Ewen
Fuzzybutts got a tumour. What was a small lump on her head a month ago, grew into quite a sizeable bump. Initially it was diagnosed as a benign cyst under the skin, but today was confirmed as a malignant tumour growing in the sinus cavity and pushing up through her skull. Shes home after an op to remove the large bump and explore the area etc. Shes got a large incision down the middle of her head, but still seems to know us and react to our company. No cure in the offing, the vet reckons she will be gone within a month or two, earlier if she shows signs of pain / dementia. Not a bad innings, 19 years old, but she is loved to death and will be missed terribly.

Chris Wilson
An excellent age, like my mother! We can't go forever, it's sad to hear this, but as you say, an excellent innings and you sound like the sort of owner who will do the right thing at the right time. Hope she still has some quality time left, give her a stroke for me!

dangerous brain
Isn't one of the reasons behind having pets familiarising you with death so that grief over human deaths is a bit lower? As sad as losing a treasured pet is it does have a practical application. Look to the future and go from there.

Ewen
Sad to hear bud... how old was she in this pic? That was about two years ago Imi, she'd have been about 17 I reckon. Always been healthy and strong belying her age, this thing just came up out of the blue around July. Thanks for the kind comments guys.
