was to advertise juglords.com (which I own, whois is if you want to come and see me :)) - And I pointed it to here...

Not that I'm going to, but I just wanted to say I own juglords.com :D - I've got too much time on my hands...

I've just started out. I also paid the traders fee. I now realise all I had to do was put a link to a website or name a website to do the same thing. moneys well spent me thinks>???
The club has never stopped being recommending companies which they are not affiliated to, and this is what has allowed some advertisements in signatures to go unquestioned. It has never been allowed for someone who is linked to a company to advertise their own company here without being a trader. So no, you can not just put a link to your website and avoid paying the traders fee.

I will be updating the club rules soon to say you are not allowed to even mentioned the name of a company which isn't a paid up trader of this club. I'll then set about removing all links from peoples signatures. That should hopefully sort the problem.
