  1. I ve just started out to rebuild my Supra, basically I m putting in a brand new shortblock, head, gearbox, diff, suspension and brakes. A brief history of my car, well it was originally an NA 5spd Supra which I converted to a TT 6spd (due to the lack of availability of good used supra's in India). This conversion was done about three years ago, I imported a used TT lump from Malaysia and sourced a 6spd gearbox from the UK. However, the mileage on the engine is unknown and there is a slight whine from the gearbox. Additionally, the car just seems to be getting old and I felt that it needs a rebuild especially since I have gone for a single turbo and want it to last for a while reliably. Here is the specs I am going for: brand new stock blueprinted shortblock (blueprinted by MVP Motorsports) PHR modified oil pump APR head studs Driftworks oil cooler kit brand new stock head HKS 264 In/Ex camshafts PHR valve springs & Titanium retainers T61 turbo kit Power Enterprise 650cc Injectors Autronic SM4 ECU Autronic 500R CDI Brand new Getrag V160 gearbox RPS Max clutch UK spec brakes Complete suspension overhaul (want to go with some coilovers but havent decided which ones yet) TRD thermostat iForged Daytona wheels 18x11 rear 18x9.5 front Cant think of anything else now, will add parts as I remember.
  2. Has anyone tried the PHR single valve spring and titanium retainer combo in their engines??? I am just installing my new head with HKS 264 In/Ex cams and noticed that the valve locks dont seem to sit flush with the retainers like they do on the stock setup and my engine builder is hesitant to go ahead as he is concerned that the engine might drop a valve. I ve take a picture of the valve outside the head, this is how the valve locks fit even with the valves installed with springs in the head. Note: Forgot to add that I am using stock valves and valve locks
  3. Thanks guys, there also seems to be some burr in the combustion chamber area. Should I carefully use a grinder in this area too???
  4. Anyone else with some more opinions? Mr Wilson???
  5. I just received my brand new shortblock and head from the US. However, I noticed that the head has metal pieces that look like they should have been machined out. Here are some pictures, what should I do?
  6. I hadnt heard of the Solaris when I got the AUtronic. I m going to have to fly over an Autronic dealer/tuner from Malaysia to install and tune the ECU. Bit of a pain but I havent managed to get the EMU to work spot on myself so I thought I d just get it done by a professional to avoid future issues.
  7. Ok so with the mixed views on the camshaft break-in. Should I use a molybdenum lube on the cam lobes for the initial start-up of the engine or will engine oil do???
  8. Thank you all for the input! I appreciate it.
  9. I am currently using 650cc injectors on my T61 turbo setup. However, my tuner says that I will be on the edge of my fuelling limits with 650cc injectors and that it can fuel upto 500hp. Is this true??? Will the 650cc be ample for a T61 or will I be on the limits??? Thanks
  10. Its just for street. Everything is stock (blueprinted shortblock), I m just refurbishing my car so I dont have to worry about it for quite some time to come. I m going in for a new engine, gearbox, diff, suspension, brakes and radiator. I ve not managed to get the car running well with the EMU so decided to get a professional install the Autronic SM4 standalone!!! How is your car doing mate? the T67 must be insanely fast!
  11. Hi Dick! thanks! What is this special cam lube and where can I get it from??? Now the thing is that I m getting a brand new shortblock, head and valvetrain installed in my car so should I follow the same start up procedure as you mentioned.
  12. I m going to have a pair of HKS 264 In/Ex cams fitted to my T61 supra. What lubricant should I use for the installations and break-in process of the cams??? CHeers adi
  13. I ve got some 17 inch BBS wheels on my car at the moment but they dont seem to clear UK brakes. Here are some pictures of my car, I would greatly appreciate it if I can get some suggestions on what wheels would look nice on a silver supe??? I m not after anything larger than 18 inches
  14. Yes. Bought a whole lot of parts from them for a 6spd conversion and had it shipped all the way to India, only to realise that they sent me a completely knackered diff and a damaged V161 gearbox. Never got any support after that. After that incident I ve bought myself a brand new Getrag V160 and Differential from Curt Aigner at Elmhurst Toyota (USA).
  15. One question though. Are they going to be made with oil galleys like the stock piston???
  16. Stay away from them mate, seriously.
  17. Chris, I ve got a spare diff which is broken. torsen is broken and ring and pinion are damaged also. Other than this (the torsen that Wez is selling) I would need a new set of ring and pinion right??? Is it an easy job to refurbish??? Cheers adi
  18. Anyone have a mint condition stock side skirt for sale??? price please???
  19. I m just curious to know if there is anyone on this forum running an Autronic ecu on their supra??? I ve got one and I m finding it hard to get support for their products. I ve got an Autronic SM4 and a 500R CDI system waiting to be installed on my T61 single supra.
  20. Thanks! there was a specific thread with a .pdf file, thats the one I m looking for
  21. Earlier I came across a .pdf guide in one of the threads on 'how to paint' spark plug covers and other plastics. However, I simply cannot find it now. does anyone have the document by any chance??? Cheers
  22. Is it necessary to get adjustable cam gears when going with aftermarket cams??? In my case I m going with a T61 single setup and going to run HKS 264 IN/EX cams so I m just wondering if its essential to hv the cam gears??? Any advice would be great! Cheers Adi
  23. Mate R u sure they fit UK brakes, as I have the same wheels and just a couple of days ago I tried test fitting them over UK calipers and they were fouling???
